OGUN UNCOVERS AN UNAUTHORISED FLYOVER BRIDGE IN OMO FOREST Ogun State Government has detected and ordered an immediate destruction of an unlawful flyover bridge undergoing construction across Oluwa River, a boundary between Omo forest, Area J4 in Ijebu East and Ondo State. The Commissioner for Forestry, Hon. Tunji Akinosi, who led a monitoring team to Laagan Village, where the unauthorised construction of about 50 meters long bridge was located, commanded the settlers to pull it down within two weeks before the next monitoring exercise that would come up on the 21, this month. Akinosi said aims and objectives behind the heinous act, was for easy transportation of the State's forest resources by illegal loggers and flitches production, called 'Alamole', to be freely stolen and taken away to neighbouring States. He pointed out that the present administration would not fold its arms and allow illegal settlers to take over the forest reserve, adding that some unscrupulous elements were behind the illegal construction which must have gulped about 15 to 20 million naira. The Commissioner noted that many of the settlers who keep illegal arms to perpetrate crimes would be arrested and charged to court, saying, armed soldiers would remain part of the frequent monitoring exercises in order to prevent banditry which is becoming prevalent nationwide. Why destroy it... why not make better use of it and probably arrest the people involved? Why are we good at wasting resources like this? Modified************* For those people quoting me.... We blacks barely use our senses.... A visionary leader will make something reasonable from it.... Someone said the foundation of the bridge might not be solid...Yes, but rather than destroying it, renovate it to a better standard and reduce the cost.... Make the place a tourism centre or something... Then have someone publish a touching story about the reserve... 210 Likes 10 Shares |

The State Government should support the contractor to make it up to standard and make sure it's used legitimately. I wonder who approved the Faseun Bridge that connect Ago to Bucknor in Lagos. About two pillars under it is bending and huge truck ply it daily. Even the bridge is not straight again. It is now swerve but the touts there keep collecting money. Whenever I use it, I'm always in a hurry to pass. That bridge is a disaster waiting to happen 34 Likes 2 Shares |

This is a lesson to the government, many people have realized Nigeria has no president or commander in chief but group of people managing the affairs of this country. With that realization, they feel like just do whatever you can to make money 8 Likes 2 Shares |
