vickyehi: Hi, Please i need some guidance on the Canada process. It seems the information here is for folks with a Bsc/Msc in nursing, my younger sister just finished from a 3yr program at a school of nursing in Nigeria, not a bec program. what are her options to migrate to Canada? She has no work experience so I am considering having her travel via the student route since no work experience for PR but i dont even know what programs she needs to apply for because the information on the websites that i have checked is confusing...i dont know anything about nursing. What is the best course/program that she can apply to, cost effectiveness is also key so can she leverage her 3yr program from Nigeria to reduce her length of study/conversion. Ultimately the goal is for her be able to practise as a nurse here without us going bankrupt lol. Thank you for your help |

Tell you sister to focus on IELTS if her goal is to practice as a nurse in Canada Once she is able to conquer IELTS she can then apply for adaptation program in Canada with OMNI college 6m-1yrs program But I will advice her to focus on UK for now since you're not that financially buoyant Let her sit for OET and. Hi everyone, season greetings. Please I have a question. I recently submitted my application on NMC uk, and paid the 140 pounds. I got a mail. Should I wait for another response to proceed to cbt or should I contact nmcn for verification (the one we pay 17500 for). Thank you 1 Like |

jpepper: Congrats on her graduation. *For Canada, you are right that she doesn't qualify for PR right now. *Her options for study permit is a BSN program at any university she can afford. * she can not trade any of her Nigerian RN education for credit in any BN program as she isn't a Canadian RN at this time. *schools for undergrad BN would cost from 18k to 30k tuition alone. My advice, go to the UK work and bridge your diploma into BSN and or a masters degree. Use express entry to return to Canada and start the licensure program. Migrate to Montreal Quebec as I gathered their process is less tedious. 1 Like |

KennyUG: These types of programs at Omni DONOT guarantee you your license. Best option is if you enter Canada with Omni admission, change school and study to be a health care aide (manitoba 1year). Ensure your study permit is still valid and apply for Pgwp. Use Mpnp to get PR status then go back to school as a PR to study nursing. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

vickyehi:Hello Vickyehi, I have been trying to get across to you for some clarifications to no avail. I sent a mail on nairaland as well; I'd also like to get that contact in nursing council and the cbt materials you promised someone above. I hope you respond. Thank you for your time. I'll await your prompt response. Kind Regards. |

vickyehi:Please if one comes to Canada with a visitor's visa, what's the next step to becoming a nurse's aide? And is it a pathway to PR? If yes, how long might it take to achieve PR through this path? Thanks. 1 Like |

Jaycew: If you read through previous posts, you would find all the discussion and arguments about Omni. In summary, graduating from Omni does not equal you having a license to practice. Omni can be likened to an organized Jamb lecture. Knowledge gained is useful in attempting your jamb, but it doesn't qualify you to take jamb (thats more your secondary school or proof you have graduated from a secondary school). |

Uzland:A visitor's visa give you rights to visit ONLY. You would need to exit the country and apply for student visa from your country of residence. Any form of study in Canada with a study permit is a pathway to PR. However you can not use a healthcaere aide admission to file for your student visa from Nigeria because heslthcare aides are not recognized in Nigeria. And the major aim of your student visa application is to proof that the studying you are embarking on would be beneficial to the Nigerian society and your life back here in Nigeria. |

Bros, I know your optimism but a visitor isn't entitled to such privilege. E just be like say make person wey con visit you for house, con say him don turn permanent resident "PR". Think about it. What I think you can do is to acquire a relevant skill or certification - IT, Nursing, et al and then migrate to any country of your choice. Uzland: 1 Like |

That's too detailed. But if you can read from page 1 to this page, it will really help you alot. I started with page one and I asked many questions and with the help I get here, my wife have gotten ATT. The funniest part is that I am not a nurse. So, sit down with your notes and write down all the info u need. quote author=tolajay post=97753164]Hello everyone, Does anyone have details on how to process migrating to the USA as a Nigerian Nurse? vickyehi:OK, thanks a lot. Quite depressing to hear this! But the marriage idea, not a bad one, though it may not be feasible to marry in under 6 months. In such an instance where one overstayed and married after about 1 or 2 years, would the PR not work out? PS PLEASE pardon my awkward questions. There may be hundreds of other people here who might find themselves in this situation, and the responses and advice rendered here might be of immense help to them too. Thanks once again. |

Happy new year everyone I'm a bnsc nurse with some years of work experience after graduation. I've been doing my masters (health related but not nursing). I want to migrate to Canada and I want to know if its possible to work as an RN without NNAS process. My research so far indicates that internationally educated nurses will have to apply to NNAS first so they can determine one's level in nursing and then prescribe any bridging courses/practicals that will qualify the person to write a licensing exam. I heard their process takes 2 to 5 years so I'd like to know if there is a shortcut. Is there a short university program I can do to brush up on my nursing skills and qualify me for the licensing exams without applying through NNAS? If anybody else has had any experience with them, can they share please? Any input would be appreciated. |
