Hi JustMellow,

Thanks a mil for your advice! I opened the GIC account 3 weeks ago (November 26).

Like you've said, I will ask the bank for a letter that says "Student Loan". All our correspondences up until now have only said "Loan". Fingers crossed.

My plan is to offset the debt when I resign (I will be eligible for some funds from the company on resignation). I don't know if I should mention this, as I don't know how to prove this.

Thanks again!

JustMellow:

Hello Jonosas,

For the above stated, what you need are evidence /documentations to back the available funds at your disposal. When did you open the GIC account?!

You still have time to justify and balance your books in regards to your POF. As it is, your funds seems all clear but ensure to demonstrate how you intend to offset the loan.

It may be advised to approach the concerned bank that granted the load and get an authenticated letter to the effect. Endeavour the letter states clearly "Study Loan" not just "Loan."

Since it has been liquidated to your BA, more better and this gives good credibility to the purpose of the course.

In your letter, ensure to have a section talk about the breakdown of your funds if feasible, have a separate letter to briefly but yet clear enough to address your funds and situation surrounding it.

Reiterating again, get a letter or any authenticated evidence from the concerned financial instituation station relevant details like when the study loan was granted, date of liquidation, receiving account and other useful details that can be helpful to your application.

Study loan has an advantage in the sense of using it as a solid form of HT which indicates your return back home to repay back the study loan in order to relieve your family and guarantor off pressure.

You're standing on a goldmine but depending how well you're able to structure your ideas in your letter. However, don't make it too obvious, try to also demonstrate your economic level of establishment too.

All the best

Thanks bro! I have published my final year project, so I’m hoping it gives me some sort of leverage when applying for both MSC and PGD! Also bro when can I start applying to schools? I’m going for Service anytime between Feb -March! But I’m thinking of applying for the Jan 22 Winter admission or
What do you think?
Yes it can, and if you have a good CGPA (minimum of B, 70%) in your last two years e.g 400L & 500L or 300L & 400L, they might be a consideration for you.

Endeavor to look for an M.SC in Biochemistry program, M.SC in Food Science or related program, secure a Supervisor, if you are able to secure a Supervisor, then all other things should fall in place as regards your M.SC Admission.

M.SC in Biochemistry Programs

M.SC in Food Science Programs
https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Food+Science&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH

Most Masters program are always available for Fall Intake, but seems there are Winter Intakes available, u can do a research on that

Full guides on how to apply for MASTERS or PH.D programs in Canadian Universities, Secure a Supervisor (Professor) and also get possible FUNDING (SCHOLARSHIP)
https://www.nairaland.com/5818588/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/111#90933556

Masters Admission do take a long duration , like 2-5months, the wahala of getting a Supervisor is what makes the Admission take time, but some people are lucky that they get response much earlier.

If u are projecting for Jan 2022, then u can start getting across to Profs. Starting from February/March 2021

Hopefully u get something positive on your M.SC intentions, in case it ain't coming forth, PG. Cert is your next plug

U can use your service period to do serious research on all of this.

The thing is, if you luckily get a Supervisor who is ready to supervise you, then ask him/her when you can apply for the M.SC admission

Good luck

Normally, most schools application start a year before the intake. (i.e if you want to start September 2021, application opens September 2020). But depending on the school and course, not every course have 3-intake (Jan, May and Sept) in a year. Some only have one intake, mostly September. So try to know which school and courses available for Jan 2022 intake, and application for such opens Jan 2021 (The application deadline may be within 3-4 months after it opens) All depends on the school and course.

It's better to find out and decide on the sch and course as early as possible, so that you'll know when the application opens and closes, and what intake will be best for you.

Do you think getting the upfront medicals done helped fasten your application timeline?
Generally having an upfront medical fastens your application, however, an upfront medical isn't a guaranty for application approval, for me, I just took a step of faith and went ahead after 2-3 months of not hearing from them.

Yes u are right,

Interestingly, this can be likened to a First Class student who applied for an Ordinary Diploma.

Its now left for the Visa Officer (VO) to decide if the reasons for going for a ordinary diploma is cogent enough, cos the VO do make decisions based on their discretion.

This scenerio of a 2.1applicant going for a PGD/PG.Cert has been addressed here

I want to please find out if anyone experienced issues while trying to upload documents on IRCC site yesterday. I tried to upload additional documents requested for and I got the error message below.

Please note that I did not do anything outside the normal process, the files were not too large. Just wondering if it was a glitch from their own end. Thank you.

Please anyone that uploaded NSE documents should please kindly help out. I am still having the same error message.

Not completely sure but from what I've seen here you still need to submit your sponsors statement as the VO would like to know if your sponsor still has enough left for himself after his commitment to you..... Cheers

PLEASE I NEED AN ANSWER URGENTLY.

I applied for SP on the 7th of Oct, I didn't get any NSE letter but my eligibility review started 1st of Dec, after which I went to do upfront medical which as been updated to passed yesterday. My concern is that my proof of fund, what my sponsor had as closing balance was not so impressive, the only thing impressive about my POF is my sponsors Letter of employment which stated his annual salary and me as his dependent. My question now is that my sponsor can get his closing balance now up to 10m, do you think it's necessary I send another bank statement to them or I should just leave it and be hopeful.

Ps; Previous closing balance was 4.5m and after my application I paid part my tuition fee which was around 11,450CAD

Thanks smiley smiley smiley

Na xo e be, e dey happen wella.

The thing is, not everybody wants to go to Canada to really study, some jz wanna elope to Canada via the Study Route cos they assume or feel it's quite easier, and the VO has noticed that this is very common among African & Asian applicants (An assumption based on refusal rates among those two continents)

Getting Admission for this Diploma, PG.Cert or Masters program might not be the problem, but like you said "How an Applicant is able to convince a VO or defend his/her case is very essential for a Visa Sucess". The problem now is some 2.1 or 1st Class graduate might find it difficult to proof to a VO why he/she is going for an Ordinary Diploma or a PG. Cert instead of a masters, in another scenerio, some with their 2.1 or First Class just want hands on experience program which Diploma & PG. Cert offers. it's what a VO see's he or she gonna dwell on before making a VISA DECISION.

U can check out this content

Just What Goes On In a Visa Officers Mind
https://www.mapleassist.com/just-what-goes-on-in-a-visa-officers-mind/

If you see the refusal reasons on some GCM notes, u gonna understand why it's good to do the needful about Progression before applying for a study Visa.

So I feel this Career/Academic Progression of a thing needs to be seen logically so applicants can play safe and avoid wasting of time & resources

First Bank is not available.
What can I do?

awys:

You can do it that way let him go to the bank branch tomorrow and ask they will do it for him .It's ideal though you have some funds in the account and depending on the relationship between you and him like if he is your father it's a strong one then it can fly but have also seen where someone got approved using uncle as sponsor ooo don't get me wrong but then it's always better to be on a safer side and makes the Application strong if your sponsor is your father or mother that's what I think other gurus can add their opinions.it can work for you but people also get denied for the fact that they didn't put their own SOA like there is no financial status coming from the applicant itself and if the relationship is far again like inlaw etc they might raise an eye brow but all these depends on the VO assessing the Application and God some use it and get approved and some aren't lucky and gets denied based on financial status so it depends

My people...good evening...

Mehn NSE has put things on hold o...I'm waiting till the one-month window closes shaar (Dec. 25)

So, I have a question and I'll appreciate your opinions.

My lectures are starting January 11. Considering the little time left and the stage my Visa application is in, I will most likely have to opt for online classes (that is, observe the winter semester remotely), then when the Visa drops I'll continue the online classes in Canada for the first semester.

Now, remember the AIP (September) season where people were given AIPs due to the international flight restrictions. The AIP was used to begin online classes. Now that there are no flight restrictions and AIPs are not being issued again, what will I have to tender to begin the Winter semester remotely??

Please I need your opinions.
