I have one ATM card tied to my everyday account while the main account has just Internet App and no ATM card.

The first thing I do with my ATM card is scratching off the 3 digit pins at the back of the card after memorizing it in 7 seconds.

Funny sometimes I do see the actual 3 digit pins in my dreams before going to bank to pick the ATM card.

Why not avoid all these roadside POS terminal for your own sanity. Many nigerians hate their peace of mind.

There are micro devices that can do this also... The general notice is to never let the card out of your site

There are records stored on the Magnetic stripe of the card... It is the tape that runs at the back of the card and it has some details of the card which can be read by skimming devices.

Please DON'T say that again, that's why they said information is power. What is described by the OP is very possible. There are some sites that do not require pin code to make payment, once you enter card number name on the card, expiry date and that number at the back, your payment is done.

The thing is, you will get notified, but at that point there's nothing you can do again. My friend once used my card for payment, I got notified but the money was still in my account, when I called him he said he didn't use my card, (mind you he used my card four days earlier, but the money was just taken, so he didn't know). I hurriedly blocked my card hoping the money will not be deducted, but it was too late. Though that was a legitimate transaction I was only scare because I thought it was another person carrying out transaction on my card. Again they usually process this transactions in the middle of the night, days after the transaction has been initiated.

With this chip they can do any transaction plus it will even enable them perform internet stuff without the use of devices. Nobody will be able to perform any financial transactions without it. You're wrong, no "software" "bypasses OTP." Rather, there are first and second level transaction verification. Prior to now, renowned stores like Aliexpress and Amazon operate 1st level verification; you'd submit your card details and the card merchant approves your transaction while others are. Presently, they all operate on second level; a code (via whether OTP sms or from your Token hardware/software) has to be submitted to authenticate your transaction.
Fraudsters need these codes to complete their puzzles, hence they call their victims to obtain the codes from them.
