The truth is, our mechanics are really trying. Go to edmunds and other car review websites and you'll see hundreds of car problems that still remain unresolved despite countless visits to the dealership.

I have even seen someone say Acura or Lexus(can't remember which) had to fly in their engineer to his city to disgnose and resolve the issue with his vehicle when the dealership he bought the vehicle from couldn't resolve it.

Even the engineer that was sent could not resolve the issue so Acura had to replace the vehicle for the guy.

Those were engineers with modern tools, scanners, and tens of years of experience. How much more our own local mechanics. While it can be argued that quite a number of them incompetent, cconsidering what is available for them to work with, they are really trying.
This is exactly what I was saying ooh. Na try our people dey try. We don't produce, we're only trying to maintain what we bought.

The bolded is exactly Dru's point. If the whites are having a hard time getting their cars fixed, how much more down here in Nigeria where quite a number of mechanics don't take the time to update their skills.

Dru was only stating what he felt was the obvious. I follow chrixfixit on youtube and this guy is a bad ass mech. He uploaded a video of changing the battery of a Prius and without the right skill set and tools an attempt to do that will turn that car into a lemon.

I also understand his point of view too, and that's why I'm asking that he calms down. Now that we don't have competent technicians, should we all be dumping our cars for new ones? Or be flying in technicians from overseas (like we can afford it shocked). What I think is, he should give his advice, not his condemnation, the former helps!
Like I said on this thread sometime ago, he has been very useful, he should continue to be, not someone that will just discourage others abeg. When last did you even see GAZZUZZ comment here again.
We need people who will help, not otherwise.

He isn't trying to condemn. He's simply saying the truth, though bitter

Using a hybrid for Uber is a wrong tool. There are very few people that can handle it over here. Until your car breaks down in Badagry, and you have to tow it to Ladipo or wait days for the technician to come an attend to it over there, one won't understand

Someone here used a Ford for Uber, and he ended up selling it because of wahala. One needs to use a vehicle that technicians are ready available and can handle. That's why the Toyota and Honda is everywhere.

Personally, for me, Dru was right.

For now, a hybrid is a wrong tool for this business

Of course he is right and I'm always looking forward to his contribution. Guess you're not seeing the rest of his statements that downplayed the competency of petrol car mechanics. Like I said, he's a great guy that I always look forward to his contributions. Na something tire oga GAZZUZZ that stopped him from commenting here, we're all humans, don't you think? Still referring to the person that almost got stranded until Bishop's advice got his car back up, you no dey like that kain advice?

If because of one person, he decides not to be assistance to the thread, then it's fine.

Radautoworks have been bashed here countless times. Have you seen her running away?

Even jpworld, still offers to help people in distress despite how he's hated here.

I was surprised he decided to leave because of that. Like he said, he can be reached on WhatsApp.

The way you people easily use the word "hate" though.
I usually have counter arguement9 with JP, just I've had with Dru and some few people in few times, but I don't hate JP or anyone.

Thank you for admitting he uses same foul words. So, don't make him look like a victim here. He most times starts the fire.

How many times has he used derogatory words on radautoworks? So if she uses same on him, does that make JP hated here?

God will favour you in all your endeavours .
Personally, I never hated him, and will never hate him. I believe he was trying to defend his business as well as passing messages to investors but he does that in a wrong manner.
The way he generalises nairaland drivers as hoodlums is just a joke. I'm very sure of that.
I will have love to respect him the way I respect Dru and radauto but the manner at which he go about using dirty and disrespective words on the woman (someone's wife and mother) is unrightful.
Women needs to be respected, irrespective of their age, size, religion and tribe because they are fearfully and wonderfully made.

The voltage in most hybrid batteries can deliver a lethal shock, much like that of an electric chair. ..

I actually understand drus point and will never buy a hybrid even if Gazzuzz is my next door neighbour.

I was only pointing out the fact that our mechanics are not necessarily as bad as we sometimes make it seem. Giving the available resources combined with lack of formal education for most of them, they are actually trying.
