There is word that retired Four Star General Lloyd Austin will be the next Defence Secretary. That's a good one from President elect Biden. If Gen Austin is confirmed by the Senate, he would be the first African American to be the Secretary of Defense in American History.

Why could he not pick a civilian.
I read that his confirmation may not even be as easy as Mattis was and Biden broke the norm by nominating someone who retired 7 years ago he could be granted a waiver and confirmed since Michele Flournoy could not get it because progressives called her a war hawk why should he when the same progressives are complaining that he is a part of one Raytheon company that is a weapon manufacturer or defense contractor
Biden should have appointed a civilian and one with no ties of being a defense contractor

The worries about her were overblown and she was more qualified than this one or Johnson.

Public Universities , some degrees on offer are just absurd.They will hardly get you a job.

Public universities debts is huge because of more students I agree.
Many graduates end up doing menial jobs, especially immigrants.

No, this is a well known Four Star General that was well respected but he wasn't a media darling and there's no where in the constitution that said a Four Star General couldn't be a Secretary of Defense but you rightly said that he would need a waiver. A lot of opposition to General Austin has to do with his skin color but the press wouldn't admit to that. Ms Lindsey Graham is butthurt with Trump losing.

Sir, ivy league students don't Get student loans as you are making it seem, it is mostly rich students or people on scholarship end up in those schools. They are expensive, yes, but entry rate is very very very low.
