The mountain (that is Kilimanjaro) was originally located in apart of British East Africa which is now Kenya. However the mountain was given by Queen Victoria of England as a gift to her cousin, and so the border was moved and the mountain included within German Tanganyika."

Some other concideration for that matter was that Kenya already had Mt kenya which made the queen or rather the Berlin conference which took part in forming the boarder line between the two countries concider giving it to the Germanies as part of agreement.

Other concideration was that some communities which majority came from Tanzanians "chagga" community to be precise, had already settled in that mountain and they couldn't be Kenyans in any way, so that also influenced the British to share the mountain as "part of changaa" community concideration.

The last but not least is that the coastal kenya was so much taken into consideration concidering the fact that Tz was already the home for a vast coastline, so in exchange for coastal line, they had to give out the mountain.

Although, all the principles applied under one rule; the mountain should be in such a position where a kenyan or Tanzanian can view. That was one mutual agreement that generated peace up to date., we enjoy the mountain view as if though the mountain is in Kenya.
