PDJT: He did say he was a businessman. If he's an igbo man too you better believe 22 million a year story. That's the type that imports everything from electronics and cars to sell at sky-high prices here. And yet they got them for free from UK, EU and Chinese junk yards. 4 Likes |

Is 401k, IRAs etc included in your savings calculations? Also, you work legally in America you automatically accrue social security benefits and each year they will send you a statement of how much you will get from SSA monthly if you retire today. That's savings too - you still get it even if you relocate 1 Like |

quickly: Go back again and read. He claimed you will pay 50% on 150k salary. If you are paying 50% on 150k, then you should be paying 80% on 600k salary. I won’t be talking much except ofcourse you can share your experience living in the US. 21million naira is just around $45k Modified: If you are doing side business, you only pay tax on your net income after deducting expenses. You only pay tax if your side business takes you up to the next tax bracket. You don’t have to pay extra 1 Like |

PDJT: You are right on point. The advantages are quite enormous. You don’t have to struggle for a whole lot before doing things by yourself. Like I said, it’s an individual thing. I have a school mate that left Shlum BJ for Canada just of recent. Don’t be deceived, we pay a lot of bills here and we are not really concerned with how much our net savings are. I can’t speak for the big boys though. You pay for mortgage, insurance, sewage, cable, water, BGE, HOA, gas and everything you can think of. But in all, even though I religiously pay all my bills, it’s far better a million times that living in Nigeria (my personal opinion) 10 Likes 1 Share |

MrGoood: That assumption in bold is cataclysmic at best. The idea of gauging a persons net worth from how they spend has proven a disastrous one over ages. By the way, That 22m saved would have been like N9m if not for Buhari's economics. |

Not just in America even in Europe, most Nigerians suffer in America and Europe to be able to come back to Nigeria for one month with their stupid poverty mentality to impress Nigerians back home, and nigerians back ignorantly observing this set of Nigerians spending money anyhow, they would start developing the idea to go there too MrGoood: 1 Like |

Health insurance does not work that way. The theory of health insurance is pulling resources from lots of people to help few people who are ill. For example, my daughter's birth 2 years ago cost $30k due to surgery and I did not get a single cent as bills. My wife and I have good insurance and they take care of the bills. I know of someone who had Covid bad. Stayed in hospital for over 2 months, was on ventilator and almost died. His bill was almost 2 million dollara and medicare took care of it without sending him a bill. MrGoood: 4 Likes |

Depends what you do in America. If you work for somebody or company, I don't care if you are a doctor, engineer or lawyer, or mere warehouse worker, your income will be limited by tax even if you live frugally because you have no control of your taxes and you will shed almost 50% in taxes if you make more across taxes (federal, state, property and estate). Lets say you make $150k, government collect almost $75k in taxes across. You are left with $75k, after your house, car, emergency and personal expenses, you re left with $10-20k in the bank every yr. You can live a comfortable life but you will never be wealthy! All what this guy wrote here are things he knows nothing about. Which government takes 50% of income as tax? Lol. I work in the US and I have family and friends in every major industry. Nobody, I repeat nobody pays 50% as tax on income. Not even close! 3 Likes |

MrGoood: There are a couple of things in the US that are very deceiving, 1-Credit cards 2-Taxes 3-Education/Student Loans With the above 3 points, it is literally impossible to make that kind of savings except 1. You do not use Credit cards 2. You own your own business and do not get regular salary taxes 3. You did not school in the US |

MrGoood: MrGoood, let me clear my throat with well. I’ll start by congratulating you for your resilience and business as well as your discipline in saving around N15m in a harsh and unfriendly business environment like Nigeria. You’ve done this with the temptations of vagina people in Nigeria and the distractions and ‘entitlements’ of some friends and family member. You’ve done well.... However, you created this thread because ‘one lady’ who live in the US spent about N12m in some burial !!! Bro, stop calculating people’s spendings like EFCC or the IRS... this is wrong...verrrrry wrong. God has blessed you and you are making more money than lots of people whether in Nigeria or in some well paid jobs abroad and you are thinking of relocating to make more...nothing wrong with that...but you’ve been prompted by some lady who spent about N12m in burying a family member!! I have a feeling that you are Igbo like me so I’ll say this.... Nwokem kpachapu anya, fie asaa na anya... Ebe Onye no, ebe onoghi ana agu ya. Ekwekwana ka ya bu aka enwe baa na ofe. Ignore if you are not Igbo. This is not the spirit of hustling or ambition pushing you, this is GREED. 16 Likes |

MrGoood: Guy to save 22m in Nigeria in Nigeria within a year you're doing well for yourself. Please desist from using others open display of achievement to judge your achievement. The lady you are using as a yardstick you don't know what she does to make money, most of the money could be gift from well wishers to support her for her mums burial 2 Likes |
