zeezaa:Try Asian shops like shops run by Pakistani's. Or where they sell Halal meat. You can buy whole lamb or goat in some of those places. Note that because the goat is skinned and not roasted, you do not get that smoky flavour. 1 Like |

I can't say why but this almost led to tears One, i empathize with you Two, i feel same way currently though i got to UK some weeks ago... Yet still had a rather shocking experience from a transaction done back in 9ja out of trust. Na small remain i for cancel Nigerians when it comes to business. Feels like wickedness runs in their veins, no human empathy but gross inhumanity. I trust too easily as i feel it makes life less stressful God help me in my future encounters But i do pray you find healing soon enough. Apologies for the gibberish i just typed above Chreze: |

Vooom: Yes you can. I too started with a Bicycle. Get a reflective vest, a helmet and equip your bike with blink/indicator light front and back for visibility (see and be seen). These are vital to have on the bike. You can get helmet dashcams if your wallet carry am. Just in case of accident and you're not at fault; na to cashout straight. Cheers. |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Lexusgs430: 8:19am On Jan 09, 2021 |
Vooom: No protocols...... But for your own safety, buy a helmet, lights (front and rear), if riding at night + reflective top...... Better still, I have a helmet that does majority of the aforementioned...... If you love tech/gadget, get this helmet........ Invest in a lumos bike helmet. With lumos, you can indicate you intentions, constant recurring hazard lights, overhead camera, GPS track your cycling etc etc etc Other helmets like lumos are available, just do a Google search....... I don't envy a rider attempting to Vooom, in this present freezer conditions........ 6 Likes 1 Share |

olubunmyn: Is the child’s visa approved already? If yes, then bringing him to the UK is easy. You can go back to nigeria anytime and pick him/her or use ‘unaccompanied minor’ service if the child is above 5years old (most airline offer this services, I’ve used it in the past for my daughter and it was perfect). Age of the child determines childcare cost. 0-3 is about £900 for a standard nursery in my location. You get free 15hours from 3years then you have to consider after school care if you have classes in the afternoon/evenings. You can look for informal arrangement with nannies or minders, although it has its challenges and shortfalls. 1 Like |

DjPhellarz: A million and one DJs come on talk radio shows these days to complain that since March 2020, gigs are cancelled, hence no business. DJ business in this KOVIK-1,9 era no be am. |

DjPhellarz: By ‘secure a job’ you meant sending you CV, attending interviews and landing a job? Or You meant having your own equipment, hosting a website, printing flyers and complimentary cards and distributing them, then getting calls and emails for DJ-ing at gigs? 1 Like |

Vooom: Truth is there are still people (Nigerians) who are blessings to the world. I read some pages back about a guy that helped someone pay IHS n VISa fee without benefit. I believe things are gonna change. With regards to your fear, after sometime I also believe it will fade off (at least I hope so for myself), but being watchful and vigilant when dealing with Nigerians, I think that’s gonna be in me forever, especially people I don’t know personally. 2 Likes |

Gurus in the house should please help... What to do? With the pandemic in place, School says BRP can't be picked up on the appointment date and they say the wait is indefinite. So, a quick question... How can one process a dependent visa for the spouse without the brp? Mind you, 28 days is already counting and should become valid by early February. Every input is valid and appreciated. |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by wallg123: 11:51pm On Jan 09, 2021 |
DjPhellarz:Bros let’s face reality coming to Uk to do DJ would fetch you almost nothing financially these days due to lockdown and social distancing issue which has made clubs and bars shut for over 1yr now.... But before COVID-19 era, you would have done extensive networking before you’ll secure gigs in clubs, bars or radio stations..... it is very different from Nigeria. So I’ll advice you to make alternative financial plans (plan B) until whenever you finally breakthrough the DJ industry..... DJing should be your 3rd or 4th source of income 3 Likes |

iboboyswag: You should call ukvi/ home office to discuss your options .. Cuz you’ll need some information from your BRP to apply for your spouse |

PtBlank: Put it on a card and be in serious financial predicament..... You would only be able to withdraw $100 pcm........... Carrying cash, it must not exceed £10,000 (or else, if found by those funny sniffing dogs).... You go explain or money seized......... Your best option if over £10,000.... Leave in Nigeria and do trade by barter (ensure you have online access)....... 2 Likes 2 Shares |
