Kisabaw:Majority are English speakers... Infact all are English speakers Benin don't understand Yoruba. Esp the one that has never been to Yoruba land.. I've seen Yoruba people that speak Benin fluently The Akoko Edo don't speak Yoruba as their main language... They are bilingual and speak their own language Yorubas don't even have one language... U guys have the ekiti dialect, the Oyo dialect, the Ijebu dialect, etc... We have different languages that are derived from Benin
Well I'm pretty sure that the Edo people don't come from Yoruba land... Maybe u should come to Benin and see what the average man think abt Yoruba... We are not even alike neither are our language the mutually intelligible |

Kisabaw: Yes... All our languages are the same .. Just variants... Like this okolo is an esan variant of the word okoro in Benin which means prince A Benin person can Understand an Urhobo person (being that they are in the same language group) far better than a Yoruba person |

Etinosa1234:Akoko Edo speak yoruba langauge We have different dialect but we speak the same yoruba langauge. That the dialects are different doesn’t change the fact that we speak the same langauge Yoruba people can never speak Benin. Maybe the ones who grew in Benin but it would be rare. But I know so many edos whose second langauge is yoruba So tell me how the Benin’s can’t influence even Ekiti or Ondo closer to them to speak Benin That should tell you that Benin came from ife 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Kennyswag:Omah lay has some paternal relationship with Igbo legendary singer Celestine Ukwu, and apart from Joeboy and maybe fireboy in that list, none of those other artiste make any lyrically meaningful songs than the likes of Patoranking, runtown and Peruzzi... having commercial appeal doesn't mean your songs are meaningful. I don't care about or watch ritual movies cause they aren't any different from the low budget garbage movies with poor English subtitles that your Yoruba movies are known for, I'm talking about the best of Nollywood movie classics that have featured faces of predominantly Igbos... very few Yoruba actors and actresses are known outside the shores of Nigeria, I can mention a few like Omotola Jolade, Olu Jacobs and maybe Yemi shobowale. Nigerian football is dead because your NFF (an organization headed mostly by Yorubas and Northerners btw) has been inept for decades. It's not the fault of the Igbos that your local league is dead due how shit the whole administration has been run, yet the most successful local league team that has won two CAF championships is Enyimba- an Igbo club. Also remember an Igbo boy - Sunday Mba won Nigeria its third Afcon in 2013, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi an Igbo man from my hometown in Delta state coached Nigeria to AFCON victories both as a player (in 1994) and as a coach in 2013. Till date the most decorated Nigerian players remain Igbos (Kanu, Okocha, Mikel, Amunike etc). Which tribe currently dominates your Nigerian NBA team? majority of the players recruited from colleges and other professional picks in the USA to represent Nigeria are mostly Igbos (check your current Nigerian basketball team). Also the recent NBA draft pick last year that recorded a high number of Nigerians were all dominated by Igbos... https://twitter.com/NBA/status/1329316899981840385?s=20

Kisabaw:Yes they speak but as a second language... Due to the past Yoruba wars on them ... U can't tell me that the Aduge; Akuku; Ebira; Enwan; Igwe; Ikpeshi; Ivbie North-Okpela-Arhe; Oko-Eni-Osayen; Okpamheri; Okpe; Oloma; Ososo; Sasaru; Ukaan; Uneme have all lost their languages for Yoruba... Go there and u'll hear people speaking it there Apart from the Akoko Edo, the esans and the Benin don't hear Yoruba except they go to yoruba land or decide to learn it 1 Like |

Kisabaw: Lol... Pidgin is widely spoken in the South South...not just Edo alone .. Its as a result of early European contact... Would u say the Urhobo and the isoko are different languages because they speak Pidgin which is rampant in Delta... Even in bayelsa that have majority ijaws... They still speak Pidgin... Would u say they don't understand their own language |

Etinosa1234:Well my point still remains that it’s illogical for yoruba to come out of Benin because we have like times 50 of Benin population. Infact yorubas are speaking Oyo yoruba now. You can only hear people speak Ekiti dialect or ijebu dialect when you go to interiors in Ekiti or ijebu even though most of them are now speaking yoruba In yoruba culture, what we read and were told is first oba of Benin is a Yoruba man 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kwashiman:omah lay is from rivers state Mr man... teni and tiwa savage are more successful than this people you listed.. Nigeria football team is dead and everybody knows that... super eagle can't compete on a world stage.. nff has been head by the three majority tribe.... compare super eagles to Senegal, Algeria, Cameroon, etc... The most successful nba players of nigerian origin are yorubas... .. nigerians are drafted every year into nba so I don't see the big deal here... 1 Like |

jcmaiah:We need to change the narrative the best way we can my brother. We blame Buhari for anything bad but what is being perpetrated here if taking to the streets would snowballed into bitter war. We shouldn't join them no matter how scathing the pouring of vituperation by misguided few who don't even have mouth to talk in their family meetings. Some people are downright emissaries of rift. You need to see the insult I had to take from my own people while trying to talk things right. 1 Like |

Kwashiman:Because of nba draft of one season now tantamount to you dominating nba. Yorubas are already well established in the NBA, Victor oladipo, femi bam Adebayo, Semi Ojeleye, etc are already in the NBA. Infact the greatest Nigerian American to play in the NBA and one of the NBA best all time player is Yoruba, in person of Hakeem The Dream Olajuwon, the only Nigerian American in nba Hall of fame and fiba Hall of fame. Nba ain't new to us, we already have our tribeman at the pinnacle of the NBA, come back when y'll beat that. 2 Likes 1 Share
