Flies in face of all logic. Why would an investor build a private school if public school are good. In countries with good public schools - private school simply don't exist. It doesn't make sense. Go ask the pope to refund your fees. vankelvin: 2 Likes |

rvp2018:There is an automatic system that shapes the future on every community. your doubts will be yours. I should be telling you that kenya lacks educational facilities because it has less primary schools than Ghana. funny children The most powerful church in Ghana is the Pentecostal and Methodist Church, is the pope their leader too.? In Ghana, once church members decide they want a school, the Church provide land and the member starts the school project with the Church development fund. Once it becomes a serious thing the District assembly makes sure it is completed to standard. |

First let get proper stats. Kenya public primary schools are 27,000 last I checked. Private schools are in excess of 10,000. Secondly where does the church get all that land. When it come to expenditure - we spend about 5B dollars on public schools - Gov pays capitation per pupil/student - Gov pays teachers - Gov buys equipment, textbooks, etc - Now Gov also build schools. Private schools including missions schools- are just outside - any gov - radar. We are BEYOND AID - like your president clearly shown in the picture. Just30: 2 Likes |

mtisTheQubit00: I can't continue with this dumbo attitude okay? -Government is responsible for building infrastructures for these missionary schools --Goverment is the one training Teachers for these schools. --Goverment pays their salaries 100% --Goverment is responsible for buying everything, from text books, desks, chalk/marker, buses etc -- Government builds teachers bungalows -- Government pays fees for all the students(free education) -- Government feeds some of the students for free(school feeding program) These Missionary churches or muslim missions are only playing supervisory role so who do you think runs these schools? 1 Like |

rvp2018:I said 30,000 primary schools, majority of which are private schools and followed by public schools. Keep dreaming, you think we are dysfunctional like your nations where people run the street screaming Jesus because of a cloud... Gov't control the schools and curriculum here too, make another point. In all schools, morning assemble is compulsory on Mondays and any other day of the week. 1 Like |

Can a muslim be admitted to catholic school and be allowed to pray in a mosque? It appears that you've allowed churches to use public resources to spread their religion. What you describe is basically public school - why you want to call it mission or catholic is beyond me. vankelvin: 3 Likes |

Public schools in kenya are run by parents. Parents appoint a school board - BoM - Board of Management - with chairman now required to be the graduate. The secretary is the school principal. Gov deploy and manages teachers, textbook, equipment's and works. BOM - are responsible for managing the school infrastructure. They can decide to fund raise or seek funding from gov. These are PUBIC school. Private schools include mission, academies, grammar schools, international schools. They receive ZERO gov funding or help or teachers or anything. Parents pay expensive fees for that reason. Just30: 2 Likes |

mtisTheQubit00: You guys are too dumb, no wonder people consider Kenyans as primitives. 70% doesn't mean the churches built all the schools. For the past 20 years, Government has built more than times 3 of what it inherited from the churches. Every cost of these schools are paid by the Government. Even electricity bills are absorbed by Government. 1 Like |

Try chant this GHANA BEYOND AID. No country can develop on your laughable model. Church cannot be allowed to drive gov agenda...because their objective is totally different. Kenya go to church, they tithe very well, kenyans like mission schools, they charge expensive fees, but we are secular nation. Kenya is indeed a modern state. Church, military, etc - are not allowed in public sector - in any form. Just30: 4 Likes |

rvp2018:we dont tax Churches as long as they use their monies to carry out development to the benefit of the general public. Churches deserve to be taxed if they are not providing public service. You are asking why should churches be tax, are churches not money making business? a church getting into gov't is new to me, elaborate more ... No wonder y'all are stupid in kenya. Ghana run a 6 - 3 - 3 system. The curriculum is provided by the GES and sex education has been taught in Ghana since schools began. who is this pope you keep referring to and what has he got to do with education? 1 Like |

British left you with 6-3-3 right? Church in any serious country CANNOT be allowed to run critical sector like education. What you're generating is criminal-cum-idiot-cum-pastor. No education is going on. Just indoctrination. Ask any Nairobeans - and they will tell you nearly every Nigeria/Ghanian in Kenya - is part-time pastor part-time Yahoo. Education is being able to question everything including God and Pope. Just30: 3 Likes |

rvp2018: I really doubt that there is an automatic system in place that decided that. I also doubt that church has land everywhere. Now the double track thing make sense - because you clearly lack education facilities - you're at the mercy of churches. In Kenya - if 10 parents meet and decide - they are far off from nearest school - they can build one - and gov will supply teachers. Nowadays the gov build- in my village - they recently decided to build another primary school - we are fewer than 20 families - CDF bought the land - and County gov built the pre-primary - and the MP (CDF) has built 4 initial classes. Obviously people from poor areas - in kenya - would rather they open a school under a tree - than wait for the pope to build them one. You should understand one thing, Ghana is not Kenya so read and learn, all countries are not run the same. In Ghana the early missionaries got so many lands for free. They own huge lands. So what's wrong with Government making use of the missionary lands by building more schools on the lands whilst Government lands are used for other things? 1 Like |

So you're basically a colony of churches. In kenya - churches got land - those days you could say huge land - but look at this - kenya were 6M in 1960s - now 50m - if we depended on land churches got in 1960s - we would be doing double track nonsense - where kid come for 3 months - and go home for 3 months - because Ghana has SERIOUS LACK of education facilities. Instead Kenya has Africa FIRST 100% primary to secondary transition. You cannot beat that. We don't wait for double track system - we DOUBLE THE CAPACITY of the schools. vankelvin: 3 Likes |

An American would have that newyork feeling when he travels to Nairobi . See. We have posted more buildings and non can match any of your lowrises in architectural design. Traditional authorities. Communist nation indeed. So land is not owned by Ghanians...it owned by traditional kings. Then school is owned and run by churches. Jesus Christ of Nazareth. rvp2018: Why would you tax churches? We don't tax churches. But we don't allow them to get into gov. Kenya is a secular nation. The freedom of religion ends there. Kenya gov has changed education system from British system like Ghana to Canada system 8-4-4 - and now we are into Competence Based Learning - and if we were waiting for Pope to agree - we would be like you. If we decide to teach sex education - we don't wait for Pope. Functionally illiterates folks. This guy is amazingly foolish Are you in anyway trying to impose your nonsense governance on us? In mission schools, the church must accept the person Islamic leader must accept the person. No country should be robbed by it Church like it happens in Kenya Despotic people If that was happening in Ghana, the church member will riot. The church should be developmental as long as they are using public service and not paying tax. The church should provide service to the general public when they are not paying tax. Ghana is a secular state and there is complete separation between church and state. If the church does not provide public service, it need to be taxed heavily 2 Likes |

rvp2018: In Ghana, if you really want to run a private school, the best decision will be to run KG, Primary and JHS. Running an SHS or a private University is a difficult venture. Ghanaians respect Public SHS and Public Universities than the private schools. For the last time, Government pays the bills for the missionary schools. 1 Like |
