Two Nigerians Arrested In Ghana While “Selling” Teenager For N2million

On Monday, two Nigerians in Accra, Ghana, identified as John and Fidelis Haruna, were charged with an alleged conspiracy for human trafficking in Accra Circuit Court.

The suspects were reportedly apprehended while trying to sell a 19-year old at N2million to a herbalist who alerted the police.

Monday is facing an additional charge of human trafficking.

They have pleaded not guilty and are expected to reappear before the court on December 28.

The prosecution team, led by Chief Inspector Judith B. Asante, said the accused persons were squatters at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, according to a report by Ghanaweb.

The complainant is a herbalist at Chisco Transport Services at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Accra.

The prosecution said on December 1, this year, John approached the complainant at about 1000 hours that he had a human being he wanted to sell.

Chief Inspector Asante said the complainant became suspicious and feigned interest in buying the victim and asked John to get back to him at 1200 hours.

Meanwhile, the complainant had alerted the police about John’s intention.

The prosecution said John succeeded in luring the victim, Destiny Okoye, to the complainant’s shop at Circle under the pretext that the complainant was going to get him a lucrative job.

At the shop, John negotiated with the complainant privately and stated two million Naira as the fee for the deal.

The complainant then asked John to wait for him as he was going to bring the money. The police, however, moved in and arrested John.[/s]

7 Ghanaians have been arrested in Nigeria for allegedly smuggling drugs into the country. They were arrested at Abule-Egba, Lagos State.

According to reports, the group of 7 were arrested by a police patrol team loitering at a bus stop.

Upon their arrest, 3 Ghanaian passports and some substances suspected to be drugs was found with them.

“Three Ghanian international passports and some capsules suspected to be illicit drugs were recovered from them. Investigation is ongoing,” a police spokesperson told the media.

He added that the suspects claim that a Nigerian living in Ghana promised to send them to Libya in exchange for cash but after their arrival in Nigeria, he abandoned them and took off.

There are issues like functionality of a train station which can only be judged once its completed.Example, the Nairobi station was poorly designed, although it looks good on outside,but on the inside,there are hassles when boarding a train.There are unnecessary going up and down which make it too hard for folks with suitcases

You shouldn't talk of modernity if the trains will run on diesel. The day you do electrification, that is when I will agree on modernity story you try too hard to sell. Differentiate between modernity and beautifulness. Your station might be beautiful, but its surely not modern.
