Ignoring the fact that you jumped into a lot of wrong assumptions.

1. I called for remark of only writing, I had 8.5 in the rest and didn't need anything extra
2. It was already 19 days of total silence before I started disturbing them.

Eyah I am sorry. Sincerely sorry. What will you do now ? What's your present score ?

Good morning All,

Got a good score in IELTS after six earlier attempts. Given the facts below, will my score reduce if I do not enter pool now?

IELTS: S8, R9, L9, W7
Current Score on CRS tool checker - 472
Primary Applicant - Age 33 (will be 34year by July, 2021)
Secondary Applicant – Age 35 (will be 36years old by December 3, 2020) - will this reduce the score if I submit after her birthday?

I will appreciate views on this. Thank you.

Did you submit your profile earlier today ?

You’ll sit in front of a computer grin .
On a very serious note, it’s nothing spectacular. Listening is first , followed by reading and then writing.

For writing I used Liz and it really helped me , I learned how to write the background & thesis statement(for introduction) and also a good conclusion and on my second attempt I made 7.5 in writing as opposed to 6.5 I had previously when I wrote a longgggg essay.

For reading, it’s just being able to read and comprehend whatever they’ve paraphrased because IELTS is really big on paraphrasing, also choosing an appropriate heading for the short write ups.

Speaking depends on your ability to contract words and also speak meaningfully and coherently without pausing too much.

Listening gave me problem because I dey always lose concentration And it was as though I was unlucky with the questions shuffled to me cry so I scored 7.5 twice in listening.
I’ll share my IELTS story soon.

Hello again Seniors in the house,
I just want your advice as I near the end of this interesting journey.

My AoR is March 2019; from my last GCMS notes eligibility is passed, background check (security + criminality) pending. However last week there were 2 GUs on medical which was extended and background which changed from to "we are processing..." Then again on Monday I noticed another update "we are reviewing your additional documents"... Now my question:

My POF was initially in my wife's name which we provided a LOE during the application. Several months ago, the investments matured and we liquidated converted to USD and lodged into my account. (NB: I have in excess of the minimum)

Question: do I need to send another LOE to notify them, while attaching all the supporting bank statements?.

Thanks to help with your advice.

I don't think you need to do anything, this is just my opinion.

Your POF is still intact, it just changed form.....from an illiquid currency to a more convertible one grin

Extension of medicals is good news (was it extended for a year?).....more good news soon.

Okay thank you for your response... but what if I borrowed someone and he paid back? What kind of proof can I give for that?

kiari:

Having a huge sum in your account does not mean anything whether 6 months or more, you must explain where that money came from, yes it is a must! That’s why it is called PROOF OF FUNDS, you must show documents of how that money came to be, “sale of property, salary savings, gift.. So my dear you can’t ignore.

can u tell me how it is
Produced here is my take on IELTS CBT and PBT. I wrote it in part 9 of the EE thread. Read below.

This is really depending on how you adapt to new ideas/change. Many dread CBT for the listening part, but I can tell you there is not much typing to be done during the listening test as it is mainly section 1 and 4 that requires typing mostly. Other sections are usually MCQs that just require clicking, and other part just dragging answers. That said, you are still given pencil and paper for your use if you think it is necessary. In my view, I will suggest you use the pencil to write your answers to section 4 only because that part of the recording is usually fast and a bit tricky in most cases. So writing on paper first and transferring to the screen would allow you follow the conversation to a great extent.

On the reading part, CBT is more convenient in my view as you don't need to be turning pages of papers back and forth. The question is beside the passage. And you can use copy and paste from the question to the answer where necessary. Running your eyes through the screen would also be faster than doing same on paper I believe. Scheming things.

For writing, this is the game changer for me in IELTS CBT. Some of the reasons for this include: the system shows you the number of words you have written, you can easily cut, backspace or realign your writing without the burden of using eraser like in the PBT therefore saving you time. Typing is also much faster than writing manually which in turn will give you more time to review your work for any possible error.

The speaking test is the same for CBT and PBT. An interview session with an examiner.

Overall, the beauty of CBT for me is the 7 days turnaround time for result to be released. The 13 days waiting for PBT is hell given the high stake of the test. You don't want to keep playing the recording of the listening test in your head for 13 days and wondering if you got a spelling right or if you wrote plural when it was supposed to be singular. But in all, you still have to ask yourself if you are ready to adapt to change and test the waters of CBT.

PS: Passing IELTS is first a thing of the mind. Prepare well, understand the tricks, especially in writing and speaking; relax and don't be anxious in the test hall. You will not be caught in the web of taking the test more than once. Cheers.

In the listening test there is no room for errors in spelling and mixing up singular/plural words . That’s probably why you scored 7.5
