Let him take teaching job for a while until his appointment is confirmed this will coverup as his last place of work.

Teaching jobs doesn't carry out background check like companies.

However,if is his appointment is not confirmed from the school and he decides to leave the new company will still make reference to not only the school but the former company where he worked last.

This is not a case to rush,be careful to avoid making it more complex.

Truth is that you were sacked Based on misconduct which the company frowned at and not on the ground that the company decided to downside it staff because of economic recession. I bet you can hardly have enough convincing explanation to this, it is better for you if your spell with the company is not too long which makes it easier for you to exclude their experience in your cv otherwise the interviewer will love to know what you were doing those long period you claimed not to be working. Package yourself and your CV and be ready for the unthinkable question HR personnel are smarter than you can imagine. Is our work o

Over do they worry them, most employers will go behind you to run background check on their staff, everyone want to be very sure of people under their employment. They verify your home address/certificate/guarantors/previous employer and even your referees . E shock you.

A contract staff was queried on marketing report without prior notice/warning (they are to followup customers and prospects everyday and write a report on the outcome). he was accused of putting in some ficticious names and information. He was found guilty by disciplinary panel and dismissed on grounds of falsification of information, deliberately misleading panel and doubtful integrity.

He is looking for another job.
HR personel in the house, can he include the experience he has with the said firm on his CV?
will it affect his chances of getting another job?

note: its not a fraud case or money issue. The victim was witchhunted.

Doubtful integrity..... you need to work on your integrity period. I'm 99% sure this is your situation... why can't you say?.... why post it as someone's else dilemma? ... isn't it smartness the reason you lost the job?

A good company will always do a background check. You list experience .... assume they will follow up. The reason for being sacked is bad news .... leave it out.

Somemthings are better left unsaid.

Most companies do what? Abeg, they don't do shiit.

From experience, Big & serious organisations do background checks. Some even go as far as your primary school to verify.

Don't trivialise the offense with the above submission. He was queried and found guilty according to you. Note: falsification is a crime whether it was aimed at stealing or misleading an institution especially one that is very concious with her integrity.
Now to your enquiry: It depends on several factors. If excluding the job from his CV won't create a wide idle period for him, he might do that and that is also if he had other references that will at least give him more edge. Of course he should be expecting to hear questions about his formal employment, i.e why did you leave? What was your job schedule? Etc. Note: it depends largely on the nature of the job & company to vet those info or not. But most, about 95% won't border except they hear wide spread rumours about the person. So your question largely varis from nature of job, company, etc.

Most companies do background checks from your previous employers and if they found out that you played a smart one at your former job, it is a no no because it is an "INTEGRITY" issue.
Out of thousands of applicants,
I don't think they do that

I've been in this position before and i was asked why i left my former work place. I only told the interviewer that i needed a new challenge and environment to show case my skills and bring more productivity into his company just like i did at my previous work place.

A friend got a job with foreign ministry some years ago, they went all the way to his primary school to verify he attended that school.
Another friend lost his Job with a Big multinational after they went to verify his Graduate qualifications, even though he rectified it but it was too late.
They usually verify after you have accepted offer and resumed work, since most times your under probation for 1 year before confirmation.

Only if you reference a number in your CV, without that, many don't care about any background check.

Put it and forget all the trash talk of background checks. The only people that do background checks are government agencies, like EU and American govt.

Yes. If it adds relevance; especially if leaving it out will make an inexplicable time gap; but don't link references. And if asked why you left, don't lie about the incident.

The question is whether he did falsify the info or not. If I want to employ someone, I prefer to make my own assessment of his integrity, so a past sack for integrity may not dissuade me from employing him if he seems honest enough to me and has other skills needed. Everyone deserves a second chance.
I'll watch him like a hawk though, and let him know that I'm doing so.

I like this response. We need more of you everywhere.

It depends on the company and role he is applying for like one that demands high level of integrity. Some companies do background check to the grain. Including what employees post on social media. So if he feels that company is the type, he'd do well to exclude it from his resumé. Otherwise no need to worry as most companies are mainly interested in productivity.

Add the experience you gain while on the job.
When asked during an Interview, tell them why you were sacked and how you have learned from your mistakes.
Depending on the company, it could be a plus to you.
