Nigerians In USA, Do You Save More Than N15 Million Yearly? by MrGoood: 10:07am On Mar 07, 2021 |
I am a businessman and the thing is I am in for money in any choice I make. I made around 22 million in savings last year. Though I cut family and girlfriends off my life to achieve that and am in Nigeria. But seeing the doings of people outside The country, there was an America based lady that spent over 12 million naira on her mother's burial. For her to spend that much I believe she will have 20x of that amount. At least for an upright thinking fellow, I feel like am making less so am thinking of relocating. Can I make over 22 million yearly in savings in USA, If no how much can I save? Talk from your personal experience pls, Let stop deceiving each other pls, How much did you save annually in USA? Please let be sincere. 67 Likes 7 Shares |

An average Nigerian in US don’t save 5m yearly. All these people on the comment section don’t know how US or Europe works, you may die while working, you will age faster than your younger brother in Nigeria, you will likely fall sick by tomuch work overload. At the end of every year you will realise that you did not save up to 4m. Here you can’t escape tax, you ca never escape it. You will work for the government till you die, be wise. 247 Likes 16 Shares |

Depends what you do in America. If you work for somebody or company, I don't care if you are a doctor, engineer or lawyer, or mere warehouse worker, your income will be limited by tax even if you live frugally because you have no control of your taxes and you will shed almost 50% in taxes if you make more across taxes (federal, state, property and estate). Lets say you make $150k, government collect almost $75k in taxes across. You are left with $75k, after your house, car, emergency and personal expenses, you re left with $10-20k in the bank every yr. You can live a comfortable life but you will never be wealthy! Now, if you own your own business, not mom and pop kiosk, I mean real business over $500k in revenue, you will have more control of your taxes. Once you understand how America works, which most Nigerians or black immigrants never understand anyways...just living the American dream blindly( big house and nice cars) and fatally in debt, you will know that America rewards business owners and entrepreneurs. Most Asian immigrants understand this which is why they own their own business and don't work for people! Any Nigerian you know that is very very wealthy in America, has his/her own big business. These are not small boys and girls, they have over 5 employees (that's over $200k/90million in payroll a year assuming $45k each employee a yr), business location cost $500k-$5million. They rarely pay taxes because their business give them that advantage. Go and read why and how the rich in America pay zero to no taxes...actually government doesn't want you to if you create job, invest or an entrepreneur! 519 Likes 52 Shares |

golddust6000: The first question you have to ask is, does the person have a legit permit to work in the US? If you do, you will have a good job and saying they cannot save up to 5m (about $11k) yearly is an insult to them. @kovic20, how taxes work in the US depends on the government in power. A certain government may decide to tax the rich more and reduce the tax for the middle class. All they need is for the Congress to pass the bill. BTW, everyone pays taxes, including owners of blue-chip companies. @MrGoood, you are already doing so well in your country. What's the essence of leaving a country that pays you well? You can go on vacation to those countries and return to your base. Meanwhile, I would like to know the kinda business you do. As long as it's legit, I am game. 106 Likes 3 Shares |

MrGoood: I am not surprised because I have a sibling in Texas. Being able to save money is an individual thing. Some people work multiple jobs to have reasonable savings. BTW, you skipped the last paragraph. 37 Likes 1 Share |

MrGoood: See your mouth like 22 mil. When you have no ability to immigrate like others you end up talking down on them. Leave people that want to travel out to do so. If Nigeria is paying you that much, why are you so concerned about what the immigrant is earning? Is it a dck measuring contest? I even thought i will see a sensible thread. 220 Likes 15 Shares |

SmartPolician:I am not arguing about rent being different in different states and cities, the thing is,if you are a Nigerian and you are hoping to secure a stable job in U.S,you have to move to place like Dallas, Huston, Saint Thomas, or the sate of California, all of which have an expensive rental and homeless problem. So since you are saying rent are less than 1k per month, please point out a city in U.S were rent is less than 1k in an area that is not a project. 29 Likes 2 Shares |

SmartPolician: Not how taxes work in America. People like you belong to the category of black immigrants I stated don't understand how America works and don't want to learn. Any government in power can only increase or decrease income tax by 1-10% based on historical cuts. In practical sense only applies to employees, not the wealthy or business owners, as they have more control of their taxes. The wealthy rarely pay taxes and I won't explain further. MrGoood:Don't even think of leaving, the U.S is not what you think it is.Try investing your money in real- estate in Abuja or Lagos.Buy enough houses, in 10 to 15year,you will have enough to live comfortably. But if you decide to move to U.S,make sure you become a business owner,Africa food is a big think and U.S is design for business owners not for workers. 52 Likes 3 Shares |
