Nigeria has more influence in West and part of Central, their culture alone speaks volume, talk more of economy, and development.

Kenya on other side influences most of East and part of Central and South decisions. The recent terror attack in Mozambique is a clear testify, Kenya of all countries had to step in for Mozambiques support whereas their neighbors like bongala nation were just lazying around as usual.

Nigeria should start out with absorbing West Africa kicking out the French and revitalizing the region. Then strengthen ties with Central Africa(Cameroon, Chad, both Congos, Gabon, Angola etc). Ethiopia and Eritrea are liabilities they routinely flip flop between Pan Africanism and Anti-Africanisn. They also tend to give the middle finger to the rest of Africa and boot lick Westerners and Arabs when the moment suits them. There a potential future Trojan Horse. Relations with them can remain standard. I'd rather see Tanzania as the primary Eastern allie. Sure closer ties to Egypt can work but not to close same with Morocco and Algeria. South Africa can stay bilateral as it is.
