Just have plenty money. Use black market rates to estimate. Then pay. If any remains, it’s in your account.

But the host is not single if they are married, so why lie?

Yes you may not be caught unless your visa requires that documentation to prove that the couple live together, but why lie? How much is it that you want to save by lying?

I ended my response by saying that it is a matter of choice... This is a technicality issue not a direct lie; in the same way as tax evasion is not the same way tax avoidance...

No recourse to public funds or assistance is almost declaring the person as not the same as other citizens - it is their choice to use such language.

If you're asked about the occupancy of your home and you choose single occupancy when you're not the only one living there, IT IS A LIE. A direct one.

It can’t. Unless you want to provide the services as a freelancer under the books.. but if they catch you, don’t call my name.

Someone has a visa that is due to expire in August and the passport will expire in July. If the passport is renewed, is there any need to get a revalidation of the visa form the UK high commission?
The plan is to renew the passport in the coming weeks.

No, you basically have to be traveling with two passports until the visa expires

In Nigeria to get such letter can be a nightmare but you have to visit your school and speak to the registry or any admin staff, without paying extra on top of their usual fees for such letter you may never get it on time.

Yes there’s a job market. It’s a big one because Software compares need UXDs or interactive Designers.

But getting a part time job to meet your 20 hours may not be easy, however it’s doable. An easy way to build your portfolio is to freelance on fiverr. My worry is how you’ll declare your work hours to hmrc which is why working as a freelancer while a student is messy.

No, just submit the new passport. I don’t even know what revalidation means, but you don’t need that. You’ll be asked to upload your passport and then you include the old one if you like.

When I returned to the UK with my new passport that had a different name from my visa, they didn’t even ask me for my old one. Dunno why, maybe oversight. But you’re right, it’s safe to travel with the two.

You have nothing to lose by having both your names on council tax bill. It means you are both liable for it. It can be used for proof that you both stay together to support other documents.

tushqueen:
Please I need some enlightenment regarding council tax.

I used to think it's paid as part of a household's utility bill. I'm being made to understand that its nice for each person to pay if husband n wife are both employed so that their immigration status can be interdependent on each other. Thus if one person gets frustrated with his job, their immigration status is retained/stable.

I don't seem to understand this

Yes, apply for 10year validity booklet if you're able to.

NIN is now mandatory...

Can you renew what? The visa or the passport?

Visa? You’re free to. It’s your money.

Passport? My dear, valid passport is hard to find these days, just renew and save yourself the headache. Still your choice anyway.
