For the newbies. As per one way.

You can't make a left turn into Oniru from Ozumba Mbadiwe if you are coming from Lekki Phase 1.

Google map will gladly lead you into the waiting arms of lastma and traffic police at the other end. grin.

BTW there is a "No Left turn sign" by the signpost ( reason why you need to be very observant).

In this case, the local signage trumps any advisory from Gmap.

Yes it is. Google map or not, I still expect a licensed driver to read road signs very well. Any driver that says I NO KNOW, even with all the signs there shouldn't be driving.

I intentionally did it one day when I saw a government official car quickly passed and I quickly followed him as I saw that as an opportunity to quickly cross over the lane, they tried to stop the official car but he drove pass them but they stopped me and were like I passed one way, I just told them I don't know o since I saw that official car passed, I thought it's a normal way.

They wanted to obtain me but I told them I just started work and my rider intend to even pay me with transfer, that's how I started pretending as if I can get little cash from me but then I just told them there's no cash on me.

They were just looking at each other till they were forced to say I should go.

I had over 10k cash with me that day but all na format.

RPM affects oil consumption. The higher your usual RPM is the more oil will be consumed. That's because you put extra pressure on the seals and gaskets and some of the oil finds its way around and gets burned away in the combustion chamber. ... The hotter your engine runs the thinner your oil will be.

Ps ... You driving habits contributed to it .. .. To avoid shaking tables .. I will not comment on ur driving habits cool

Currently, my car RPM is high, I observed other cars I've been driving, once I start the engine, the RPM will be on 0 unless I raise the engine but this my current car, the RPM is little higher above 1 and it's been like that for 4 months I've been using the car, I've never touch anything on this car since I picked it up, I only do service, I've not even changed brake pad or linkages.

But it doesn't shorten oil and I drive 4k miles before I change the oil, reason why I let it reach 4k is because the mechanic in charge said we should not being the car when it's not up to a month we change the oil and I realized I drive 1k miles within a week.

I totally disagree with you guys on this.

Bolt algorithms on request is meant to pick the closet driver the rider making a request for a ride. If all condition remains constant the request has no business sidelining the driver beside the driver and then picking a driver that's 5min away. 5min away on the Bolt App can be up to 3-5km on the driver's end on a free road oooh because most time 1m on the rider's app means below 1km on the driver's end(on GMAP) unless there's traffic it can say 5min because the Bolt App doesn't tell the rider how distance the driver is to them apart from the time.

It could be that the driver was having either a network issue at the time a merger was taking place btw the rider closest to you at that time or probably you where trying to go online while the request was being made. (I believe thats what you meant by FIFO)

This is only possible in the uber app and even with some ideal condition but in an ideal condition(e.g activity score and rating on previous rider btw the two party) the uber app will pick the closest driver to the rider.
well u may be right , but on my personal experience i hv been with a rider in my car countless of times only for them to re request me and get another driver even wen i set my destination to riders exact location

Lemme give you the logic so you don't have issues with that.

Next time when you want to ask a rider to re request you like that, you don't even need to set destination to where the rider is going, just observe the min to arrival on the rider app or ask the rider what min is it showing to arrival, if it's over 1min, just know the request will be going to another driver far from the PU.

So when the rider is ready to request, go online and ask the rider to click where he/she is going, once it shows 1min to PU, ask the rider to comfirm the order and make the request, it will surely come to you but if it's consistently show 3min upward, then go offline and go online back and ask the rider to make the request.

Also the reason why such request won't come to you again is if you have been placed on card trips only and the request is cash, it won't come to you.

Let me drop this tip here on how I set destination more than twice a day.

From Monday to Thursday, i don't do anyhow trips, before I leave home(mushin), i always set destination to Ajah market.
many times, i get trips going to from Chevron down to ikota school, only few times I get to from lekki phase 1 to jakande.

So when I get such trip, i will just explain to the rider i don't want to exhaust my chances of setting destination and he should cancel while I remove the destination and request me back.

So when I get to lekki, i do same back to the mainland where I will set ikeja lagos and i mostly get somolu or ajao estate, immediately I get to mainland, i will just go home and set destination again to ajah market.
I do that on 2 round trips and that alone, I would have gross 13k or more depending on traffic and distance.
I do that only from Monday to Thursday while Friday to Sunday, i do all trips cux of weekend bonuses.

Not all rider understand that reason o, some might even sense it as a red flag, to some they will think you have something up your sleeve. It works though, I do it as well, but some facial response from some rider made me stop it....

It all depends on how you explain to them, many times I do that, they don't sense red flag and make sure while explaining, your facial expression looks real and innocent...
Lolz, I do get tips from many of my riders with my facial expression.

Good evening guys, i just bought a car from someone and i want to take it for general servicing but the problem is the real owner of the car which happens to be the persons dad is now late and the person selling the car has no idea of the type of oil that was used in the vehicle. Your activity scores at the time could have been responsible. Merging rides on "set destination" can be very deceptive at times... But I still believe it simple and direct. The bolt algorithm doesn't work with previous rating to merge ride but with activity score and distance is what bolt requires to merge a ride.

On the other hands, Uber? A lot of things like:
*Rating (base on previous ride btw driver and rider)
*activity scores
*distance within the 2km radial
*FCFS within airport region

These are what the app takes into consideration to merge rides.

I maybe wrong though.

My own personal car goes up to a little over 1k RPM maybe because of cold weather start in Yankee..

But after about 2minutes or less the RPM stays at 1k on the dot ..... This is why it is very important to follow owners manual at all times when it comes Oil grade .......

At early start in the morning is when u get a lot of wear and tear ... The engine oil has to be thin enough to able to circulate and get to the bearing and valves of the engine to help lubricate in time ...

But with thicker oil like 20w50 or so it takes longer for the oil to circulate to those essential parts of the engine. So it is imperative you follow owners manual from the onset of ur car ....

Also keep in mind ehailing takes a toll on these cars.. The constant stop and go puts a lot of strain on the car .. Some uber driver u seem them driving fast dodging traffic getting into preventable accident etc all those things will tell on your rpm and will also cause your car to short oil .. Depending on the car brand some will short oil more than others.........

For what it’s worth ...concerning engine oil shortage and 20W50 weights of oil

My dad purchased a new tear nylon Toyota car from mandilas in 2004 and after the usual warranty period where he was taking the vehicle in to the dealership for services (like one year or so) he started using Mobil XHP 20W50 since 2006 till date. It’s a daily driver and he uses it with air conditioning too.

This car does not short oil, engine is still powerful, water drops from tail pipe in the mornings after starts and engine top has never been opened. I don’t know if there’s sludge in it as I’m yet to peep into the fill hole.

He changes his oil religiously at every 3000 kilometers.

From this case study, I think a viscosity of oil damaging your engine is only possible when you don’t change it out on time (not for newer engines).

He is experiencing a slight drop in mpg though, maybe it’s from other factors or it may be the oils viscosity.

God bless you for this.

I remember when my former car was shortening oil I took it to radautoworks and the first question I was asked was "what's the millage of the car? 165kmiles I said. This same advice was suggested to me by the professional but my boss refused then we finally changed valve seal and pvc valve as well, though it reduced the oil shortening but didn't eliminate it totally, we still kept on topping with 1ltr at every 1000miles.

Same way its good to follow manufacturer's advice is same way its also good to follow professional's and experience advice.

Manufacturer advice is mostly valid wen car is still in brand new condition, not over 10years ago, way manufacturer don get how many models grin grin grin

Cos one called me today and I need to verify his identity as anyone can take my number from here and disguise as a road safety officer. He called the person that shared my contact with you a Doctor or so.

You can please reply this here or send a DM or a WhatsApp message with his number just to be sure.
