I don't think its a problem.

You can change your interview date once after the first schedule you make.

This was in abuja. we kept looking for dates and did not see. The ones we were seeing last week was for Sept. 2021 and suddenly i opened the portal today and it was there. 4 slots waiting and i picked the 11:30

I have scheduled an appointment since December 2020 for my parents interview. I got an email last week that their appointment for April 2021 in Abuja was canceled. Does anyone know what is going on?

They cancelled all March and April appointments. However, you can reschedule for them.

As for the conference, i'll advice you look for another reason to travel.... all events globally have gone virtual right now and im sure this your conference is also virtual. Your first time of travelling should have a very good reason for travel .... my own thoughts...

Thank you for your response, i appreciate your advice and i gave a thought to it too but there is one day field trip so i felt that will be a good reason for not going virtual, your advise will be appreciated.

Guys I have a small problem, I'm working on a particular U.S visa application and the surname is three (3) letters, anytime I fill the first page of ds160 it keep logging me out, do I use the first name which is more than 3 letters or what can I do?

I also got the email, however, i have repeatedly logged into my profile, i see that the appointment still active. I can only CANCEL or RESCHEDULE to another date from the current appointment hold date of March.

Others said their appointments were automatically removed from their profile when they logged into to check.

I plan to goto the embassy to attend the appointment for interview on that date since it is still showing on my profile page as active.

Even live events of 500 indoors are available.

Texas has even gone rogue and opened 100%

I am an EDM enthusiast and festival dates are popping up a lot for several festivals in Florida, Las Vegas, Austin, Atlanta, California, Illinois, etc.
Those planning to travel for vacations can start fixing up summer periods.

I don't have info on conferences, but I am sure they will start announcing soon.

Then we wait on US Embassy in NG to also announce the full resumption of interview appointments.

If you created a profile and only applied for yourself alone then my brother you either go for the interview or cancel it... you cannot transfer your appointment date to someone else... its not an event ticket..... but if you applied for yourself and your wife on that profile but you cant go.. your wife can still go... you just have to apply again for yourself....

Yes you can get a visa. Your school is a good home tie. It is important that the VO understands that you are in a solid school program that you cannot leave. e.g. you're in your final year of high school or college (say engineering program at UI for example) and it would make zero sense for you to stay back in the US. If you simply say you're a student without explaining in detail, you will be denied. Be clear, and confident.
