LTGEN: In this age of smart phones, Bluetooth, remote control, miniaturisation and all sorts of automation, you’d think majority of rifles would by now be able to use attachments such as “Vid-periscope” so that in the event of situations like the Nigerian soldiers found themselves, on their stomachs under cover, they could leave their tripod mounted rifle over the top and still be able to fire them while viewing what they were shooting at on their mobile phones. 4 Likes |

komekn:First of All... You can't use one or two or three soilders to classify an Army of Tens of Thousands though they are to represent but they entered with the mindset of oppression it's their problem.that was not taught during training I mainly focus on those who actually fight with Zeal with The mindset of defending this Country and Thank God I've actually met soilders like that.they are friendly. One even allowed me walk two of his Military working dogs (GSD) I bought milk for them and he appreciated. If you had this kind of experience with a soilder how would you classify the NA. Well it's not actually your fault there are numerous cases of Oppression by soilders but Good deeds never make it to the media.just like when Our soilder friend here striker Arab saved a woman who was almost raped by 7 men. On the Case of soilders running away from BHT when you have a vickers,You gonna have to look at the situation before Coming to conclusions. I don't worship the military I appreciate their efforts the bad ones can't spoil the good ones for me.anytime I watch some videos of our men in combat I wonder what comes in their mind.these are men with family who the could be flexing with at that time but it's quite the opposite and the people they are defending aren't showing appreciation maybe they should allow terrorists overun the country like they did in syria and iraq .. 10 Likes |

Mali Airforce received more Mi-35 helicopters from Russia today, which were brought by a Russian military delegation. Rosoboronexport signed a contract with Mali for 2 Mi-35M helicopters in 2016, which were delivered in Sep 2017. Mali previously procured 7 old Mi-24D helicopters from Bulgaria between 2007-2012. Not sure when the contract for the new Mi-35M was signed. 4 Likes

People who come here with 'opinions', no one cares about your 'opinions'. We're here to see updates about the war effort, not your half-baked, beer parlour opinions. If you're such an expert, send your opinions to the authorities. Mumu 7 Likes 1 Share |

Litmus: All of that could be mitigated if they had a definitive IFV. Considering the kind of attrition warfare we are fighting, it's rather strange that we do not have any definitive IFV. On the other a RWS mounted on a fit for purpose armoured vehicle should suffice in this situation. 3 Likes |

Toju200: Mr toju, Seriously, u deserve to be appointed as an ambassador of the army. It will be better if u enlist into the army, u re jst wasting ur talent here. Mr toju that knows the type of training that is been given to soldiers of the army. Well done sir. Do u even know intimidation is part of the army way of life. There is even a course given to cadet in the NDA. Where they re taught to intimidate. I have 4gotten the name of the course. After completing it, they will be sent to intimidate civilian and record it to show it to their superior as evidence. Failing to do it, they will be punished. I was told this by a soldier friend. 3 Likes |

komekn: Keyboard warrior strikes again. Go and enlist and show them. You don't know me as well nor do you know the constraints that are having to be dealt with by the military. You're the one with limited knowledge about COIN/CT warfare, so don't come here pretending otherwise. All talk from textbooks. |

See example below of a country having to deal with internal COIN/CT problems and not foreign armies going to other countries for a few months or years then running away. Egypt Defence Review @EgyptDefReview Jan 9 More examples of longstanding tactical frailties in North Sinai: No security, zero situational awareness, unarmed, abstaining from protective equipment, and poor reaction to enemy fire. https://twitter.com/i/status/1347940005176614915 |

Retired Military Veterans are protesting in Abuja according to Channels TV Twitter handle. Ahead of the Armed forces Remembrance day, retired veterans that have served the Nigerian Arm forces are protesting in Abuja over their pension arrears. The ex sevice men are appealing to the federal government to approve the payment of minimum wage arrears accuring to them between 2019 till date. They are demanding the inclusion of officers who fought during the civil war on the military pension scheme. A representative of the retired soldiers Anthony Agbas who dilivered a letter to officials at the ministry of finance told Channels TV that they have fought for the country and deserve payment of their entitlement such as the debarment allowances that have been approved since 2015, and not all veterans who retired by then were not paid. The federal government should look into this and comply because this will discourage those that are still serving and it is not a good way to reward retired veterans after their years of serving their father land https://www.channelstv.com/2021/01/13/pension-arrears-retired-soldiers-protest-in-abuja/amp/ |

Toju200: #PressRelease #DHQUpdate OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE: AIR TASK FORCE DESTROYS BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS’ GUN-TRUCKS, NEUTRALIZES SEVERAL INSURGENTS AT MAINOK IN BORNO STATE 1. The Air Task Force of Operation LAFIYA DOLE has dealt another blow on Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs) operating in the North East of the Country with the destruction of no fewer than 3 gun trucks and neutralization of several insurgents at Mainok in Borno State. The air operation was executed yesterday, 12 January 2021, sequel to intelligence reports indicating that the BHTs, in several gun trucks, were traversing the Jakana-Mainok axis of the State. 2. Accordingly, the Air Task Force scrambled NAF helicopter gunships to engage the convoy of BHT gun trucks and logistics vehicles. The helicopters delivered accurate hits in the target area, resulting in the destruction of 3 of the BHT vehicles, some of which were seen engulfed in flames. Several of the terrorists were also eliminated in the process. 3. The Armed Forces of Nigeria will not relent until all enemies of the nation are neutralised and normalcy is restored to all troubled zones of the country.
