I think the most important thing to be thinking about is whether the money would be enough for your trip and if there would still be enough money available to you when you get back to naija. 700k would barely cover your flight ticket and Accomodation. You may need to boost your account balance so you have enough for the trip and still have money to FLEX when you go back to your home country.
How much do you suggest for a solo traveller

Hi everyone,

I had my baby three weeks ago in a private hospital in Brazil.

I got the visa without any interview. My husband actually submitted all our passports. We collected visa within 4 days. I had to go in person to sign for collection. I was already 32 weeks gone.

I have done the birth certificate, the RG and will soon collect the the Brazilian passport.

My challenge is how to apply for resident permit now.

Has anyone applied by themselves or you have to pay agents to do that for you. The language barrier is a big challenge for me.

Those who recently did theirs should kindly guide as I have to leave Brazil before my 90 days expires.

Thanks

Congrats

Congratulations on your baby.

You don’t need an agent, you can follow the link techspot provided. You can also reach out to non government organizations that assist immigrants near you, they usually have people who speak English and will help arrange all the documents required for your PR application at no cost.
Once you apply, you get a protocol that will grant you 6 months stay so you don’t have to worry about your 90 days expiring or leaving hurriedly once you apply.

It's interesting that Brazil is rolling out the red carpet. I think that's great, but I'm also a little worried. Be careful everyone.

I have applied but couldn't get any appointment as it has been overbooked on Policia Federal website. My Police report will expire this month endand my visa in 3 weeks time. Is there anyone here who knows how else I can get a quicker appointment or any city I can walk in and submit without appointment. Please kindly assist if you do

I didn’t have to book an appointment when I applied, I just walked in to submit. I’m not sure what the protocol is now due to Covid but if you are in São Paulo, you can just go to Policia Federal in Lapa to submit. Also, usually you should get Priority you’re applying with your baby’s documents.

What are the documents needed for the permanent residency application?

I sent you a PM.

It must be due to COVID-19. I just learned that all tourist Visas (90 days) resumed counting on the first week of November, before then they stopped counting due to covid restrictions. You may have more time if that’s the case.
Alternatively, you can extend your visa but they won’t do it until a week to expiration.

I saw that you tried to message me but I don't know how to respond. The thing is that they started the web appointment scheduling. But it appears they deliberately blocked it so no one gets appointments. I checked up to March but no date available. Then a notification came up which gave option of emailing them. I did email putting my application code. They finally respond after 10 days giving me a date which is 11 days after my allowed 90 days stay expires. I am confused, as I do not want any overstay in my travel history.

You must have registered your baby birth certificate at their local govt called Cartoria.

Then you do the citizenship ID card called RJ (they pronounce it like ehijay), at another govt office called Paupatempo.
You should also have the CPF of yourself (their tax id number).

Then with these documents you go to Policia Federal website and apply for baby passport. You will be sent a Protocol page with registration code. With that code you go to schedule appointment at the same website
