Cost of crude oil under Jonathan was much higher.

Landing cost was much higher and yet petrol was far cheaper than under buhari with lower crude oil prices and landing cost.

How do you reconcile this anomaly?

as you all regret, many have not learnt anything. Ask them to vote here in Lagos , they will still collect 2 packs of indomie , 3 cups of rice and vote back their oppressors. The annoying thing is that some of them whose relatives are part of this government will still be up here defending them while battling hunger, insecurity and hopelessness. Hate him or love him, GEJ would have kept us a bit away from what we are seeing now with peace and rest of mind

Nigerians deserve subsidies, it is the only thing the masses enjoy from our natural wealth, nations over the world give subsidies to their people in various ways, does saying they do not want subsidies are ignorant, apart from subsidies, there is nothing Nigerians gain from our national wealth. Jail the thieves stealing subsidy funds, not throwing away subsidies all together, when common utilities are subsidised, the people have more disposal income, this stimulates the economy.

Personally I don't think this Zombie guy called Buhari is at fault here, we Nigerians gan gan are the problem, when you guys wanted to vote Buhari in, you didn't pray to God to help the dullard o, did you? And God decides to leave you and your dullard Buhari since you guys thought Buhari is capable and didn't think God is the One to help the dullard...
I just feel God is punishing us...

Why must we import for goodness sake. Why do we have 4 refineries that are not working despite the billions spent on TAM? Who is benefitting from our refineries being grounded? Why is it that when we earned less Nigeria was able to build those refineries but we cannot build ANY despite the fact that our income from crude has gone up astronomically over the years. These are the questions Nigerians need to demand answers for.
Q1-we must import in order to fund luxurious lifestyle of the politicians that are importing, dont forget importers are also donors to political parties(especially any party in power)
Q2-the refineries are destined for doom because over the years, staff have been employed based on who submitted their names NOT what they can offer
Q3-the elites, the politicians, the ruling party/government (APC now and PDP in their period too)
Q4- growth rate of thieves is 4 times more than the growth rate of income. we generally celebrate wealth in this country and most people aspire to be like these thieves . it is on paper that chinua achebe and wole shoyinka are role models, we actually live our lives trying to become dasuki, saraki, tinubu and d rest

And you think it's sold at 50 naira per litre where you're running to?
Where he is running to, how many times do you need to buy fuel? It's not as if he will be needing fuel everyday to fuel generator, the public transportation system is top notch so you don't even need to drive your car around much if you have one so what will he be desperate to buy fuel for?

Don't be stupid..... In USA you are paid minimum of $20 per hour for menial jobs, You have 24/7 electricity

Even when price of PMS in USA/UK/Canada or other developed countries is expensive do you need to buy fuel to run your generator?

Bus Fare is almost free for a distance of 2-4 KM with ticket incentives

Owing in a car in USA is almost useless because train, Mass Transit Bus system is working effectively with all routes covered, can you say same here in Nigeria?

Just because you are paid N30,000 monthly by your paymasters does not give you the capacity to lose your senses to humanity and reality on ground... So GTFOOH!!!

So why were you and your devilish Buhari telling us during Jonathan's time that N87 was too much? You promised to bring it down to N40 instead you have more than doubled the price and you are still saying it's cheap. You people have no shame.

They should revert it to 65naira per liter.

The price of crude oil is not up to 100 dollars so the price of petrol, shouldn't be this high to warrant paying subsidy

Because you are benefiting doesnt mean you should rub your apparent ignorance in their faces. What is the cost of living and the GDP per capita and the level of infrastructural devt in the country that he's eyeing? All you know is to borrow. Kindly borrow some sense, thanks.

Most people reading the article dont understand what is happening and make comments out of ignornance

Here is the full gist of the article

1.It now costs 183 naira to import one liter of fuel

2. Yet we are paying N163 at the pump for that same liter

3. That means that government is subsidizing fuel to the tune of N20. Per liter

At the end of the day it is still a bad decision

1. We can't have good refineries because the money we would have used for refinereis is being spent on subsidies for imported fuel

2. Also, who wants to invest in new refineries and watch his or her profit go because government wants to subsidise fuel. If government was controlling prices for everything, would poeple be able to make profits to fund their businesses?

We are buying fuel from Niger. Niger sells fuel at N350. They dont subsidse fuel. At the end of the day they have the profit to pay for the running costs of their refinery. That is why they can sell fuel to us easily, while we canmot export fuel anywhere bwcause we have made it difficult for most investors to come and build refineries for us since they don't want to refine fuel and then sell it at a price below what it cost them to refine it.

The truth is this government is too scared to remove subsides. So they lie about removing them...when what they are doing is rasing thw price to a level which they can afdord to keep on subsidizing

The government is not scared to remove subsidies, the government don't just know how to do right things, the government wants to continue to subsidise corruption, large nos of those fuels would find their way to other African countries.
Since 2015, No single refineries is working, no new one is added, is it a crime if we refine our local consumption, why is government only interested in money money, and not cared about people.
