duni04: In the event that you don’t know, civil service is almost the same everywhere . In USA , Scotland , Ethiopia they are all the same in terms of poor communication, delays , lack of proactiveness and all. Regarding Canada EE I’ll tell you a bit about my experience. After being so reluctant and procrastinating the language exam , I took the exams and created a profile with dummy scores of 6,6,6,6 knowing that I wouldn’t get an ITA in the draws of august 2020. Got my ielts result and waited two weeks to update my profile because I wanted to get the TRF. This placed me on a CRS score of 481. When ITA came on October 14 I turned it down against the advice of about two contributors here. I just felt I wasn’t ready to get FBI doc and U.K. PCC under 60 days. I was told it was now 90 days but online i read comments about it being 60 days and 90 days just for medicals . I told myself I’ll accept that of October 30th and turned it down. October 28th 2020 came and there was no draw lol. A few days later ( November 3rd ) was my birthday but wasn’t worried because 481 gave me enough margin. However heard rumours of +50 points for french proficient profiles with worries that 481 ( now 476 after birthday ) will not be competitive enough. A draw happened two days after my birthday with cutoff of 478. I did not qualify and it occurred to me that I was careless . Nevertheless a draw followed on November 18 where I got ITA. My conclusion from this was that policy changes will continue to happen and each time there’s a policy change it will favour some and not favour some. The +50 for bilinguals favoured bilinguals but didn’t favour non-bilinguals. The CEC only draws have favoured many inland candidates who have had sleepless nights over their immigration status . We don’t know what will happen in the next few weeks and months . Nevertheless, improving scores will place candidates in a better position to receive an ITA when The next all program draw takes place 21 Likes |

PGD is a 1 year diploma so thats what it would be evaluated as and you would get equivalent points. Points for Highest degree only applies to Masters and PHD... if you want to use PGD you would have to add a HND or BSc to that and get 2 or more certificates. so you can do HND+BSc, Diploma+BSC, BSc+PGD, HND+ PGD and so on, to get 2 or more certs. purespikes: |

purespikes: You told us in Jan that you'd evaluated Masters and PGD with WES and that your CRS was at 450: https://www.nairaland.com/6081746/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/404#98444589 Is it the PA (usually the younger person) that has the Masters? Did both of you max out on IELTS? If it is the non-PA spouse that has the PGD, you only gain 3 additional points with 1 yr program vs two degrees. What parameters make up the 450? Pls review page 1 carefully again, especially the CRS grid to see what you can do to increase points....it will save you precious time and money. 1 Like 1 Share |

Midex88: What Canada immigration site are you using? Check your eligibility first before completing the Express entry profile. If you're eligible, it gives you a reference number. Use the link below https://onlineservices-servicesenligne.cic.gc.ca/c2c/eapp.do 1 Like |

ednut1:Ok i have a bit of time for you now If your PoF is in a foreign currency, the RR is very common. It is just an indication to the officer to review before marking it passed. Understanding “Review Required” (there's a long note under this but let's just skip to where we need) Finally, there is “review required” for PoF. This is the most common in many applications. This is because, the financial and banking practices of each country are different. Eg. Fixed deposits are know as Certificate of Deposit (CD) in the US. Similarly, treasury bonds, mutual funds, stocks, and many other investment vehicles are there. If your PoF anything other than a bank deposit, it is more likely that it will be marked as “review required.” Also, IRCC does not go by day to day fluctuations in FOREX. Instead, the Canadian federal government issued a quarterly conversion rate for all FOREX vis-a-via CAD. If your PoF is in a foreign currency, then you will have “review required” for the officer to make a determination. Just because you have “review required” does not mean that you hit the panic mode. Instead, read the context in which it is there. If there is a concern regarding a document, you can send a replacement document via CSE. You were saying? 2 Likes |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by Ola2j: 9:49am On Feb 15, 2021 |
ednut1: I once said on this forum that ircc does not use the daily exchange rate&some so-called "experts" nearly blew my head off. They even showed me a page on cic website where the daily conversion rate is shown. But extensive research has made me know that the daily exchange rate is shit. For example, when I submitted, the exchange rate as at that day was 283 thereby putting my pof to $13,100. When I received my gcms note, all the funds aspect showed met except the analyst note which carried RR nd when I checked the available funds aspect in the note, I saw $11,814. To get 11,814 you need to use about 310 as the conversion rate. So I checked the "daily" conversion rate the experts talked-about from the day I submitted till the day the gcms was generated, none of them got me 11,814. In November someone submitted the same amount I used for PoF nd when we received gcms note, the available funds was 13,700. There's proof if you still doubt. I know another person that submitted 400k less of the PoF nd still got ppr. My point is I do not say what I do not know 3 Likes |

Good day all. Please I plan using my NYSC experience for my EE profile. Can I get Experience letter from my PPA (Secondary School) or do I need to get it from NYSC as the Allawee payments show it's from NYSC. NB: There was no extra payment by the school. Only FG Allawees are showing on my Bank Statements. Thanks. |

Yawndee: 25% of your pension saving is admissible as POF. I used that for my OINP application and I also intend to use it to respond for ITA. |

Good morning guys, So I woke up this morning thinking of how the recent immigration developments may have dampened the morale of ITA hopefuls (including myself- CRS score of 470 and was expecting to get ITA in the first draw of the year). Hang in there! I've been following all covid-19 related news in Canada and I think we're headed for good times. The numbers are dropping significantly and there's a cure already (Was worse last year when the pandemic first broke out- there was no cure initially). Vaccines are being rolled out and vaccines development within Canada is making significant progress. The PM has mentioned every resident of Canada who wants to be vaccinated will be by September 2021. I looked at the attached graphs today and it gave me a renewed hope. Dawn is almost here! Keep the hope alive! 10 Likes

Ola2j: So in essence, one should just strive to greatly exceed the POF requirements to avoid unnecessary panic concerning RR. Where can one find this their quarterly exchange rate they use? I've been searching to no avail. 2 Likes |
