Dangote used to be my role model till I studied deep into his business ....baba knows almost nothing about business ...just believe in controlling government to his favor

Most of his real business with competition failed

Sugar ? He was sacked by the new owners
Noodles ? We all know
Pasta ? Flop
Tomatoes ? Flop

Rifinary is the most difficult business to run , so that's why he inflated the project cost by over 100 percent , CBN sold him dollar at almost 70% less than market price ( in the real sense Nigeria contributed 50% of the rifenery project ) ....the real money is in petrochemical .... would Nigeria kill eleme petrochemical for dangote ? Let's watch and see
Controlling the government??
I think he's partnering with the oppressive government.
The economy is doomed because the government is corrupt and wicked.
The government ensures that the difference between the rich and the poor is extremely huge.

the fact remains, they are not untouchable, I can scour the internet and provide you with many cases on this, I do researches all day long, I am still not certain over the course of years Dangote and other high powered individuals and companies within African if anyone has had the idea or the thought of suing over the death traps they put on the road as motor vehicles (in reference to Dangote trucks)

In reality, the real big difference between us(average African) and them (average American) is that they are meant to believe they have a choice and hence freedom but when last did a black man feels he has been a choice, definitely not after 1960 or even before to be objective.

Dangote has turned himself to a very sadistic capitalist.

Man is ready to impoverish the whole of Nigeria if it will give him more money.

Just like Bill Gates that is ready to infect the world with a deadly virus so he can sell vaccine.

BUA CEO was accusing him the other day of being the reason that cement is still expensive in the country. He wouldn't allow govt throw the sector open to numerous investors.

Now he's building refinery and he is already suggesting that only those with refinery license should be allowed to import fuel so that he can tighten the sector and sell a litre at #500.

The next Southern president should stop that man. Especially the cement industry. It should be thrown open to all interested investors.

You know nothing about Bill Gates. He's the kindest rich person I've ever known. He has such a good heart. Maybe rich people should continue being stingy so that they won't have to deal with this ignorance from people like you.

In fact, because of people like you, I've decided to never ever help the uneducated. Imagine. Bill has gone through so much stress to improve the lives of people in developing nations, spending billions of dollars yearly, yet they accuse him of somehow causing a pandemic. Some even send him death threats! Unbelievable!

It is not true

Dangote businesses are not harmful to Nigeria. He is creating jobs, producing quality products and contributing to national GDP.

Maybe harmful to US interests because some of the stuffs he produces can't be imported into Nigeria but why should Nigeria care about that?

Everyone should care about their own country first according to a certain Donald Trump
he is creating jobs by closing down people's factories

I don't know where this is coming from and how it relates to the topic, but you need to know a few facts about Bill Gates jnr.

You see, the Bill and Melinda Foundation is the world's second biggest donor foundation, coming after Danish non-profit Novo Nordisk Foundation.

No living human being has used his hard-earned money to fight diseases around the world like Bill Gates. As a matter of fact, Bill Gates is the world's greatest donor of all time.

What Bill Gates donates to UN and WHO, if you sum up all the donations from several African countries, it doesn't get close to his.

So, just before anyone says that Bill Gates is trying to kill them, just keep in mind that the old man has used his hard-earned money to fight diseases around the world more than most governments.

Thank you!!! It's so nice to see this. I'm so tired of people accusing Bill of ridiculous things. Imagine, the very same people he has worked so hard for. Some of them even send him death threats. Really sad!

How can any sane Nigerian condemn a project that will create thousands of jobs, end importation of petroleum products and boost our currency to mention a few. How?

They're just intimidated by Dangotes rising profile, especially his upcoming massive mega refinery which is giving them jitters because it is owned by the Hausa Fulani they love to hate and derogate. We see beyond the spurious facade.

Same US that cannot curb Jeff Bezos and Walton family

Gibberish, bunkum and balderdash.

Same America where 1% call shots for 99%

Next topic please!

Your remarks show two things. 1. You do not understand the American business model. America practices an open market system that was why a Jeff bezos could start from the bottom and grow a business that challenges the likes of Walmart and target.
Facebook could take over from MySpace and yahoo. They practice true competition. Today if a startup comes with another disruptive technology, it would take over from existing Market leaders just like tesla is doing in the auto industry. 10 years ago tesla was bearly known but the American system is such that you are rewarded by innovation. The most innovative 1% reap the most benefits. It's open to anyone one that is innovative.
2. Your second mistake was your failure to see the downwards direction that your country is going.
Nigeria has some of the worst policies that destroy competition. Imagine, you need a license from government to import petrol.how do we expect fuel to be cheap when only a few can import.
Dangote is one of the biggest cement producers in the world yet the price of cement continues to go up. A bag of cement is less than N700 in china. Your country that does not practice antitrust laws.
Please do compare Nigeria to the USA. It's as different as night from day. One is a country that thrives on innovation and giving a chance to anyone ready to take it and the other is a theater of corruption while the government and a few are against the citizens that is why one is the richest country in the world and the other has over 90 million people living below the poverty line

Are you aware that there are over 20 refinery licenses issued and 4 currently being built or have you been living under a rock? So where is the monopoly?

You guys are even too blinded by mindless bigotry to see that Dangote's action will even encourage other investors to come in because they will be sure their investment is safe from unscrupulous unlicensed businessmen that would import low quality fuel and sell for cheap. With this move only licensed refinery owners will be able to import whenever necessary. Go and read Dangote's proposal and digest it instead of allowing yourself to be so horribly misled by this spurious 2010 wikileaks publication.

Barely two weeks ago, the conglomerate proposed a provision in the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) seeking to ban the importation of oil by companies without refining licences, which according to the company, will help spur investments in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The group proposed that only companies with licences to refine crude oil should import fuel whenever demand surpass available fuel or when a refinery is undergoing maintenance.

You guys should try to start thinking independently instead of jumping on any bandwagon without deep, individual thinking.
