If my instinct is right, he will win and join APC as a sitting governor. So that he can stand for 2023 presidency, especially if there's signal APC will zone their ticket to the south East.

Reason he is not contesting under APC now is that APGA as a party is better positioned to win election in the state than APC. So win with APGA and move to APC.

Any Governor in Anambra that joins APC will not return for second tenure. APC is Anathema in Anambra just like Islam.

Soludo will be a good candidate. My only reservation is that he may reduce governance to academic exercise--quick to deliver sterling lectures but no implementations to back up the theories. I pray he proves me wrong when he wins. I side-eye the Ph.D Governor of Abia State.

You are right 2023 is around the corner. But, as a sitting governor, he will be more popular and have better resources to face party primaries. 2 years as a sitting governor would give him a quantum mileage that he will never have outside the corridors of power. I just wish him and others in APGA will reason that way so as to achieve a bigger picture. He has the credentials to reposition this country as a president.

As for those who have been governors waiting for him, my brother, it doesn't work that way. It took Atiku few months to move to PDP, Wike and many sitting governors tried, but they couldn't stop him from winning their ticket.

And soludo will definitely be the most popular candidate APC can present among other members of the party from South East if he takes that option. And to the general public, he has such appeal to win based on what the country needs as president henceforth.

They should give this man a chance. With so much talent and experience I cannot see anything but benefits to Anambra as a state and Nigeria in general.

We have had enough politicians in charge to last ten lifetimes with absolutely zero benefits. Let us give practical technocrats a day in the sun.
