iblawi: here here remember vividly the beginnings of the fabrication venture, Igirigi. People made fun, even laughed at its insane ugliness... well... only the foresighted could see into the future of Armored personnel carriers production. Only people who knew how technically easy these ventures are could imagine that it wouldn't take time for Nigeria's private sector to catch up with their imported counterparts. What nobody expected and what most people are still baffled by is DICON and its exponential growth in the past years, giving PROFORCE a run for its money. The quality of these products are of high standard and proficient enough to get military personnel the protection they need. Its a burgeoning industry, growing in leaps and bounds with sizeable investments both private and public. Remember when the unofficial embargo was placed on the Nigerian government, and said government had to literally purchase arms from shady third-hand dealers; even to the point of a chartered plane been stopped and its contents seized by another African country based on information given to it by the secret service of a North-American country. That was definitely one of the lowest point for Nigeria's war against the vermin invaders. Well, just a few years later, Nigeria has pretty much learned the lesson it should have learnt a long time ago, nobody respects a beggar. Stop begging and get to work. Build, fabricate, engineer, develop all facets of industry that enable and engender respect among the committee of nations. Nigeria's oil industry and its local content drive which has seen its local capacity to fabricate increase to 35% of all contents used in Nigeria's oil and gas industry gives it ample knowledge and capacity to build bigger and better. Nigeria's content and development monitoring Board has been steadily increasing this percentage from 10% a decade ago to 35% now and the aim of 70% in the next decade. Because after you've built and assembled more than 7,000 tones in parts of a floating, production and storage vessel, then APC's, Tanks, and ships do not seem as complicated any longer. That's, 70% of all content used in one of the largest oil and gas industries in the world. Think about how many engineers, professional welders, project managers, procurement managers would be involved in all these private companies. Shame on those who are blinded by their deep-seated animosity and inferiority complex towards a Nation on the verge of a technological and industrial revolution. A nation that can truly inspire hope, renaissance, and a resurgence in science and technology for the whole continent. Whether in Space technology, Oil and gas, Software development, Banking, ICT, Agriculture, and the service industry. The land is green. 8 Likes 1 Share |

kabe1:5 billion dollar as defence budget. That's more than some EU countries but yet swaps of Nigeria are still in BH and Iswap's hands. I thing the NA does not focus on what is essential to win this war. Just with a billion I think BH would be history if it is well rationalised and focus is given on investing in APC for troops on the front no those toyota pick up we see everyday, communication and also intel gathering. We should not also forget if the population of those region are not treated well and investment done on infrastructures, these fools if bh and iswap won't lack recruits. 1 Like |

In less than a week Nigerian military has dealt heavy blow on ISWAP and BHT.. NAF started the party with Airstrike on the 1st,2nd and 3rd of January on their logistics... Also a day before Op TURA TAKAIBANGO NA struck terrorists elements in sambisa and Alagarno forest (Hub of high value Terrorists leaders) Troops swung into Action next day killing 12 recovering a VBIED and 1 guntruck destroying another Next day troops storms one of the terrorists hideouts in the Dreaded timbuktu triangle Delivering Mass destruction to their camp Recovered 10 guntrucks that's a heavy loss to mobility and fire power of insurgents,Troops has be recording massive wins since then including foiling three attacks on different locations.... NAF hasn't even started Super Tucano and Drones are yet to arrive and they're on the run 5 Likes |

Toju200: Hopefully Biden doesn’t stop the delivery of the super tucano that would be a massive blow to Nigeria and its battle against insurgency but honestly I don’t see insurgency surviving in Nigeria much longer with Boko Haram gone, they would move onto herdsmen and bandits who have no gun trucks and major artillery so that shouldn’t be too difficult and then we can get back to policing the region, especially Mali that is quite a place of concern, once those are dealt with Nigeria can actually concentrate on building up its economy for the first time in over a decade. |

Here’s Nigerian Army troops of Operation TURA TAKAIBANGO who engaged BokoHaram fighters in an ambush in Gudjba, Yobe on Saturday. Our troops tactically out-manouevered them & engaged infidels with superior fire power as 20 Bokoharam now confirmed killed. 11 Likes

fabselad:A whopping 70% of that sum goes to recurrent expenditure, without periodical interventions for the procurement of military hardware like we saw in 2014($2bn, voicemail) and 2018($1bn, the super Tucano deal, MBTs, UCAVs e.t.c) they can't really do much, we have been paying for only 3 JF-17s for 3 years now! 2 Likes |

Whyem15: Reused as in Recycled? YES. dissect and cut the steel into smaller pieces Melt the steel down into liquid steel along with other recycled steel. Hot roll or Cold roll into new steel sheets. Fabricate once again into an APC. Steel, aluminum and most, if not all metals are 99% recyclable. Reused as in reform its structural integrity by hammering it back into place? Not advisable. |
