Wittyglam:But if you really love someone, you wouldn't like the person to suffer in the name of marriage. |

Some people don't see it as suffer. Someone is cheating on you with different people and claim he is helping you. HellVictorinho: |

Love alone cannot guarantee a happy relationship or marriage. What you need for the love to function effectively is honesty, respect, truthfulness, understanding, tolerance...etc. 2 Likes |

Wittyglam: Love is more than enough but the problem is that people don't really love but they are only with you for what they can benefit from you. |

Nazgul: Love is all encompassing of all you mentioned. |
Re: Is Love Enough In A Relationship? by Nazgul: 8:26pm On Feb 11, 2021 |
Toks2008:Love fades easily...respect, understanding, truthfulness, honesty... etc doesn't because they're the inbuilt nature of a person with a good home training regardless of whether or not love is present. So if you're lucky to come across such person, your relationship/marriage will work. |
Re: Is Love Enough In A Relationship? by Toks2008(m): 8:33pm On Feb 11, 2021 |
Nazgul: You still don't get. Respect, understanding, honesty and all these aforementioned is what love is all about. |
Re: Is Love Enough In A Relationship? by Nazgul: 8:50pm On Feb 11, 2021 |
Toks2008:On paper yes in reality no. Many people who claim to love their spouses lie, some are dishonest, some are rude and lack respect...etc. These good qualities you mentioned don't come in because you love a person, they're in built based on the way you were brought up as a child. A guy who was born with a silver spoon and wasn't brought up properly will disrespect any female he comes across. He will talk rudely to them, hurt their feelings... It has nothing to do with whether or not he loves his spouse, he might be spending a considerable amount of money on her, but it's his nature to be rude. A girl who survived on runs in campus will lie to any man she comes across whether or not she loves him...it's her nature. Love doesn't change the nature of a person, that's why I suggested an easy remedy, which is to go for someone who already possess these qualities as his/her default character, so whether or not the love is present he/she can still accord you the respect, honest, truthfulness...etc you deserve. |

Nazgul: Don't waste your time trying to desociate protein from meat...if meat does not contain protein then it is never a meat. So get my point one last time...there is no love without these attributes of love so don't even juxtapose.. So the point is that people are not even capable of loving for love but all they want is what they can benefit. So if it is indeed love then it is more than enough. 1 Like |

Love comes in different ways, but no matter how small it is being displayed, #ATokenOfLove should always be appreciated. |
Re: Is Love Enough In A Relationship? by Nazgul: 9:19pm On Feb 11, 2021 |
Toks2008:Lol...I'm not arguing with you...cos you're absolutely right. But you're coming from the theoretical aspect. The way it should be based on the definition of love and what it's all about. And how those who claim to be in love must back up their claims by possessing all these qualities. I'm viewing it from the realistic aspect, what we're presently experiencing in our everyday lives. Love fades, that's a reality. No matter how much a person loves you, at one point it obviously will fade off, you'll discover that the fire isn't glowing as it used to be when you guys started. At this point, what will keep the relationship/marriage going is the person's character. How he/she was brought up. That's your backup plan. If you go into a relationship believing that once your spouse loves you, all the good qualities associated with the word love will begin to manifest in your relationship, you'll be greatly disappointed the day that love vanishes, cos that's the day the true identity of your spouse will be revealed. Case study, men who loose their jobs and their wives suddenly become the breadwinner of the home...on paper we will be made to understand that true love conquers all. But in reality many men who find themselves in such situation always have a sad tale to tell. 1 Like |

Nazgul: Exactly my point. Love never fades but because it was never love but selfish expectation, that desire fades away once the expectation is not met. See Many people only stick along until they find someone better but some never do so they just linger on with who they are with believing that a bird at hand is worth a thousand flying out there. This is why i dont go into any relationship with high expectation..i give my best and still expect the worst. Human love is a scam. 2 Likes |

For a start, men and women love differently. For most men, we auto-assume financial, physical and emotional responsibilities to the woman we love to a reasonable degree because women understand love by receiving, while for men, it's giving. A man's love can be enough to sustain a relationship, but a woman's love is not. Giving is stronger and greater than receiving. 7 Likes 1 Share |
