That is because turbines in Texas aren't built to withstand unusually cold temperatures, as are turbines in colder climates where wind production is used.
In Saskatchewan, we have had -54 c several times in February already and there are zero frozen wind turbines. Texas only went to about -10c and things are shutting down. Lol.

Texas leaders failed to heed warnings that left the state's power grid vulnerable to winter extremes. Incompetent leaders are the problem.

Annoyingly, my province is sending electrical power down to some southern states in the US because of the unusual freeze. Most of the states are those stupid red states.
Good thing I saw this before I replied him. This level of dishonesty/disingenuousness is frankly disgusting.
Ask him what percentage of Texas that's being powered by Wind Turbines and he'll keep quiet.

Salford, I mentioned in passing that fossil fueled helicopters are being used to spray chemicals on wind turbines.

Ah yes. Have you ever read about the transition from horses to cars in the early to mid 20th century

it's a good read, please help your brain and feed it with reading about it.

it might take the next 40 years, but it's inevitable, renewable energy would take over everywhere, good luck racing against time.

Wasting your time on those nitwits. They are living on a long thing if they think "renewables" will replace God-given, easily tapped and naturally occurring energy in hydrocarbons. I don't want to go into endless debates with crazy people on the subject. Time will tell who is right. I just hope it won't be too late and Xibiden Quid Pro Joe, at his old age, won't destroy the country.

Foxnews started one of the Limbaugh coverage stories like this :
"After a yearlong battle with lung cancer..."
Now, a fight-like-hell Leftard would have rendered that line as follows :
"After a year of mounting insurrection against cancer".

May he rest in peace.

LOL! Leftards are lost bro!

This reminded me of the RNC where all they talked about was doom (prophets of doom) if the Democrats get elected. The Democrats didn't just get elected to WhiteHouse, they also kept their hold on the Congress. The Senate was an added bonus. America is still standing. There was no doom during Obama or Clinton era. There is only going to be prosperity in Biden's era too.

Why was fossil fuel not being used to power gas and diesel turbines to generate electricity for a state that produces close to half of all crude production in the US?

So one must be fully left wing or extreme right wing? See why we call you a fool? Two extremes don't make a country, they are cause for civil conflict and one side dominating the other. Nation building only works with negotiation. You are too old to be this foolish.

In the 1920s some idiots like you didn't want to move away from horses, claiming that it was God-given animals and no man-made machine can take their place, where did that end? nowhere. Debating with you about this is being foolish. When automobiles came it was considered clean technology because it didn't litter everywhere with shit like horses, now the world is moving to something cleaner

Many of you love racing against time, please kindly stop using phones and use ravens, pigeons and letters since an iPhone isn't a God given device but, ravens are God given. And please throw away your car and start trekking

They are nice people. When I lived in a very small community. They would often come into the library and offer cookies or bread to me. Very few blacks in the town so we were a thing to them whenever they come into town and see us. We also buy hard chickens from them. They bring it to offices in town to sell for very cheap. One dollar for a whole chicken grin.

I love their Banana bread. Once I bought it from them at the farmers market. I also bought a knife like tongue scraper - very good stuff!
I will like to rent and live in their village for that summer breeze. Their foodstuffs are super natural cheesy
