2003 honda accord delays to move when engaged in "D". Even when it finally moves it disengages on motion, i have to rev the car high before it picks up again, and it doesn't switch to gear 2. I have replaced gear oil & filter due to this, still no change. I cleaned out the "solenoid sensor" beside the gearbox and samething still happens. Anytime it delays in moving when i shift to D the green light near D starts blinking with check engine light. I scanned and it showed "shift solenoid A valve stuck open" sometimes it's "shift solenoid B valve stuck opened". It just dangles between both I met several gear mechanics, they tell me the gearbox is gone,i should go get another gearbox or rebuild the one on it, even without scanning. I personally don't feel it's true and from research i have been making, some people still experience such even after replacing the gearbox. Please anyone who had experienced this before and how did you get it resolved because car has been resting since before Christmas. |

Happy new year fellas. Been a silent follower of this thread for a while now. You guys do life-saving work here. Thanks. Now, I have a small issue. My 09 accord's brakes feel somewhat soft/spongy. That's the only way to describe it. So, you basically have to "plan ahead" before braking. if you need to brake suddenly, you might have to floor the brakes. I was the mechanic yesterday, and the said mechanic explained that there was something wrong with the master (I'd recently changed the brake pads so it wasn't that). He worked on it/fixed it yesterday, and even though the brakes feel slightly better, they're still not as responsive/solid as, say, an '05 accord's brakes. What could be the problem? I'd appreciate your help and insights. Thanks cc: Gazzuzz HeavenlyBang kingreign Nurey Luvinhubby |

markpenk:Did he install a very good working unit? Did he bleed all 4 channels? Is your ABS light on? That said, the 08 upwards brakes aren't anywhere near the 03-07 in terms of sharp response. |

Good morning car gurus.... I notice this (picd below) this morning while carrying my routine checks. Is it something I should be worried about? I ran the engine for some seconds to warm it and the place becomes dry. Tap it with a tissue and I saw blue color. Honda Civic 08 Gazzuzz HeavenlyBang kingreign Nurey Luvinhubby get al. Thanks.

kingreign: Thank you Kingreign. Also I'm confused on engine oil to use, this is because when the car arrived Nigeria October last year, it was serviced in Lagos before delivery. It's almost due for service now @30% & 4k+km since last serviced. I know the recommended oil is SAE5w20 but I don't know whether it's the recommended oil that was used in servicing the car. I reached the mechanics that service it but they don't seem to remember. This is where my fear is: if the vehicle was serviced with maybe 5w30 and I now use 5w20 will it give me issues. Same Honda Civic 08 and is in perfect condition. Thanks. Cc: radautoworks Gazzuzz HeavenlyBang kingreign Nurey Luvinhubby |

Gurus in the house, Please I need a competent technician that can help me work on my honda civic 2008 AC. I was told i need to change the compressor and the condenser after spending about 12k fixing leakage pipe (but worked for only 2 days). How much can I budget for the compressor and condenser? Also, whenever the level of my fuel move to like 20% (based on gauging system) while driving, the throttle will stop accelerating. I will have to pull over and restart the engine to fire up again but if I am running on a full tank, such will not be experience. Some technician told me i need to cleanup the tank (NOTE: I have changed my fuel pump twice), while some confirm it is an electrical issue... Kindly assist with a vital solution my able gurus. This is my first car and I am not enjoying the experience at all. cc: Gazzuzz Radautoworks Nurey Kingreign |

FineUsername: No harm done for one oil change. Just use recommended going forward. FYI your car does not require synthetic oil so you can use even a good conventional 5w20 if you choose.
