please I need someone to clear me on this, in my school MLS is place under the basic medical science faculty and I don't think MLS is a basic sciences cus I have friends in other schools were MLS is under Health science why is it different from ours?? |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by Humraaaaz: 10:58pm On Oct 03, 2020 |
Adex16: It does not matter. whats important is the course content. Some schools place MLS under faculty of Health sciences while others (eg uniben) have it under faculty of BMS. |

Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by johnsonm2g: 3:11am On Oct 04, 2020 |
To the best of my Knowledge, I think you can from 200Level. You've have to maintain a CGPA of 4.0 and above in both 100 and 200 level to qualify for the transfer. Simvan: |

Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by Scholar212(m): 4:44pm On Oct 09, 2020 |
Simvan:Currently there is no transfer to MLS in Uniben. Alternatively go to medical complex when school resumes and ask around in the dept. MLS hardly takes transfer |

Scholar212: Is it possible to run MLS on part time basis, for someone coming in through DE? Also, can you recommend any good school where this can be done in Lagos aside UNILAG? (Preferably a school of technology of something) Thanks |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by opera1(m): 6:09am On Dec 26, 2020 |
FBB100:300L MLS |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by samuelpeters(m): 1:00pm On Dec 26, 2020 |
Yampotatocarrot:MLS is only on Full-time basis and is only available in universities. So in Lagos, UNILAG is your only option. We also have MLT/MLA, run by School of health but it's still Full-time and it's at the lower cadre of Laboratory Medicine. MLS is a medical course. So all your attention need to be focused on it in order to graduate well. |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by Scholar212(m): 2:42pm On Dec 27, 2020 |
Yampotatocarrot:MLS is full time for undergraduate, there is no part time or weekend program. You will be shuttling between classes and hospital. What you have in school of health is medical lab technician (MLT) which are the junior cadre |

Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by softguy1: 10:08pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Can imo state University accept 185 jamb score for medical laboratory science. |
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by samuelpeters(m): 12:13pm On Jan 13, 2021 |
softguy1:It depends on the cutoff mark for that year. Most state universities accept UTME score of 180+. Which may also be combined with post-UTME exam/O-level/both to arrive at the final average score for that year. I would advice you contact someone in the school to get a first hand info. ©️2021. 1 Like 1 Share |

Good day everyone. Please I wanted to know if it is advisable (or not) to go for a masters abroad immediately after getting my bachelors degree in medical laboratory science or to go complete my internship first before going for the masters. |
