Dangote has turned himself to a very sadistic capitalist.

Man is ready to impoverish the whole of Nigeria if it will give him more money.

Just like Bill Gates that is ready to infect the world with a deadly virus so he can sell vaccine.

BUA CEO was accusing him the other day of being the reason that cement is still expensive in the country. He wouldn't allow govt throw the sector open to numerous investors.

Now he's building refinery and he is already suggesting that only those with refinery license should be allowed to import fuel so that he can tighten the sector and sell a litre at #500.

The next Southern president should stop that man. Especially the cement industry. It should be thrown open to all interested investors.

Yeah, dangote that will run to the government to push some stupid policy to cause his business to become like a monopoly do your research on why cement is so damn expensive, a monopoly can also be achieved through bullying, just wait and see the drama that ensues after those refineries are built.

You've ended up saying nothing. Stop pulling things from thin air and let us talk facts.

Where is the monopoly?

Barely two weeks ago, the conglomerate proposed a provision in the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) seeking to ban the importation of oil by companies without refining licences, which according to the company, will help spur investments in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

The group proposed that only companies with licences to refine crude oil should import fuel whenever demand surpass available fuel or when a refinery is undergoing maintenance.

QuotasSystem:

Are you aware that there are over 20 refinery licenses issued and 4 currently being built or have you been living under a rock? So where is the monopoly?

You guys are even too blinded by mindless bigotry to see that Dangote's action will even encourage other investors to come in because they will be sure their investment is safe from unscrupulous unlicensed businessmen that would import low quality fuel and sell for cheap. With this move only licensed refinery owners will be able to import whenever necessary. Go and read Dangote's proposal and digest it instead of allowing yourself to be so horribly misled by this spurious 2010 wikileaks publication.

Maybe harmful to US interests because some of the stuffs he produces can't be imported into Nigeria but why should Nigeria care about that?

Tomatoes ? Flop

Rifinary is the most difficult business to run , so that's why he inflated the project cost by over 100 percent , CBN sold him dollar at almost 70% less than market price ( in the real sense Nigeria contributed 50% of the rifenery project ) ....the real money is in petrochemical .... would Nigeria kill eleme petrochemical for dangote ? Difrent and hachenoir. React to this constructively. You can link this to Jeff bezoz since u claim they are related.

I'm also of the opinion Dangote has undue advantage over competition as alleged in the report. Not good for the economy. I wonder if another investor will get the kind of support the Nigeria govt is giving to his refinery via CBN. (Even when the Nigerian owned refineries are left to rot and new ones not in the cards.) He also got this in cement when some other investors were shut out. In tomatoes, he called for total ban of imports when he started production.

Everything mustn't be skewed for him to thrive.
do you have any sense?

Compaq and Godarz, check out this very insightful thread...on the dangote angle. It is almost as though they they carried on my conversation with you yesterday from where I left it.

Well the fact is

1. The info on dangote is from 2010. A lot has changed since 2010

2. Dangote probably wasn't the only businessman doing those things

3. Dangote doesnot run a monopoly either in cement (BUA and Lafarge ) or refineries ( 24 other licences, 5 of which are active including dangote and BUA. BUA has been comissioned).

4. Because of subsidy and price controls a lot more people haven't invested in refinereis because they would lose money refining fuel at subsidy prices

Dangote decides to go into fuel business instead of the other southerners to see the hand writing on the wall they were there shouting it's not possible it's not possible.

We have said this several times that Dangote's business success is not merely a result of hard work but a result of favoritism. Look at sugar, pasta, flour, cement and the rest of the basic needs, he controls the price and this is very bad! There was a time Dangote wanted to control rice and later tomato paste but thankfully it didn't work for too long. The Northerners are desperate to control food and other basic needs, that's why they will make the market so tight for a Southerner to fairly compete with their almighty Dangote undecided

The next protest will be end Dangote (the thief) monopoly and on that day I pray that heaven will help us to lay hands on him and stone him to death as he is part. of the reasons why Nigerians are suffering. soon he will start buying our crude oil in Naira only to refine it and tell us that the cost of procurement of spare parts from abroad for the maintenance of the refinery is high and as a result sell back fuel to us at a high price. DANGOTE IS A GRAND SON OF JUDAS IS CARIOT, WHO WAS A SERPENT SEED AND SON OF HELL. He is from SERPENT'S family explain why he is wicked.
