Penguin2: You know nothing about Bill Gates. He's the kindest rich person I've ever known. He has such a good heart. Maybe rich people should continue being stingy so that they won't have to deal with this ignorance from people like you. In fact, because of people like you, I've decided to never ever help the uneducated. Imagine. Bill has gone through so much stress to improve the lives of people in developing nations, spending billions of dollars yearly, yet they accuse him of somehow causing a pandemic. Some even send him death threats! Unbelievable! 1 Like 1 Share |

Are the Major oil companies not doing greater arm to Nigeria compared to Dangote. Dude blame your govt for policy guideline n failure leave Dangote. A govt that is limiting Innoson n granting excesses to Dangote should tell where the blames lies. The FG from Obasanjo to Buhari knows the right but are all willing to trade Nigeria to pls Dangote Penguin2: |

QuotasSystem:Guy you don't understand the dangers of monopolization, if other companies have the chance to spring up and start refineries won't there be more jobs? So if your dangote decides to let off a lot of people in the face of situations like this covid horseshit where would the jobs go to, this is why africa will remain backward; lack of foresight, if you can't see this you are either a sycophant or a blind person. 1 Like |

HacheNoire:Your remarks show two things. 1. You do not understand the American business model. America practices an open market system that was why a Jeff bezos could start from the bottom and grow a business that challenges the likes of Walmart and target. Facebook could take over from MySpace and yahoo. They practice true competition. Today if a startup comes with another disruptive technology, it would take over from existing Market leaders just like tesla is doing in the auto industry. 10 years ago tesla was bearly known but the American system is such that you are rewarded by innovation. The most innovative 1% reap the most benefits. It's open to anyone one that is innovative. 2. Your second mistake was your failure to see the downwards direction that your country is going. Nigeria has some of the worst policies that destroy competition. Imagine, you need a license from government to import petrol.how do we expect fuel to be cheap when only a few can import. Dangote is one of the biggest cement producers in the world yet the price of cement continues to go up. A bag of cement is less than N700 in china. Your country that does not practice antitrust laws. Please do compare Nigeria to the USA. It's as different as night from day. One is a country that thrives on innovation and giving a chance to anyone ready to take it and the other is a theater of corruption while the government and a few are against the citizens that is why one is the richest country in the world and the other has over 90 million people living below the poverty line 1 Like 2 Shares |

SegFault: Are you aware that there are over 20 refinery licenses issued and 4 currently being built or have you been living under a rock? So where is the monopoly? You guys are even too blinded by mindless bigotry to see that Dangote's action will even encourage other investors to come in because they will be sure their investment is safe from unscrupulous unlicensed businessmen that would import low quality fuel and sell for cheap. With this move only licensed refinery owners will be able to import whenever necessary. Go and read Dangote's proposal and digest it instead of allowing yourself to be so horribly misled by this spurious 2010 wikileaks publication. Barely two weeks ago, the conglomerate proposed a provision in the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) seeking to ban the importation of oil by companies without refining licences, which according to the company, will help spur investments in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry. You guys should try to start thinking independently instead of jumping on any bandwagon without deep, individual thinking. 2 Likes |

QuotasSystem:Yeah, dangote that will run to the government to push some stupid policy to cause his business to become like a monopoly do your research on why cement is so damn expensive, a monopoly can also be achieved through bullying, just wait and see the drama that ensues after those refineries are built. |
