nasohian: Please read through both links. Either of the address used as sample will do. For me, I think it boils down to whether you want those issuing it to know exactly what you're up to. https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/nail-the-challenge-of-getting-reference-letter-from-current-employer.397796/ https://www.nairaland.com/4212543/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/34#63131997 1 Like 1 Share |

ausn: It simply means that your file is being worked upon and your medicals have been extended. Basically whenever your COPR comes, the validity or expiry date will be Nov19,2021 or the date of your passport expiry date (whichever one comes first) So plan towards then. IRCC just saved you the stress and cost of redoing medicals |

mikenkem: 8:15 am Alberta time is 4:15pm in Nigeria. I experienced the same issue the first day I tried evaluating my wife’s LLB. Next day, I was on the website before 4:12 pm and was successful in creating a draft application that day. I’ll advise you to open your IQAS page as early as 4:10pm Nigerian time, and to click ‘create application’ before 4:13pm. 2 Likes |

Hi Guys, I'm new here. Can I pls get clarification on this: Will it be possible to relocate with my nanny? She's 21 and I heard if I become her legal guardian then it will be possible but I haven't really seen any information supporting that online. I'll appreciate detailed responses. Thank you. |

Booqie:you can help her through the care giver program. You must be able to demonstrate that you can pay her minimum wage here. Meaning you must have a well paying job here that can accommodate minimum wage. A tough ask |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by WeAreDLucky1s: 2:26am On Nov 22, 2020 |
Booqie: Oh, she is 21! Great and not so good. Secondly, Yes - "Legal Adoption" makes her eligible as a dependant. To begin with, there is an age limit when it comes to classifying who a dependant is and who can be added as a dependant. For FSW/Express Entry, the age limit is 22 as at AOR! Note the deadline. - The child must not have celebrated 22nd birthday at the time of IRCC receiving your complete application. Click HERE. Unless if the child has a "mental or physical condition/disability". Also, different states in Nigeria (if you're here) have a different age limit for Child Adoption and in many states, only "Juvenile" can be adopted - In some state Juvenile is at age 17 while for some 18. You'll need to speak with a lawyer within your state for certainty and how it applies to your case. Click HERE - They also have their contact on that article. While for child guardianship, the Nigerian law only permits children below 18years, and I doubt that will meet IRCC's qualification to categorize the child as a dependant. I know at this point many doubts and thoughts may be running through your mind, but hey, don't lose hope, as a matter of fact, please try to push as hard and fast as you can. Highlights; i. You have just one year max from now to ensure you make that child bond and be part of your family for life. ii. You can try other means that can make the process a lot possible - not necessarily saying you should adjust the difference (I truly hope you understand what I mean here, as it will change everything if done right). Just speak with a good lawyer and surely you both can find a way as regards the age and how the law can be used in your favor - Trust me, lawyers are the best maneuverers. iii. You may also need the child both parents giving up their parental rights to the child - this can be difficult for many parents especially the learned ones. iv. IRCC and your timelines - Understanding #2 very well will be very handy as time goes by. v. FSW/PR is a process of patience originally, with adoption - You'll most certainly need an abundance of it. In addition, see HERE my previous post for someone who wished to go this same route. Ultimately, I wish you the very best, and please try to make that child's dream a reality - I believe you can. Also, this is another chance to rewrite someone's generation and give that child a ray of hope off this side of the world - The dark side. In addition to what @Kekereekun123 advised, which is quite difficult and demanding based on the fact that you'll need to be there first coupled with other requirements, which I doubt is what you plan for, you can try the above. i.e the Adoption Route I hope this is both helpful and inspiring. And, I'll like to thank you for reading. 5 Likes

WeAreDLucky1s:key word nanny. this is employment parole. you cannot adopt your employee. a 21-years-old is an adult she can walk away if she was taken along. so it's caregiver things. If you adopt someone and intend to use them as a nanny its child trafficking 17 Likes |

Hello Everyone, I need some clarification. Please if you are a lawyer and currently in the pool I need your help. I am really confused as to what NOC to use. I am a lawyer. Previously worked in law firms but I currently work in a school as a School Administrator even though I have no academic qualifications in Education. I’d be getting my reference letter and all other documents needed for this Canada waka from the school. My duties at the school includes: Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate, through school principals, the academic affairs of a school district Evaluate curriculum, teaching methods and community participation in programs for a school district and revise programs as required Develop and administer programs for the education and training of students and adults Make recommendations concerning the annual operating budget of a school district Direct or supervise the recruitment, appointment, training, evaluation and promotion of teaching personnel. I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS 1. WHICH IS THE BEST AND APPROPRIATE NOC CODE TO USE? 0422 - School principals and administrators of elementary and secondary education (Skill type 0) 4112 - Lawyers and Quebec notaries (Skill type A) 2. DO I NEED REFERENCE LETTERS FROM THE LAW FIRMS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY WORKED FOR even though I have been at the school for the past 4 years. Can I use reference letter from only the school? Thank you. |

nasohian: Sir/ma, as long as any of those links didn't mention such, then it's not a necessity. I think those are only required, alongside payslip and appointment letter, if any other colleague is writing the reference letter using a plain paper. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by shadama: 7:21am On Nov 22, 2020 |
MaamCita:I'm no expert and it's not my NOC but from what I'm seeing even though there are similar roles, NOC 1241 has more responsibilities e.g "set up filing systems" while the 1411 only files according to existing systems, "answer phone calls", "edit and proofread correspondence" as compared to 1411 that only prepares reports (probably gets proofread by a senior). All in all, 1241 looks more like the work of a secretary while 1411 more like office hands, helping around but no senior responsibilities. I assume you're asking because you want to use 1241 but don't want it to be deemed as wrong NOC when compared with 1411. I'd advise your job description in your ref letter should include some key words that show some decision making and responsibility in your duties. |

I wrote the IELTS exam yesterday Mehn! It was tough. Sadly I got distracted in the listening and missed some questions. I'm so angry with myself. As for the writing, it was a race against time. I didn't have time to correct errors. I could see them but we had already been asked to drop our pencils. I think I did well in the reading aspect while the speaking was just okay. I wrote with MOD/IDP. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope that I scale through. 13 Likes |

TOdus18: I can imagine. For listening, keep fingers crossed, bearing in mind that it would take you to fail atleast 4 questions to fail (below 8 points). For writing, i pray you get above 6 5. Because its advised to always finish up and check for errors once you hear "5 mins remaining". It's actually this unchecked error that cuts marks and reduces the points. Please let us know when you pass. It is well. 1 Like |

Hello Guys, I hope your sunday is going well. I finally summoned courage to go down this route but being someone who likes doing feasibility study to see if i can be selected, i used that CRS tool to see my possible score and it is 416 which is a far cry from the 471 minimum required. I reallydo not want to waste my time but then i added that i have a provincial nomination and the thing shot up to almost 1000. What i want to know now is, what is the likelihood of someone getting nominated by a province? |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by phabulous88(m): 11:04am On Nov 22, 2020 |
hedonister: People get provincial nomination all the time. Don’t be discouraged, start the process and explore the following options to increase your score: Max out IELTS Learn French and max out the TEF. The longer you wait, the more points you loose whenever you celebrate your birthday. |

Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Debbieeeeeee: 11:30am On Nov 22, 2020 |
hedonister: Aim for 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 LRWS in IELTS and also take French. If your occupation is in demand in any province in Canada you’ll get a nomination. Just try to increase your scores and be resilient no matter how many times you retake IELTS. Always bear in mind that Canada is the goal , so matter how long it takes the aim is to get there. 2 Likes |

Hello all, I have a question and looking for anyone who has experienced such before. I have a friend presently in canada who recently got COPR last week, however she said this COPR invalidated all her previous visa and she has to wait until she get her PR card before she can travel out of canada. She already has a ticket to Nigeria due for next week. I want to know if COPR truly invalidates one's previous canada visa thereby eliminating travels until PR is received. And if true if there is any avenue to plea with immigration to grant her leway to travel. |
