The war between Catholics and protestants is the thirty years war, and started because in the holy Roman empire, the emperor tried to impose Catholicism on his domains. Not because of some salvation being bought with money or any of those stuff.

Even so the thirty years(Catholics Vs protestants) war self isn't the most bloodiest war in history. Chaii when there's hundred years war between England and France, world war II, Punic wars, Mongol conquests of middle East and so on. If not for the crusades Europe would have been saying Asamalekun as greetings. I have much more but I don't want to derail the thread.
