Well
You have a point
But still
That does not absolve him from blame
He is NOT doing a good job as a central bank governor ans should do better

Oh I never said he was blameless, after all he owns all the decisions whether he made them or not.
In his defence, every single member of this government is doing a more or less equally useless job.

Maybe Nigeria 's case is just a peculiar one
Because under normal circumstance
I would have said let the naira float
While the central bank do some injections here and there in the side

But Nigerians being Nigerians
They may want to use that as an opportunity to fleece this country undecided

I'm of the belief (and many of you who have been following my comments for months here will note ) that Nigerians indeed are living a lifestyle that we dont deserve, or afford
Let the naira reflect its fair value
Or something close to that at least
I would rather have the currency float; instead of always intervening left and right
But then....
This is Nigeria
A floating currency and less barriers will see the our forex position improve because generally speaking, countries with more liberalized currency climates get more inflows of forex because they are sure that at least
When it's time to get out, they will do so at market rates; and no stories

Case in point: Emefiele violating CCI agreements and keeping foreign folks who want to repatriate their money stuck here.
Such behaviour does not encourage capital inflows

Nigeria will be a much better place when we make some of these changes (this in addition to removal of interventions totally on petrol)

You can't go back and forth when you've not even gone forth.

You're there calling someone who's obviously miles ahead of you in intelligence a goat, and we simply asked you to say what you would do better than him.

You couldn't go even one forth to mention just one thing. You're there saying back and forth. Silly excuse from someone making a baseless claim.

There's nothing wrong in admitting to making silly arguments. Admit, learn, and move forward, it doesn't reduce you.

He mentioned one ke. He said he will remove the multiple exchange rates. cool

All rates are around 380, so where's the multiple exchange rates.
He's yet to mention any!

I'm nor sure UBA will be at that price anytime soon.

Thats why SOMETIMES, subject to your entry price, a BUY AND HOLD STRATEGY is ideal

Boss, your stock price will never stay constant at N5 or be growing at 15% or 20% annually and you will not be making N1 dividend per share annually for 43 years. If you really know how the stock market works, you won’t make these basic assumptions.

You can use that table to teach beginners the power of compounding but not for anyone to apply it to investing in the NSE. Stock investing is not as simple as that.

Is it not the same way some people here were forecasting how T Bill rates will continue to stay high and how they could become billionaires by just investing in Treasury bills and compounding their small change money to grow to one billion Naira after some years? grin

Someone who bought and held say Zenith Bank and Okomu Oil and even UBA ten years back
And bought at a steady rate over time
Even when the price dipped
Will not be in a loss making position right now

Just saying

At least I know how I did it this year, I will be able to repeat it next year.

A very great lesson I have learned.

Especially when I know that the stock is a dividends paying stock that will return at least >8% on an annual basis
There really is no need IMO to do what we call "JIJO" in the other thread
Though if the share price appreciate by over 100% ; you may want to trim your position a lil bit, to use that same cash to re enter when there is a dip to get more units.

Anyways
Let's see what next year hold for us

Like Bill Ackman will say
You cant go wrong (well most of the time) investing in an industry leader who grows his revenue year on year; and have a healthy P/E ratio, cash flow and reasonable debt.

Its that simple
Well at least to me

Things have been moving since after the mail I sent copying first contact and cbn.
He first told me to write for the loan to be officially closed and yesterday,he sent a message that I should officially write again that treasury should release my money which I couldn't go yesterday but did it first thing today.
Immediately I walked into the bank, the lady that told me it will take time before and a second lady who told me she doesn't know if the money dropped starting saying "madam why now,why now ,that mail you sent, our boss called and directed we conclude the case asap that's why we told you to come and write yesterday bla bla bla at least you have now seen that indeed treasury withheld your money bla bla bla".but I told them to give me paper to officially write what I came to write and after writing,I told them I am closing the account once the money drops and other accounts I have with first bank and they became cold and I just walked out.
Infact I don't know how this case would have been if I dint involve you guys.
I really appreciate all the advice I got here.
I am now certain an alert will come and
I don't feel guilty cos they are trying to make me.
Madam Tracy how far na? Any update from Oga pot belly side?

You must have recovered the amount invested about 4 years ago through dividends, paid a dividend of 50k per share last year and you are currently on a capital appreciation of about 400% in less than 8 years

Possible if you annualize it for some companies and businesses, depending on the growth of the sector and business.

A business can have a 100% increase in profit in a year, Nestle Nigeria has been having a double digits growth in profit for the past 20 years the company increases prices at will and demand will also increase instead of decreasing.

The people invited to invest in MTN Nigeria in 2000, now have their N10 million grown to N4 billion in less than 20 years, earning annual dividend of over N200 million in a year.

So in business and Investment anything can happen, especially if their is a huge demand and growth opportunities for the products or services rendered by the business

But MTN shareholders never got dividend for 10 years, the investment could also fail. Just like the $100 million First Bank lost trying to finance IIL acquisition of NITEL over 20 years.

Vice President is also a shareholder of MTN earning dividend of about N100 million, Pascal Dozie earning dividend of about N4 billion at the age of 80.

But there are still opportunities in the market for 10% annually right now.

Look at updc REIT I was begging someone to buy at N3.80 last month... Lol

Thank you

(it's not on my watch list though, just surprised at the result)

Yes, his law firm Simmons Cooper and Partners is one of the biggest law firms that specializes in Business and Commercial law.

As a lawyer who specializes in business and commercial law, he gets information about juicy deals coming into the country before most of us get to know about such opportunities, he also has the resources and network to carry out due diligence on such opportunities
