I keep saying this Lagos not part of the top 5 cities in Nigeria forget the opportunities . The city is damn too overrated, dusty and dirty with bad roads...

Foreigners and other Nigerians living outside Nigeria should stop using lagos to judge the whole Nigeria.. Nigeria is a beautiful place without Lagos.. I have this Kenyan friends that visited lagos Nigeria and guess what? they said Lagos is a worse and it's probably the most ugliest city they have been too.. There are many other cities outside Lagos that are doing better citiy like Abuja is miles ahead of Lagos in infrastructure other cities like enugu, uyo, abeokuta, port Harcourt, calabar are also not doing bad.. pls Lagos is not the whole of Nigeria

This does not change the fact that in Australia there are 48 million kangaroos and in Uruguay there are 3,457,380 inhabitants. So if the kangaroos decide to invade Uruguay, each Uruguayan will have to fight 14 kangaroos.

If lagos is to go for a job opening with other states in nigeria..only lagos state will come with a university degree..the rest states get only first school leaving certificate.

Lagos can be cleaner,less open open defecation and smiling street , gutters and smelling canals.They can do better with good road regulation and tout on the road ..is not all about structure alone but a cleaner and livable eviroment .

Just say Abuja is better, then go and rest.

Don't forget most states only develop their capital. You should be comparing Ikeja with Port Harcourt or Maiduguri.

What do you expect when Lagos has been forced to carry the burden of 200 million people.
Nigerians are their own problem, when you advocate for federal government to put in place policies and incentives as well as enabling environment for other ports in P.H, Warri and Onitsha to be fully utilized, you will see ethnic local champions like Aribisala or what does he call himself feeling threatened.

If Nigeria is a smart country, those in authority will holistically look at the basic root of mass migration to Lagos and systematically discourage it. How do you do that?

You ensure that more ships berth at other ports in Nigeria instead of Lagos. You move certain government agencies out of Lagos or at least decentralize them across the regions. You encourage airlines to make use of other airports by increasing Lagos tax or levy and reducing others. You discourage huge industries from being sited in Lagos, a good example is Dangote refinery. Why would Dangote build such refinery in Lagos when he could have built it in Ondo or Rivers or Akwa Ibom.

Let me even tell you something, Lagos is choking to death and the city will collapse in no distant time if the status quo should continue.
