I was almost accused of kidnapping when the police turned it upside down. That how did I end with the kids for years if not kidnap. My image and that of my family in the area was seriously dented. Thankfully we treated the kids well and they wore the same clothes mine wore and eat the same meal so many people in the community knew it was a ploy. But the experience is one that seriously damaged my soul.

I will hardly help people again. Hardly.

I'm sorry to hear about your story. But we have to be very careful about who we help. I can remember seeing a real life crime episode where a man took in a homeless couple. Gave them a place to live and some money to take care of their daily needs. Sadly, they ended up conspiring to kill him. They were so heartless. I won't give you the gruesome details, but that changed me forever. I only help people I genuinely know and care about -- very close friends and family. I never help strangers. It's good to be kind, but being kind to the wrong people can even put your life at risk. It's sad, but that's how the world works.

Nigerians are like that o. One I helped and took his two children in when he was about to throw them away and run due to poverty and hunger after years of refining and polishing claimed I was mistreated them. They conspired and had me and my family lucked up. If you see the skin of this kids glowing.

What I later learnt triggered everything, a guest of mine that has eyes on them they go assist in her so called flat took interest and they all schemed and put the plan together. The kids taught they met someone richer even though they weren't lacking. Next thing like play like play I got locked in station with my family accessed of maltreatment. When they were never lacking. It may take a while, but I know God would vindicate me.

I'll just counsel people to be careful in dispensing goodness in this generation. Some don't value it.

I really don't think you should generalize, because you have obviously not encountered all Nigerians. Thank you.

Nigeria is truly the world poverty capital!

I honestly dont know what your expectation is but what he earns is way above average industry rate for his level in Nigeria. No one encouraged him to be birthing kids like a rat while stealing his employer blind. I hope he moves to the US quickly with his integrity issue. If everyone in Nigeria were to protest the economic situation like he did, no one would be safe. That chef was a complete azzzshole! Let him go and be stealing from his wife.

No, don't hire him back.

It is in the DNA. You are big enough to afford it no biggie in their mind. They forget that no matter how rich you are no one like to be stolen from. My advice if that is his only vice you are better off with him. The devil you know they say. The prospective one is likely to be worse and if not which is a tiny probability you still have to retrain him in your ways. Too much trouble.

There is a part of nijah DNA that brings out the most ridiculous display of ungrateful ness and wickedness if tempted.
Obviously it’s not in all of us, thank God, however
It can leave one with an indifferent attitude towards others less well off.
It’s now becoming a dangerous thing to help somebody for nijah republic.

grin grin I can't help but laugh when I read this on Linda Ikeji Oga is writing out loud now everyone got to read it.
Anyway there is reason why the world clemency is there in the dictionary, I know you would argue it is not a first time offend but in reality it is, after all others were mere suspicion moreover the Chef have responsibilities which includes Young kids and a Nursing wife so I am appealing to Oga to temper justice with mercy, Abi who no like enjoy ,if his service is top notch Biko give him a warning and put 20k CCTV in your kitchen... "I Now Understand Why People Treat Domestic Staff Like Sh*t" - Wakanow CEO Narrates Experience With His Chef

The CEO of Wakanow, Bayo Adedeji took to his Facebook handle to narrate his experience with his chef which made him change his perception about Nigerian domestic staff, IgbereTV reports.

According to him, he treats his chef well, pays him a reasonable monthly salary and even adds additional cash as transport allowance.

He found out that the food bill was going high despite the fact that he was not entertaining guests due to the pandemic.

Mr Adedeji said he then decided to go shopping himself but only two weeks after, he was shocked to find that some of the supplies had finished. He was later disappointed as he caught his chef moving some foodstuff from his house.

"I gave it all to him and told him not to come back again. I paid him for the time he had worked during the month. I know I am overly nice."
And we wonder why the Nigerian system is rotten and doesn't work. By letting him go free without prosecution, he is being let loose back into society to continue stealing with nothing on his record. His next employer is in trouble. Second, why in the world would you think you're being nice by paying someone for the time they worked? This mentality is common amongst Nigerian employers and itself is a thieving mentality. A workman is entitled to their wages. You are not doing him a favor by paying him.

What do you do if you run into an old school mate, he was looking spent and worn out, no job, no house and you felt life has not been kind to him.
You offer him a job in your own establishment, made him "Admin officer" to look after other staff and gave him a room self-contained in your own house.
You really treat him life family because you dont want him to feel that you are looking down on him due to his unfortunate circumstances in life.
A few Months down the line, you catch him on top of your own wife, in your own bed.

Do you blame yourself for being nice and caring or you just develop a very bad attitude towards helping others?
People will always be people, INGRATES.

what's stopping you from doing it yourself? After all, it's your house and it's only yourself you can trust with valuables in your house. In extreme cases, just get a day to day maid. These poor people are horrible! I've experienced alot from these shithole people!
