It depends on your responsibilities. Imagine a family with 3-5 kids, maybe 2 parents living with them. If husband and wife have good jobs and they have someone helping with the kids, they can achieve a lot. Education is very important. Some people achieve a lot at the expense of their mental health. They have no time for some relaxing activities like work out, parties, Church, Mosque, vacation, etc. People need to work and enjoy not work and die. 3 Likes |

Nobody ask for explanation, you started the smoke !!! Now trying to sell one damn vedio. all na scam quote author=MrGoood post=99689166] I can boost of three business and I always make Enquiry to invests more, I work with budget and budget is different from total income , You can have 50 business partners but your income is just one single record so use your sense, I run a factory in abk and i manufacture but I won’t say what I produce, If I want to relocate today I will save the money separately and won’t tamper with what I already have so be reasonable, You expect me to put big money in a new business, if a business can’t do well with 500,000 it can never do well with 50 million , Even oil, Yes quote me anywhere , If you want too save you have to forget about you touching your savings and spread your incomes then work with it . Example if you have 4 ways of making money , you will sacrifice one income as tools to grow , you don’t tamper with all your investment, one is good to know how far and if it’s bad you can easily move on without feeling heat , Note: I got the business plan that give me major income here on Nairaland and the video is still on Nairaland untouched and the poster is not aware someone was motivated by the video , Stay safe.[/quote] |

ttoyetade: And can you compare someone doing well in Nigeria to someone doing well in the US Let's stop deceiving ourselves The kind of money you make here if you know your way around You can't dream of it in the US I have relatives in the US, that have lives there for decades, these are professionals, but still they can't match the achievement's of those in Nigeria. Likewise Canada, even UK too Abroad is not easy and it all depends on what you want in life. If you want to just live a mediocre, just get there life, then you can relocate over there But if you want to live a life of impacting and touching plenty of lives, then it's more achievable here. There are guys in Nigeria here making millions of dollars in annual turnover and nobody in the US can compare to them See Nigeria is a nation of over 200 million people. This population has to feed, live etc and if you can produce goods and services that can touch even 1% of Nigerian population, you are and have the ability to even touch more lives But it all depends on what you can see around you, and the ability to use your brain to think and create wealth The major problem with many Africans is that they just think only about there feeding there stomach, so they just live a very mediocre life. And there are so much more money to be made, so much, but it depends on what you see. Indians, Chinese, Lebanese are cashing out big time here in Nigeria but Nigerians will feel that it's only when they go abroad they succeed Nigerian population is increasing More opportunities are available There are richer Nigerians here than there are abroad. I mean legitimate hard work Not everyone is involved in crime I even believe crime will stunt ones ability Even most of these scammers we have here no e even get money They are just noise makers Those making money are not even loud 9 Likes 1 Share |

Depends what you do in America. If you work for somebody or company, I don't care if you are a doctor, engineer or lawyer, or mere warehouse worker, your income will be limited by tax even if you live frugally because you have no control of your taxes and you will shed almost 50% in taxes if you make more across taxes (federal, state, property and estate). Lets say you make $150k, government collect almost $75k in taxes across. You are left with $75k, after your house, car, emergency and personal expenses, you re left with $10-20k in the bank every yr. You can live a comfortable life but you will never be wealthy! True . This can also be applied to global economics. Essentially how wealth is created. |

Jaqenhghar: Exactly! Nigeria has existed for an unusually long period of time in a situation of lack, want, drought, desperation, need. Our default mode is to hoard, scrimp, self deny, save; all for the rainy day which is basically everyday. We have to hoard not only for ourselves but for the next generation and that thereafter. The western mentality is to live life to the fullest knowing that you only have one life to live. The average life expectancy for a man in Nigeria is 54 years. In that time, he has probably really lived for only 5 years and merely existed for the remainder. Money is merely a tool, a means to an end. Hoarding it makes no sense to a western mind when you are in need and lack basic things of life. A westerner is confident of tomorrow beacause their government looks out for their citizens, does not act foolishly and does not destroy value. The fellow saving 22 million does not know that the business he is doing today can be gone tomorrow with the enactment of yet another silly government edict. Go ask the founder of Gokada who inevested millions of dollars in Okada delivery business that was destroyed by the same government that supported and helped him launch it, all within the space of a few months. 6 Likes |

overseasnbeyond: You are missing the point completely. People are talking about saving 15 million a year. That is insane. The financial rule of thumb is to to have 3 to 6 months of your income in a savings account and the rest in your retirement fund so that your money grows intardem with inflation. When I was in Nigeria a crate of eggs was 3 naira. How much is it today? Do you get it now? |

Change your mindset! If this was how Dangote envisage his adventure when he started some years back, he won't be where he is now. In life one need to work hard, pray hard and get to be smart. No one road leads to success. You choose your interest and dream large. No one great will come out and tell you what exactly he did to become great. He can only give you insights. I huge you to read more on the parable of the sower. You cast your seeds and hope for the best. Nothing is too sure in life. If you have your American dream of being the next Elon musk, trust me you can achieve it... it is a thing of the mind. I have learnt that 1+1 does not always equal to 2 in the journey of life.
