rvp2018: As of 2012 Nigeria was the 20th largest exporter of ships and boats go and check the data, it has now been 8 years do the math, innoson produces spare plane and fighter jet parts and they export these to countries like Ghana and Morocco. 1 Like |

It's doing terrible - -1% plus -10% - so yes we are back to 89-90B. But south Africa at -8% plus rand depriciation of -20% (not checked recently) is still 30% - and your nominal gdp has dropped by whopping 1/3 - in one year - that is loosing 115B dollars - an economy bigger than kenya - so right now your GDP is not even 250B. If you're not careful - it could drop below 200B this year - and Kenya may overtake you quicker than 2035. jln115: 5 Likes |

Show us pictures of those ships and boats; name the companies; give us the data; which countries have bought those ships. 3B dollars worth of ships and boats - is HUGE HUGE And as for Innoson - that is basically re-exporting chinese bootleged stuff - who buys it - only god knows. Abohboy: 2 Likes |

rvp2018: Nigeria has been building military ships multiple frigates there are private companies doing the same you can research the data, but according to the data from 2012 Nigeria was the largest producer of ships Innoson only imports the engines, it isn’t a matter of Chinese stuff it is a matter of not having designers, the cars are made in Nigeria then engines and hydraulics are imported because those cannot be made and it would be expensive to get local car designers. |

Economy - is Production (quantity) times Prices (currency matters). Obviously currency doesn't affect the amount of Mumu you can spew but if you attempt to sell it - that is something else. Nominal GDP is USD. Currency doesn't depreciate for nothing - it's indication of economic slug. Vlain: 4 Likes |

ACCRA (Bloomberg) --Ghana is set to open sub-Saharan Africa’s first liquefied natural gas-to-power project as it moves to position itself as a hub for the cleaner and cheaper fuel in the region. LNG-to-power projects have been booming from Asia to Latin America in recent years as they allow nations to switch from dirtier fossil fuels to keep the lights on. And for sellers, integrated LNG-to-power provides a guaranteed outlet for the fuel. Tema LNG Terminal Co. received the floating regasification unit from Jiangnan, China on Wednesday, paving the way for the supply of 1.7 million tons of natural gas per year for power generation sometime this quarter, Edmund Agyeman-Duah, project manager at the company, said. The company, backed by Helios Investment Partners and Africa Infrastructure Investment Managers, began building the $350 million project about two years ago. “Ghana can now start to service the rest of the region with fuel that is continuously growing in popularity because of the cost and the significant environmental benefits it provides,” Agyeman-Duah said. 3 Likes 1 Share
