I am all in for job creations. Biden has a big job ahead of him. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes now with a mess created by the inept Trump.

I bet he does, so long as he pays those the debt is owed to with interest, which would be difficult to do, or easy, since Dems control the House of Reps.

Problem though. How do future students fund their education?

Those who owed and managed to pay up their student loans will they get reimbursed?

It is very debatable as at now especially with Trump ballooning the National Debt to over $7 Trillion with his wreck less tax cuts and wasteful spending. Interesting time ahead in the Fruited Plains.

Ivy league have huge endowments. They can afford to write off debts.
Community colleges, who will pay them?
Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or Zuckerberg?

To be honest I'm resigned to Biden being sworn in , though I still think there's a chance he may not.

How many percetage of the population have student loans? what of Blue collar people who will pay for their welding, hairdressing, plumbing training, the boxer, the model who incurred loans to get personal trainers who will pay for them?

Or is this just for the elite who went to college?

That's why I asked the question. It's a very dicey situation but some things needs to be done because of the compounding interests on the student loans. I know 9f a young medical doctor still going through internship that told me he owes $150.000 in student loans. How do you pay that off with the compounding interests.
Doctors, especially the specialists, can pay off their 6-figure loans within 10 years or less. The main issue concerns people who majored in architecture (and some low-paying majors) and had to rack up $50k in student loan debt because their public university unreasonably jacked up their tuition.

You are right. Imagine someone paying that loan of $50k with salary of $40k with all the other Bill's that will come his pr her way. God help these young graduates.

Whenever I use my CC, I never let it carry over. I pay it off at the end of the billing month because I am not paying any interest to anyone. Been doing that for over twenty years now and I can proudly say I do not owe a dime in CC bill. I hate to be used by these sharks calling themselves Banks or Financial lenders.

PDPGuy, that's the only way to go to be financially successful in America. I am telling my girls to go that way. I only have two months to pay off my mortgage because wifey and I never refinanced once in 20 years of buying our home. I hate to owe especially when you have to pay with the stupid interest rate that only benefits the Banks.

They are literally not elites if they have student loans as you claim
And as you claim what happen to blue collar worker, i am sorry to say nothing

Why dont you ask this question when people who contributed to social security and medicaid dies before they are qualified for it, what happens to that money ?

The basic point is, the government in the long run, would have to bail out the banks and financial institutions . Why not leverage a deal, that would bail out debtors and the money still gets to the banks it basic

this your argument is oranges and apple arguments

Lmao, I can tell you ivy league students aren't the ones racking up student loans

Student loans are mostly from public universities, and ivy leagues are mostly privates, that is the real school of elites.

There are other debts that affect more people and have far reaching effects than Student loans which is for those who go to college. Just about 1/3rd of Americans go to college and going to college is optional. Its an investment in your future and like every investment you have to pay for it
Its not compulsory to go to college.

The credit goes to my wife because she's the one that refuses to refinance whenever the sharks are telling us the interest rate is lower than the 4.3% we got for the 30 year mortgage then. She always make sure we pay more than our monthly mortgage even if it's $200 more monthly and that reduces the years we have on our mortgage. I guess some people don't like owing these Shylocks calling themselves lenders.

That's another issue, I guess, but do not forget that some did go to almost free education and we never asked them to pay back with interest when we converted to loans. We can give them a tax rebate instead, like put them on a lower tax code reflecting they paid their debt or something since its unlikely the cash would ever be forked out up front.

I got to admit that this will be harder than Obamacare, but something needs to be done about the ever skyrocketing student loans before students revolt and elope to Cuba so they don't have to pay it back. Delinquency is costing taxpayers tons as it is.

I will think they should just use that energy for Obamacare as healthcare affects everyone OR/AND the Dreamers act. Leave Student Loans. Don't waste political goodwill on Student loans when more serious issues are pending. Its Bidens regime I hope he does the right thing

I don't agree that SL should be left alone because too many learning institutions are fleecing students, and taxpayers.

There are many schools out there you can go to. And there are many courses you can do. If you want to study Butterfly science, why should tax payers (some who didnt go to college and some who paid off their own loans) pay for it? Its an investment in your future that will make you money so why dont you invest in it.
Study courses that pay more and make money

As a lawyer you can make a lot of money in your career and you can work till you are 80yrs, A lot of lawyers are millionaires and these costs are demand/Supply. More people want to study Law, So they charge more for it

Meanwhile!

fergie001:
The United States Government has added Nigeria to its blacklist as one of the countries that have engaged in “severe violations of religious freedom.”

The Trump administration had in December 2019, added Nigeria to a Special Watch List of countries tolerating violent crimes against religious freedom.

Today, the United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, had announced that Nigeria has been added to the "blacklist" on violations against religious freedom.

Well, seems to me you ignore the problem of the cost to taxpayers under the current loan system.

I don't need to research anything. Signature on the envelope and ballot are matched before counting, then the envelope is thrown away. So anyone asking for signature match after the envelope has already been thrown away is on a wild goose chase. The Law has already been observed and it provides only for signature matching at the counting stage, not after.

There is a reason for the law, and Trumpists must be dumb to think that you will save 5 million envelopes to match with 5 million ballots later. From a logistical point of view, even in a counting centre with just 1,000 voters, to find the signature for a single ballot, you potentially have to ruffle through 1,000 envelopes for each ballot. Apply that to counting centres with tens of thousands of batches and we have combination factorials running into the millions. No state supreme court will mandate physical matching of envelopes to ballots post election. Witness from a mathematician will rule out that possibility with any judge.

All they can recommend is sample auditing of one signature say every 1000 envelopes for future elections, or digital scanning of both envelope and ballot into a machine at the point of counting. To talk of physical signature matching after the fact is foolishness.

Trump is a habitual and remorseless liar. Having seen his Dominion theory fall by the wayside, he then starts talking of signature matching which is too late, practically impossible and beyond the logistical comprehension of his double digit IQ supporters.
Those dolts don't know this. All they know is shout 'fraud, fraud, fraud' like a broken record. My dog is way smarter and intelligent than those brain damaged Trumpeters imps... Awon wherey cheesy
