I Want To Set Up A Private Equity/hedge Fund In Nigeria; I Need Advice. by Nobody: 1:49am On Nov 24, 2020
Hi NLers, I need your advice, Am planning on setting up a hedge fund/private equity fund that invests in nigeria. I have already developed an investing strategy that gives a turn over of 40% per month on average, but I'd like to diversify the portfolio to other investments available in nigeria....not to make this long; I need your honest advice on investing in agriculture, real estate and transportation in Nigeria, although not limited to these, I'd like to know the possible risks and government regulation concerning hedge funds in Nigeria.

You have to register your hedgefund with SEC else, EFCC will come after you.

Note that Sec will never approve a hedgefund that promises 40% monthly returns (you stand a chance with 40% annual returns).

Not sure of this but I think your hedgefund company must have a capital base of close to 500 million naira.

Check the Security and Exchange Commission website for details

Thanks for this, but if I register the hedge fund in a country like say Benin Republic, is it still possible to operate in Nigeria as a foreign based fund.
And also am not promising investors 40% it's only what I know I can achieve. Looking at 5% per month although I've noticed that except for high net worth individuals must people especially millennials are looking for higher returns.

40% per month is high, even banks with the billions make 10% - 35% ROI y/y.
If you are a Nigerian citizen but have company based in Benin Republic or anywhere else, You can still invest here.
Also visit the SEC to know the documentation required & Minimum capitalization.

Don't mind him, he is one of those Ponzi scheme scammers, looking for who to defraud. Telling us that an investment generates 40% returns per month, has shown the kind of person u are.

yes I'm triggered that someone who's a member of this platform that has different tribes from all over the country will derive joy in talking down on a particular tribe and hating for no reason.
I think you're the one who needs to grow up and stop talking down on a specific tribe in a national platform

But what's the issue with nigerians..

If you note that from my thread I hardly solicited for money, partners or investors, but you come here to embarrass yourself, Because you are in that line of business doesn't mean everyone is, I checked your profile and I can see that you're one of those binary options scammers, You're on a pathway to prison if you don't desist.

I do not hate, I only counter falsehood...that particular tribe you're talking about make up to 40% of my workforce, if I hate them I wouldn't employ them.
Please grow up and leave my thread if you have nothing reasonable to add.

Who is binary options scammer? Did you see where I mention 40% ROI Investment? Has anybody call me out?.
Well, people like u do succeed in Nigeria, because we have a lot greedy people in this country. An Investment is yielding you 40% returns every month? Ha fear God o. The reason u created this thread is to lure people to believe u are actually earning 40% ROI every month, thereby asking u for way.

You're obviously trying to derail this thread...
I quite understand that with the recession in the country most people are angry, jobless, hungry and looking for who to take
out their frustrations on, unfortunately am not the cause of your calamities in life, maybe your business has been a total failure which is why you resort to binary which most people know is a scam reason they ignore your thread, it's why you think that certain profit returns aren't possible which is why you'll probably remain poor, broke and frustrated in life if you don't change that mindset, the time you use to do this, why don't you take an online course and develop yourself as a person, or go into agriculture(there are quite a number of educative nairaland threads on agriculture), do something that will improve your life instead of displaying stupidity on a place of public discourse. If you have nothing reasonable to add, kindly stop spamming this thread and let those with reasonable contributions do so. Thanks

I checked the number you kept for the ad you kept on binary scam, look how hungry and emaciated you're looking in that picture, you're probably someone in his 40s frustrated with life.. grin grin ...no wonder your foolishness is unending; a fool at 40 is a fool forever.....you come to my thread accusing me for scamming people when am only asking for advice, meanwhile you're doing the exact same thing you're accusing me for....I was even advising the bastard to go do an online course thinking he was a lazy youth not knowing that you're a daddy behaving like a toddler.... I could easily have you investigated by the police but looking like this how will you now look in kirikiri when you're imprisoned for fraud.... you think you can't be tracked and arrested right? My problem with u is that, for u to tell us that ur Investment is yielding 40% shows that the Investment is Ponzi. No reasonable Investors will Invest his hard earned money on investment that generates 40% returns every month. Even Investment regulatory bodies will just chase u out of their office the moment u promise ur Investors 40% returns. Because any right thinking person knows that it is not visible for a genuine business to generate profit of 40% every month. Even Dangote does not pay his Investors 40% returns every month.
