Well well.....that took only 2 days. The supposed smart political move by McConnell has fallen flat on its face. Dayo should come and tell us again how this move was any politically savvy.

They say the aim of the so-called smart move was to unify the 'factions' to bring about the numbers required to win elections. Well Trump just declared all-out war on the leader of the GOP. What now?

As a moderate, I see all the time the far left is always far more reasonable than the far right. The far right are fascists who posses no capacity to negotiate. Once left to germinate, they consume everything in their path that refuses to conform.....and if necessary with force, without care of the price paid. I thought the most important lesson of WWII was that you don't try to negotiate with them either.

The GOP have for years pandered to the far right all in the name of numbers. But when they joined forces with Trump, again, all in the name of numbers, they allowed fascism to germinate ...except this time only they didn't see the germination. Now they grown a full-blown forest tree in their living room, and as fascists don't negotiate, they are all about to be consumed.

I mentioned that the GOP had one last chance to expunge this guy for good and they completely bottled it.

He should have stood on the part of the Truth and voted to convict Trump..If he had,most senators too will join because he is the highest ranking GOP in the senate.. If he had,millions of Republicans who voted for Joe Biden will come back to the Republican party. I mean not only Democrats voted Joe, Millions of Republicans voted for him because they do not like how their country and party was going so they needed to send the idiot out and get their country back.

In an election always 55-45 for the winning side, how do you statistically lose 20% and still remain viable?

Basically, to win, McConnel and Republicans will be hoping not only for center Republican but to take a huge bite of Democrat voting population to be viable. That can only happen if Democrats present an extreme leftist like Bernie, AOC to face a centrist like Bush/Haley

I agree with this. The Qanons, Racists, and other deplorables are minority voting blocks and would still vote Republican. They would rather vote Republican even if it's against their interest. They vote based on hate and nothing else. The result of the last election proved just that. They would get maybe 5 to 7 representatives into federal offices and that's about it. It's either they sit at home or vote. And when they vote, it would be for the conservative Republican candidate. Why a far right loving Trump still has a strong hold on the party is beyond me.
