Unlimited22: I guess this lays to rest further arguments as to whether the massacre happened or not. The report covered a whole lot of grey areas the naysayers have continuously nimble on : 1. Name of dead protesters/ family members of those who lost their loved ones. 2. That the army did use live ammunitions. Even the country of supply for the live ammunitions was mentioned and it was confirmed Nigerian army has been buying and using same for years now . 3. That the army obviously cleared their mess by taking away the bodies as claimed by DJ Switch from inception. Well , I’m waiting for Saturday when the General Taiwo guy will be under cross examination by the protesters’ counsel at the Lagos state panel. I want to see how well he can defend the lies he put out last week while giving his testimony. I know nothing serious will come out of the panel and it’s report , but I just want to see hypocrisy of the army, Sanwoolu and other players for what it is 11 Likes 2 Shares |

BlueRayDick: Maybe you watched another video/report apart from the one CNN put out for you to still say their video support that massacre happened at Lekki toll gate. Maybe the definition of massacre has changed overnight, I’m not sure. 1. From the video/report, CNN only reported 1 uncertified death and 1 missing person according to the brother. How does this prove massacre. Today make it 28 days that the shooting happened, if CNN can only report 1 uncertified death and 1 missing person, it led credence to the fact that no massacre happened. 2. There were several casing that were picked up even by protesters after the shooting that night and those casing were blank bullet. Whether the army used live bullet or not, I’m not sure but they did use blank bullet which the casings that were picked up after the protestors showed. 3. General Taiwo did not deny the fact that the army was at Lekki toll gate, neither did he deny that the soldiers shot though he claimed that they the soldiers shot in the air. We have seen mass shooting even in US and the casualties even from untrained shooters cannot be compared to what happened at Lekki where trained soldiers are said to have shot directly at protestors. The shooting (whether to the air or not) is bad enough to hold govt to account on than trying to push a massacre that never happened. The fact of that night still remains: Were Army deployed to Lekki toll gate? Yes Were did shooting at Lekki toll gate? Yes Did a massacre happened there? NO. It’s instructive to note that even CNN didn’t claim a massacre happened there. 10 Likes |

larride: I want to believe u missed the following parts of the post ; From multiple videos, CNN has pieced together a timeline that shows that shooting by the army lasted from 6:43 p.m. until at least 8:24 p.m., according to video evidence. CNN has examined bullet casings found at the scene and confirmed with current and former Nigerian military sources that the bullet casings match those used by the army. Two ballistics experts have also confirmed with CNN that the shape of the bullet casings indicate they used live rounds, which contradicts the army's claim they fired blanks. No matter the name u decide to call it, the Nigerian army shot at unarmed protesters, people died on the spot, others died as a result of injuries and some are missing. Anybody can keep making the government's argument for them. You say the general didn't lie but he claimed in his testimony that the army came to intervene when the police was overwhelmed. The section of the constitution he quoted allows the army to intervene in civil unrest when the army has been overwhelmed, but when the cross examination started last week he confirmed the protesters at the toll gate were peaceful which immediately put to tatters his claim that they intervened becaue police was overwhelmed. The sitting was adjourned shortly after. Like I said, General Taiwo will be under cross examination on Saturday.....anybody can say anything as their testimony in a judicial proceeding, it is under cross examination facts will be revealed. 11 Likes 2 Shares |

BlueRayDick: The report said Police took away bodies, nothing about army. The report actually did not move much further from what I understood to have happened. It produced one dead body shown to have been killed by Police in addition (or part of) the two SanwoOlu has already claimed and did not bring up a number of missing persons apart from that one. 1 Like |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaIucRSvFww Having watched the video above which is quite comprehensive and well researched. I am now fully convinced that lives were lost (although i never denied this). May their souls rest in peace. May the perpetrators of such unlawful killing and barbarism be brought to book. We the youths have to cling unto this moment till 2023 and make sure we register to vote and vote. We have to vote the current ruling class out. All of us here reading this have to try to make a commitment in enforcing our change and making our voices heard at the ballot boxes in 2023. No more APC or PDP or APGA or any old member of the present ruling class. Let's usher in a new ruling class. This is the only practical solution to our problems. Lastly, you can't blame anyone who was skeptical initially seeing as there were lots of confirmed cases of misinformation and a triggering of mass delusions which led to worse debilitating chaos. At least now we can see empirical evidence of the unlawful killing. Nobody should still boldly cling unto denial. That would be unfair to the victims and also irrational. Peace. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

BlueRayDick: Don’t try to twist what the General said. He said Gov Sanwoolu asked the Army to intervene when the Police and their stations were being burnt. He also alluded to the fact that those protesting at Lekki tollgate were peaceful but that there were also some other charlatan at the other side. He said the army had no reason to open fire at protestors and only shoot in the air to disperse them. Now his testimonies at the Judicial panel can be challenged and fact check during cross examination. Moreover witnesses are still needed to come forward to say their own part of events that occurred especially those that have lost a loved one or have a missing person. The Judicial panel is sitting and proceeding is been live streamed, the army has gone to say their own side of the story, they will be cross examined, let witnesses from that night also go there and give their own side of the story so both can face each other and we know who is lieing. As at today, there’s no evidence that massacre happened at Lekki, it doesn’t however invalidate genuine concerns about the army having to shot to disperse peaceful protesters. 3 Likes |

BlueRayDick: Bro, I am talking about the CNN Report, nothing else. According to the CNN report, the witnesses said they saw Police taking away bodies. The devil of the report is in the detail. Let me remind you of my deductions. My deductions are not in support of Govts position but my understanding after watching several videos, for example I never bought the bullshït of only blanks being used. Let's walk through what happened: The army started shooting around 7pm and left sometime around 8pm. Their shooting was videod from the high-rise and showed no bodies being carted away. I said they shot in the air but there may be a handful of horizontal shots. CNN said they scoured over a hundred hours of video and highlighted two horizontal shots. I deduced from One Souls evidence, after the army cleared out, the Police came later that evening and shot people and were fighting area boys in Lekki-Ajah axis. The CNN video confirms that Police came and according to witnesses were shooting and took bodies away. DJSwitch may have confused army with Police. The missing person who they ended the report with a video of him being shot timestamped at 1.04am was a Police casualty as army had cleared out hours before. My conclusion was to get to the detail of the matter, not to take any Govt position cos it never made sense to me that you would shoot into a crowd with so few casualties, and I also know the behaviour of army in riot situations having grown up during military era and suspected their behaviour at Lekki was no different to how they used to behave when I was growing up. There are many issues conflated in what happened but if you follow the details and timeline you can break it down into two things - (1.) Army doing what army have always done in riots which is shoot in the air with a few stray bullets, and (2.) Police later coming to do what Police usually do which is shoot at civilians as we saw in other parts of the country during the same period. The CNN report confirms all of the above and not much beyond. Now watch the CNN report again with the above points and timelines in mind and see if anything in that report contradicts the above. There is no video in that CNN report I haven't seen except the two incidents of horizontal shooting. The only part I am still unclear about is how much of Police shooting is attributable to the war they had with boys in Lekki-Ajah and how much can be delineated solely to the Lekki protestors. Premium times already told us of one Police corporal that came to Lekki and shot one disabled boy there, but there are two separate incidents that night in the same area on the same night, and I have no doubt Police would have taken some bodies. The Police part of the matter is largely un-videod because the crowd was dispersed by then and individual people were under horizontal fire, but the army shooting is extensively documented on video and is in a crowd situation. 4 Likes |

larride: I’m not twisting what he said ; he quoted Section 217 2C of the constitution that allowed them to intervene when theres breakdown of law and order. He then confirmed under cross examination that the protesters at Lekki were peaceful. Does it make sense to u to say u want to restore order amongst people u agree to have been peaceful? So u actually believe the blank shots they fired in the air led to multiple gun shots wound sustained by protesters and those that have been confirmed dead ? Na wa o 5 Likes 1 Share |
