Good step in the right direction.

Necessity is truly the mother of invention.

After this,
Then the Government should move towards the establishment of Cattle ranch as it is being done in saner climes...
This will be a very good opportunity to get that fixed also,

[s$Although sane and honest Nigerians should not be surprised when some people start wailing that why is the government using their tax (sic) money to build ranches.....same ranches they have been wailing about for few years now.[/s]
Even if they are told that the ranches were built by private investors, they will never and can never believe.
Nothing will ever make them happy in life, all their lives is to wail 24/7.
Frustrated troublemakers.

Nigeria will be great in our lifetime.
Peace is all we wantin our darling nation.
they must not use our money!
These people are feel too entitled

Nice one from South West Governors.

South West usually use diplomacy to solve issues, and if they want to be stubborn, then we have to tell them that ani were lori too wink

Violence and war, is our last resort.

God bless South West
God bless Ile Oodua

"Violence and war, is our last resort."

Exactly! And I love that about south west.

And he can Also do it through government aid, humanitarian etc.

If he wants to do it.
There are many ways to do it.

BTW, ain't you guys making profit while selling cows?

Yes, but we shouldn't turn our region to a war zone also.

Else state of emergency will be declared and the economics, activities, school, work will be put to stop
the earlier we arm the more unlikely our region is under the control of soldiers biko is borno under state of emergency what about benue?

The governors are just decieving themselves, have they made laws banning open grazing n enforcing ranching?, except this headline is misleading only night grazing n grazing by minors was banned, this is an opportunity list to solve this problem in the SW,the simply thing to do is to ban open free grazing n enforce ranching or the establishment of grazing reserves,l only hope we don't hear a different story in the nearest future.

Why don't the herdsmen have a ranch where they can graze their cattles jejely without disturbing anyone and without being disturbed??

Cattle grazing is a personal business not a community business.

So true. It's so absurd to think that in 2031, people just walk their cattle around the whole country, to eat. It's just mind boggling.

We can never be stranded. Our cows are in the bush, foraging and growing fat. No one can take us out of the bushes and forests

Aside the ban on open grazing, all Fulani herdsmen should register with their host community with their passport photographs for easy identification.
Re: South-West Governors And Miyetti Allah Ban Open Grazing After Meeting by ayo84(m): 8:31am On Jan 26, 2021
the issue about this grazing this is this, the entire process of a cow moving from location to location is an old age long spiritual assessment of plants, greenery and weather and various ways to assess various lands, it is a very complex natural system which is mimical to how you have security cameras monitoring the activity in a house from room to room, the migration of the cows is very old age spiritual system to monitor many things, its just it has to be modernized with grazing routes which can become sources of manure for fertilizer, routes can be monetised by indigenous communities to get the manures and also land clearing routes in exchange for forage for the cattle.

Bros I don't know ur level of education but u should know that cattle rearing is a private business not govt own, others rear goat ,dog, pig etc ,so govt should tax people to open business for these people or what old try and reason in that direction

Hope no more herders issues after this meeting

open grazing is more like culture to them... They move because of rainfall trends in Nigeria... Now they will start moving to the southern part of Nigeria because it's still raining over there... In d North rain will stop around August so they will start moving immediately... So it's their culture
