This thread is created to express my opinion, suspicion and possibility to the build up of 2023 presidential election. Regions that may feel insulted or embarrassed by my expression should forgive me.
There has been several permutations regarding the region the two major political parties may likely zone their ticket to. Some people in their own thinking believe in the spirit of fairness, it should be the turn of the southeast. However, democracy is a game of number and people should not be sentimental about the concept of forceful zoning of presidential ticket to a subset of a specific zone(i.e southeast out of the entire south)
Very recently, the Governor of Ebonyi decamped to APC and people have been coming up with the idea that he is an achiever with unblemish record and should be paired with a somebody like Zulum of Bornu State. With the recent happenings, some people have concluded that APC will most likely zone its ticket to southeast. Possibility of that happening is what I cannot say as there are several power block, interest and division in the party. But the question remain can a southeast presidential flagbearer in APC command enough votes in the North and not lose to a formidable Northern politician in another party?
For PDP, I am 95% certain that this party will never cede their ticket to the south east. Bare it in mind that PDP as a party is definitely hungry for power and the only way they can get this is by presenting a Northerner who is as popular as Buhari as its flagbearer. The only person who can muster enough votes from the North and also get substantial number of votes from south is Atiku Abubakar. If PDP fields Atiku and APC fields any candidate from the south east, there's every possibility Atiku will defeat APC candidate. If this eventually happen, Buhari and Co will tell southeast that they have done justice by presenting a southeasterner as the party flagbearer and people voted for their choice, hence the agitation for Southeasterner for president has failed.
Options available without sentiment and tribal consideration within APC.

Osinbajo/Zulum- There's every possibility the present V.P may not have interest in running for the most exhalted position in Nigeria. Even if he does, his faith(christian) may sell him out and the north may not be comfortable with him.

Amaechi/El-rufai- A good combination but El- Rufai bigotry character and poor handling of security situation especially in southern kaduna will sell him out.

Tinubu/Dogara- If there's one politician that could match Atiku for his money and pose a threat to Atiku in terms of votes in the North, it is Tinubu. He has allies in the North(e.g Kano Governor) that can mobilise necessary resources for his election. He is a Muslim and northerners may feel relaxed voting for him. Although religion should not be a basis for voting but Nigeria factor and our way of thinking is responsible for this. Bullion van allegation on the eve of election continue to ring in people's memory, however, he remains a formidable threat.

Orji Kalu/ Zulum- Kalu is also been touted as a possible flagbearer of APC but corruption allegations of billions of Naira during his administration as governor of Abia State is a serious limiting factor. He's also regarded as an ex-convict although court has dismissed the previous charges while a fresh charges is underway.

Who do you think APC should present that can guarantee their success at the poll? This candidate should be capable to unite this country, be decisive, ready to bring the needed change, not bias, devoid of favoritism and possible have the ball to restructure this country.

APC does not have any formidable candidate because APC can not stand on its own without Buhari. Everything about APC is centred around Buhari. In my Opinion, the plan to zone the presidency to the Southeast by the APC is a Greek gift. The only party that can genuinely guarantee southeast presidency is PDP. Let PDP present Atiku to wrestle power away from APC first then, it will be easy for the southeast to produce the president. But for APC to make southeasterner their candidate, it is fa fa fa, fowl.

Tinubu is the most popular in APC but countless splinter forces have risen to stop him already. They reason he should goan and enjoy his loot in peace and allow young Turks run things. He can only be president in Iragbiji republic from the pictures on ground.
