Just remove Lagos from your madness...

If Lagos were left to you like Ibadan your regional capital...Lagos would have turned to another Ibadan or Abeokuta
.

You're absolutely correct!!!
Only a born fool will argue that grin grin

Please always try and remove Lagos from whatever you are posting, as it will be unwise for the Gwari kingdom to include Abuja when posting their cities.
Lagos is Yoruba land, the land of the Oduduwa children. Why must he remove it.

while the other trend about northern cities was hijacked by bigots(you can still check them out for yourself) I will be willing to share some light about the powerful cities of oduduwa.
Oduduwa lo dara ju.Emi yoo nilo awọn eniyan wa lati wa ṣe atilẹyin orilẹ-ede wa lodi si awọn ọta wa.Maṣe jẹ ki wọn ṣe ikogun kikọ yii.
so without waisting our time here are some of the best cities in Yoruba land.

lagos city
Lagos (Nigerian English: /ˈleɪɡɒs/; Yoruba: Èkó) is the most populous city in Nigeria and the African continent. Lagos is a major financial centre for all of Africa and is the economic hub of Lagos State. The megacity has the fourth-highest GDP in Africa and houses one of the largest and busiest seaports on the continent. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the world.Lagos initially emerged as a home to the Awori subgroup of the Yoruba of West Africa and later emerged as a port city that originated on a collection of islands, which are contained in the present day Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Lagos Island, Eti-Osa, Amuwo-Odofin and Apapa. The islands are separated by creeks, fringing the southwest mouth of Lagos Lagoon, while being protected from the Atlantic Ocean by barrier islands and long sand spits such as Bar Beach, which stretch up to 100 km (62 mi) east and west of the mouth. Due to rapid urbanization, the city expanded to the west of the lagoon to include areas in the present day Lagos Mainland, Ajeromi-Ifelodun and Surulere. This led to the classification of Lagos into two main areas: the Island, which was the initial city of Lagos, before it expanded into the area known as the Mainland. This city area was governed directly by the Federal Government through the Lagos City Council, until the creation of Lagos State in 1967, which led to the splitting of Lagos city into the present day seven Local Government Areas (LGAs), and an addition of other towns (which now make up 13 LGAs) from the then Western Region to form the state.[27]

ECONOMY
The city of Lagos is a major economic focal point in Nigeria, generating around 10% of the country's GDP. Most commercial and financial business is carried out in the central business district situated on the island. This is also where most of the country's commercial banks, financial institutions and major corporations are headquartered. Lagos is also the major Information Communications and Telecommunications (ICT) hub of West Africa and potentially, the biggest ICT market in the continent. Lagos is developing a 24-hour economy and has also been ranked as one of the most expensive cities in the world. In some parts of Lagos, residents have one of the highest standards of living in Nigeria and in Africa. At the same time, a sizable proportion of the residents live in slums without access to piped water and sanitation.

The Port of Lagos is Nigeria's leading port and one of the largest and busiest in Africa. It is administered by the Nigerian Ports Authority and it is split into three main sections: Lagos port, in the main channel next to Lagos Island, Apapa Port (site of the container terminal) and Tin Can Port, both located in Badagry Creek, which flows into Lagos Harbour from the west. The port features a railhead. The port has seen growing amounts of crude oil exported, with export figures rising between 1997 and 2000.Oil and petroleum products provide 14% of GDP and 90% of foreign exchange earnings in Nigeria as a whole.

Lagos city or Lagos State does not belong to Oduduwa. OP, please do not commit this blunder in future because Lagos is a commonwealth territory. Arrewa was smart enough to avoid listing Abuja in his\her funny post too.

Abeokuta

Abeokuta is the state capital of Ogun State in southwest Nigeria. It is situated on the east bank of the Ogun River, near a group of rocky outcrops in a wooded savanna;[2] 77 kilometres (48 mi) north of Lagos by railway, or 130 kilometres (81 mi) by water. As of 2006, Abeokuta and the surrounding area had a population of 449,088.

Economy
Abẹokuta lies in fertile country of wooded savanna, the surface of which is broken by masses of grey granite. It spreads over an extensive area, being surrounded by mud walls 18 miles in extent.[3] Palm oil, lumber, natural rubber, yams, rice, cassava, maize, cotton, other fruits, and shea butter are the chief articles of trade. It is a key export location for cocoa, palm products, fruit, and kola nuts.[2] Both rice and cotton were introduced by the missionaries in the 1850s and have become integral parts of the economy, along with the dye indigo.

Abeokuta lies below the Olumo Rock, home to several caves and shrines.[4] The town depends on the Oyan River Dam for its water supply, which is not always dependable.[5] The dam is situated in the Abeokuta North local government area of Ogun State in the West of Nigeria, about 20 km northwest of the state capital Abeokuta. The dam crosses the Oyan River, a tributary of the Ogun River.

Abeokuta is the headquarters of the federal Ogun-Oshun River Basin Authority, which is responsible for development of land and water resources for Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states. Included in this are irrigation, food-processing, and electrification.[2]

Local industries include but not limited to fruit canning plants, plastics, breweries, sawmills, and an aluminum products factory. South of town are the Aro granite quarries.[2]

Kano and Kaduna are still decent enough, that's why Arewa did not see the need to add Abuja which is a common wealth just as Lagos. However, these my ofenmanu brothers know that Lagos is the only decent city in the SW area, that's why all you hear from them is Lagos, Lagos Lagos.

C’mon I think you are literate. Lagos is not like Abuja, Abuja was built strictly to be made as FCT but Lagos have been with the Yorubas even before the amalgamation of Nigeria.

Lagos has a rich culture with buildings and seaport within it even before 1960 and Lagos has always been the economic mainstay of the protectorate through her seaport.

Lagos was chosen as FCT because of her economic advantage and our leaders found out that the cultural hold of the Yorubas on it is too much so they had to switch to a new land Abuja which they built for that purpose.

It’s only fools online that claim Lagos is no man’s land, when it’s time their eyes will clear.

Which of the other Nigerians tho? Hope you are not mentioning the Igbos?

The other Nigerians can’t even develop their enclaves to be like Lagos and one would wonder why they will leave their region to develop Lagos while leaving their region to be underdeveloped.

Moreso, Ibadan used to grow at a faster pace during those days and after the collapse of the republic then and the unitary government, Yorubas of worth started moving their wealth to Lagos which took its toll on other Yoruba states.

Lagos is the Yoruba commonwealth, while not denying the input of foreigners on Lagos, it will be absurd and stupid for any group to claim it is no mans land. There are foreigners input in New York, California, and etc and yet you won’t see them being called no man’s land because people living there have evolved like humans and not some braggadocio primitive tribe of chestbeaters.
