You do not need government clearance... That is the headache of the driver to be a member of NURTW.

1m to 1.2m should get you a good danfo and I advise you give it out on hire purchase. Opting for daily returns is not always the bests as most of those drivers will mostly tell you stories to short change you and wreck your bus.
@bolded.
That's if you are kind.
Try that with my brother and you are fired.
He has this coaster bus and baba is very strict with it.
The day you come back with stories is the day you wil get fired. No pity.

YOU ARE ABOUT THROWING YOUR HEARD EARN MONEY INTO THE SEA, TWO THINGS ARE INVOLVE HERE, IS EITHER YOU DRIVE THE BUS YOUR SELF, OR YOU GIVE THE BUS TO A DRIVER WHILE YOU BECOME THE CONDUCTOR.. YOU NEED TO LEARN STREET AND BUS STOP LIFE TO SUCCEED IN DANFO BUSINEDS.

You see this depends on where you stay? Here in my place, you should be looking at #750,000 bkos of the demographics things are not expensive here and auto delears deal directly from Benin republic, so they buy the vehicle at 450 or so and sell at 700 while the 50K takes care of contingencies and the clearance.

Drivers license will be taken care of by the driver, while you take care of vehicle particulars until he remits as agreed that's if you would want to give over the vehicle.

But your location seriously informs cost. But the beautiful thing is if done right you have nothing to worry about as regards profit.

Where's ur location please? Idiroko or badagry? I'll like to get a contact that'll get me a vehicle, Honda City precisely

IF YOU ARE THE SOFT TYPE PLEASE DONT TRY GOING INTO TRANSPORT BUSINESS IN NIGERIA. DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE IF HANDING YOUR BUS OVER TO ANY ONE, IS EITHER YOU DRIVE IT YOUR SELF, OR YOU BECOME A CONDUCTOR TO YOUR DRIVER. YOUR MUST LEARN THE STREET AND BUS STOP LIFE STYLE. YOU MUST GET USE TO FLAMZY EXCUSSES. YOU MUST BE USE TO LASTMA. TRANSPORT BUSINESS NO BE OFFICE WORK, IT SHOULD BE LEFT ONLY FOR THE STREET PEOPLE. I WILL ADVISE YOU TO CHANNEL YOUR MONEY INTO SOMETHING ELSE, DONT LEARN THE HARD WAY.

Hello, men in the house.
I'm planning on investing some money into the danfo business world.
But,I still haven't gotten any tangible info from most of the researches I've made.

I know there are a lot involved in it but, I want to know roughly, the total amount of money one needs to hold on to, before venturing into the business.
With the purchase of the bus, maintenance and perhaps government clearance.
Can a million naira be able to possibly get all this things sorted out??

For a fact I won't be the one driving it, how much returns do you think the driver should drop for me everyday?

Candid advice needed.

Please if you are not going to drive it your self run away oo, you will end up feeding drivers and road touts without thanks, Uber is better if you can, cos the money will be going into your account direct then you pay the driver and you see when he is working or not and the car mileage will help to track him when he is telling lye even if he collect cash car mileage and gps tracker will catch him life, your peace of mind is paramount please.

my suggestions is why can't you get a good tokunbo 18 sitters bus or a sienna and get yourself a trustworthy and reliable driver preferably via another driver of a reputable transport company and start running interstate transportation......the driver can be doing Lagos to the South East/ South South or Lagos to the Northern part of the country..... he can be shuttling thrice a week and it would pays you and save you from every day talk talk wahala shalaye......Tor.

If you yourself are not stubborn, tough, rugged and ready for any wahala or you're not the talking type, please do not venture into danfo business ooooo.you will get tired after few months of so much shalaye ......and those drivers when they sees you're not someone who likes trouble they will capitalise on that and start giving you flimsy excuses every now and then....

Hi... Permit me to add a few thoughts to your enquiry

1. If your choice of danfo isn't already cast in stone and iron I'll advise you go for a car and place on Hire Purchase

2. Danfo drivers are in a world of their own, including the educated ones. Trust me, you don't wanna stroll into that world as a noob armed with a newly purchased Danfo...

3. Whatever your choice of Vehicle, please place it on Hire Purchase and have a written agreement with your Driver

4. Supervision Supervision Supervision ... Make unplanned visits to see the state of your vehicle regularly. Call your driver and make him bring the vehicle to wherever you are... Downside is you may have to lose a part of the weekly remit for that week but trust me it would always be worth it.

5. Treat your driver right... Treat him like you would an employee... Ask him questions outside of work and be interested in his happiness and well being.. Not necessarily because you want to but because it buys his loyalty (very important recipe for success)

6. Then, go hard... After playing nice. Don't be hesitant to yank off the deal if the success of the venture is threatened at any point of time...

7. Transportation business is lucrative. I am open to further discussions. I wish you good luck

Transportation business is high risk especially if you are not the one directly handling and managing it - keke, danfo or uber. It can run you down in a few months into the business.

Nigerian commercial motorists operating on hired purchase arrangements are the worst property managers and untrust-worthy fellows. It's takes grace for you not to commit murder and suicide when dealing with them.

Your best bet is to run it yourself. Keke, Danfo or Uber are all profitable. It depends on your capital outlay to support it. For example,
Danfo is about 950k
Uber Corolla, a very good first grade tokunbo 1.2m
Keke is about 750k.

I have known some acquaintance who started from Keke and added danfo in a few months.

The issue with danfo is the stress, not everyone doing uber can do danfo. as regards the stress "agbero" wahala. If u are not the troublesome type, you are going to find it difficult, troubles from passengers, agberos, name it, it will frustrate you, but that's if you are driving it yourself.

you people should get your research well oo, how can minibus be going for 1.1m currently and you're calling danfo tokunbo 750k and 950k

and Toyota corrola that's 2m above 1.2m

I’ll advise you to search for other sources of income, something you can be in control of... you don’t want someone feeding his family from your sweat and giving you excuses... I’ll advise you leverage the internet.

I tire oh my brother, same thing I noticed. Some people are still living in 2014 before BUBU became our president.

Even with 2.5M , if you are not careful they will sell Nigerian used Corolla to you. Last lass to buy a super clean Corolla, one needs around 3M.

At the end of the day, those Nigerian used vehicles don't even last. 6 months problem dom start, OP will start blaming village people.

My brother, if you can't drive your bus by yourself after the purchase, you better keep your money in your fixed deposit account.

Dts a golden advice from my personal experience.

I can't 4gt my orange color VW T4 in a jiffy.
