Shop owner in Accra refused to respond to my request for an item and muttered in Twi about "these Nigerians". One BDC saw me bring out 3,000 GhS from my pocket (about N240,000 equivalent) when searching for a piece of paper, and when I asked to buy $100 to pay for the excess luggage I had to carry for my flight back to Naija the next day, he started asking for my passport in such a rude and aggressive tone. This is a BDC where I had routinely changed USD countless times in the past.

Also, if you are a Nigerian driving Uber in Ghana, expect a Ghanaian passenger to immediately cancel the ride once the find out your identity. Ghanaians are just the worst in terms of racist/xenophobic behaviour. At least the South Africans will show you the thing frontally and overtly. Ghanaians prefer the covert approach.

Thing is racism (covert or subtle) exists in every country; growing a tough skin and feigning indifference are two ways of managing racism.

Why would they put on their masks? That's dumb of them. They are the ones with COVID-19. Why did they complain when they got on the train and French citizens immediately put on their masks?

I've not experienced racism, though. But you will always have people that have a problem with African hair.

i never understands what it means to be racially abused,until 2011 when i boarded a train from Beijing west train station to Guangzhou Train station. I was the only black man in that coach,everyone was Just looking at me,talking in their Language and laughing at me,calling me HEGWE(BLACK DEVIL)Because i don't understand the Language then.The most annoying part was when a family that sat close was telling their cry cry baby that if he crys again that they will bring him to me and the baby stopped crying. It was hell for me back then,especially when it's coming from Chinese people not from original White people

I travel and do bizz alot in china,i think this is not very common in Guangzhou,the Chinese there are used to blacks there,so they interact and do bizz together,some even speak igbo languages fluently,like a chinese woman that do sale bread and a man that do sale food.

Racism might be common in some province like shaoxin and other places that arent used to seeing blacks come for bizz.

It's the subtle racism that's worse. Right there in the UK. Someone will cross to the other side of the road when they see you coming, others refuse to sit beside you on the train or bus (and it had nothing to do with social distancing) Some they flat out refuse to stand in the queue next to you at the ATM or mall.

At the airport in Dubai, I waited until everyone was out so I can move from the my economy section to the business class so I can snap pix to oppress my friends at home. I entered metro. Knowing how racist most Chinese are towards blacks, I don't sit beside them (I go avoid you before you avoid me). This woman still whispered to her husband and they changed seat I told them no need to change seat I'm not sitting close to you. In China, if they see you it's either they adjust their mask, change route or use their hands to cover their nose. This is everyday occurrence

I actually don't care about racism, i don't want them to like me, i just want them to have basic respect, i like it when they don't sit next to me, but where i am some have shown great respect, its not all of them that are racist.

I am surprised sometimes, some whites are very decent. There was a time i was in a bank, and its normal sometimes to allow old people go in front of the queue, been old citizens, and i loved that, and i really don't care, when an old person comes in front of me in a queue, because i would love people to do the same to my parents in old age. But there was this woman, not very old, she looks like a heavy drinker and she carried that white privilege's posture, i was about to meet a bank cashier, and this woman with white privilege's just crossed me. Hahaha, i pretended like i did not know, then all the white people in the bank told the cashier, that i am supposed to go first.

Then the cashier told the woman to wait, and i went, lol. ( learn to always compose yourself in other countries, sometimes you don't need to even say anything, just stand).


At least nobody attacks me physically, its better compared to Nigeria, where they will even attack you physically.

Well as a person, i am very composed when i want to be, and i will not care about any person wronging me.

Over all, i am okay, i like space, and the funny thing is that, i don't even care, and most many sit close to me, because where i am they also don't really care.
