The insult is also natural abi
Just call a spade a spade
The universe does not begin and end with your own definition of right and wrong.

The way people behave under different conditions differs and you must learn to accept those differences.

From this your perspective, it is not even a breach on one's privacy or security because one must had written applications to different companies in which one will put down one's numbers and mail addresses.

Beside, do you think only those you give your number has it. As a matter of fact, there are more people whom you didn't your number but have it out there.

Thank you.

Let him continue talking nonsense and think he is making sense.

I do not support the lady's rudeness, but the company should have informed her on the method they would use to contact her in case she was selected. It is just standard procedure.

so if customers come to tha company, so before they say they are customers this same rude girl with smelly pussy will still insults them abi?

this your comment is out of point... no company will ever tell you how their interview will come or look like...

a girl also loosed her fiance just becos she spoke rudely to a woman in a bus who she later discovered that tha same woman she spoke rudely to in tha bus, was her mother-inlaw to be... will you allow such lady to marry your brother if she were to be your brother's fianceé?

I agree, but try and look at it from this perspective : you receiving a text from an anonymous number on WhatsApp is a breach on your privacy and security. And as you know, this is 9ja, and you cannot vouch for the next man. So her response is only natural given the circumstances
I respect you opinion bros, but i dissagree with you Sir!

No, the company didn't have to inform her the mode of contact. That is why you give your VALID numbers and mail addresses during job application.

They may want to test how you relate with people (strangers especially). The way you tested this aunty, I suppose.

That is too sensible for his brain.

no organization will tell you "we will whatsapp u"
When you are submitting ur email and number,u should be expecting response via any means.

My own interview was via whatsapp and it was sweet because It gave me the time to put down good responses without the pressure of eyes staring at u... In this digital age, expect anything...communications are shifting online.

She's a rude person,that's the fact.

Someone greeted respectfully, greet them back nicely before asking who they are in a sane manner too.
It's when the person starts crossing the line before you strike at them.

That is why I always tell people "learn how not to transfer aggression"
Maybe something dey vex her before she come online, she come use the guy as anger absorber.
Oga, stop using the general shithole-nigerian standards to acknowledge the rubbish done by this company.

What happened to their HR?

The company is lucky this is rubbish happened in Nigeria.Had it been it were another country na lawsuits go follow their papa.

Oga, in saner climes, there is what we call a "Standard Procedure" of recruitment.

This is done by companies with an organised structure on ground and most of these companies (except you are running a mushroom company ) have this standard procedure for REACHING out to applicants. It can be through SMS, WhatsApp, Social media, Newspapers etc.

These companies will notify you(the applicant) prior to when the outcome of the interview is out.

And not through impromptu tactics being done here by this...this...chai! I do not know even know what to call this company sef.

she dropped her number and her whatsapp number, they cant be mad by not telling her that they will get in touch with her... so which one be impromtu? abi na mumu be this jashub...?

Hu and 5n , Jesus what are these generation learning ? I think Emmanuel is more wrong, no proper structured company send messages like over WhatsApp, it must in an official mail, it already tells that its a small company, also introduce yourself. Playing Devil's advocate, it's normal for ladies to have intrusive messages or even fraudulent messages or insistent toasters.
On Mary's side, when engaging with anyone you should always be professional and courteous. You never know who you might be chatting or talking with. It causes nothing to ask sorry who am I speaking with ? and if it doesn't go that far as you want, don't reply. Someone with that type of attitude especially with poor spelling. I wouldn't hire such to talk with client esp with that attitude. All these will have been simple if Emmanuel did a proper introduction. They are both wrong sha and Emmaneul was unprofessional also.
what are u even saying?
U can't tell a company how to contact their applicants.
Which law states it is not right reach ur applicants via whatsapp?

All these Nigerians and their bend ways of reasoning.
I got a job via whatsapp interview.
If this system is new to u then u need exposure.

The fact is she's rude.
When u receive a polite message, greet them back before kindly asking who they are.

After that,if they start going of rail,u can strike.

When you apply for job or contract ND u come receive whatsapp message, act like she did.

Does the company give a shit about u?
Who are you to tell institutions how they should reach their applicants?
If at this age u think whatsapp is just for ur friends and love affairs, then u need to upgrade

Typical Nigerians just rush into making emotion based comments without actually looking at things from both sides.

Both parties are at fault.

What makes an Email more professional and Whatapp Unprofessional when both are being used for both personal and business related issues? Who gave such law?

I totally disagree with you, there's never an procedures laid down for companies in choosing their mode of interview. Some can go through lot's of means, whether via phone calls, chats et,c unnotified just to test your customer's relationship, level of tolerance and so much more. Even some companies can go as far as checking up your past post on your social media handles, just to name a few. Only unfortunate majority of us no longer use our official names on social media most especially the ladies.

Inform her every organization has a different way of doing things, that’s their own way... even in my little firm, I do that too and trust me ladies always fail.. still wondering why is it always ladies??

There's a standard procedure to things like this.

No professional firm in Nigeria would engage you on behalf of the company via WhatsApp.

The girl was rude yes, but the HR guy has his own share of the fault too.

I'm not comfortable exchanging pleasantries and greetings with an unknown number. Just introduce yourself and go straight to the point. it's that simple.

Most ladies lack manners. I can remember last year during Jamb registration, a lady was having a serious issue doing regularisation of admission. She went to Jamb Office Umuahia but the person she met there directed her to come to my CBT center. That she should ask of Matthew (Which is me) that he will do it perfectly and settle the lingering problem easier. She was trying to go for service.

On getting to my office, I met her at the door. "Hellooo, good morning how are you and how may we be of help to you today" I said to her. The funny girl looked at me from hair to toe hissed and replied; "it's like you lack manners" maybe because she was brought in a Toyota Camry 2004 model. I felt like the ground to open and swallow me. I went out being embarrassed. The poor girl went into my office to report me to my staff. That it's like these stupid boys that work here are mannerless. The girl apologized, not knowing she was referring to me. She then said she was sent from Jamb office to meet one Mr Matthew. I was called. When I came in she found out that it was the same stupid boy she embarrassed at the entrance. She was silent for more than 5 minutes. The next thing was apology.
Trust me, I accepted the apology but I delayed her till jamb closed the portal for regularisation. At least she lost a year cos of that.
Women are just something else
I'm happy u delayed her bro,I owe you one bottle of chilled beergrin

Mr Emmanuel was not wrong for starting the conversation with a "Hello, Good evening Mary". Read that 100 times till you understand.

And how in the world is he supposed to introduce himself when he's supposed to confirm first of all that it's actually Mary he's chatting with? undecided
Did you even read the full story where he said he tried calling her 3 times and she didn't pick, only for him to try maybe he can reach her on whatsapp? So why should he introduce himself when he doesn't know if that whatsapp contact belongs to Mary?
Think!
Typical Nigerian mentality. undecided

Language and writing is fluid and is often determined by prevalent culture and time. At a time in history even the word "who" was not spelt that way.
