Who is Nkodo Akpainyang? The last time I checked in, he is a disgruntled native of Okon-Eket. Though he was my brother's classmate at Hope Waddell Secondary school, I never met him. He resides in Houston, surviving at the mercy of his wife.


Nkodo I've warned you to stop calling me, rubbishing AKISAN candidates who have volunteered to serve. I'm forced to open the Pandora box. Who made you a king maker? Lording over organizations? Be reminded here that, chauvinism has no place in this society and your political views and reasonings has no place in real times. I can only engage in constructive dialogue with like minds not noise makers. You sound irritating whenever you call, playing the busy body. It will be detrimental to those who are gullible and vulnerable to fall prey to your domineering personality. Your likes can never be team players because you boast of running organizations from outside, whether a member or not.
You can be described as a psychopath. Could this be related to the fact that your father committed murder? Although justice was served by convicting him of murder and sentencing him to prison, but the fact remains that he took away another human's life. Your brother was an armed robber, who was shot and later died mysteriously.


Final thought: Mr. Akpainyang, son of a murderer, you could be suffering from Post Traumatic Syndrome or the blood shed by your family is looming to hunt you? Why not seek help? Are you tired consulting with ritualists(native doctors)?

Stop Gary Foxcroft's Criminal Activities in Akwa Ibom State

I want to respectfully draw your attention to another smear campaign against the state and Nigeria as a whole that is about to be launched by a notorious Briton by name Gary Foxcroft. This man who hides under the pretext of doing charity work for children in Nigeria but weaves millions of pounds while blackmailing the state, the country and certain persons using some locals who are his unwilling assets and whom he dishes out peanuts to at the end of his sordid voyage.

I have also been made aware of the invasion of Akwa Ibom State by some espionage documentary filmmakers hired by Foxcroft, who went around paying some parents, centers to coerce children to make false and disparaging statements against certain persons of their target interest and indeed the state government to add flavour to their documentaries and sell in millions of pounds. They have done this before and are on it again; but this time round, it's on a frightening proportion.

The group works with some desperate, identifiable five individuals from Akwa Ibom and two from Calabar as guides and covert agents. These individuals should be investigated for their involvement in espionage activities and abetting the fraudulent mercenaries.
I can authoritatively state that about five weeks ago, Foxcroft accompanied these unpatriotic individuals to the Divine Children Center, Uyo where they bribed caretakers of the center to give them opportunity to interview those children, initially with secret cameras. Not minding that some of these children have grown up and don't need publicity stunts or being used anymore as pawns for egregious money machines. The center was later besieged by an espionage group again called Red Rebel or Red Label hired by Gary Foxcroft to continue the secret filming of the children. The Red Rebel or Red Label is headed by a lady who goes by the incognito Mags Gaven or sometimes Mags Graven.
What baffles any right thinking person is the easy access to the government center granted by the center operators to these charity scam artists who became nouveau riches overnight. There is need to overhaul the center and bring in patriotic individuals and persons who are not despicably desperate in the sight of these white con-men.

These white scam artists claim to support children and reverse superstitions as their primary goals which may look good on the surface, but for the past ten years, they are still doing the same job in Akwa Ibom State. How long are they going to continue with such machinations without scrupulous checks? A few questions to also ask here are: Do their unwholesome activities not have a planned duration or time-bound? Do they not have a goal setting in place? Must Akwa Ibom or Nigeria be their only place to run their nefarious activities and in perpetuity?

I am willing to give out the names of the dubious individuals who are colluding with these white con-men led by Gary Foxcroft. So far, I have been able to unearthed the names and addresses of three of them, known to be indigenes of Akwa Ibom State while the two from Calabar have also been identified with their names and addresses.

A British charity worker, Mr Gary James Foxcroft has been reportedly plotting a $2.5m fraud on Akwa Ibom State government in Nigeria with inside accomplices . A high ranking official working in the Ministry of Education divulged this to our reporter in a recorded phone conversation.
"Yes I can confirm to you that a senior government official is colluding with Mr Gary Foxcroft to commit a grand larceny and fraud with the hope of getting his own cut; and some documentations have been procured to that effect so that it will look genuine. They termed it 'Grant for training of teachers and children.' Right now, part of the fund will be committed to their hands in a week from now, the rest will be disbursed after three months," the official said
Under the aegis of a not-for-profit organization, Stepping Stones Nigeria (SSN), Mr. Froxcroft fronts his wife, Mrs Naomi Foxcroft to the volatile Niger Delta region only with one object: to swindle the Akwa Ibom State government of a whooping $2.5 million US Dollars.
Mrs. Foxcroft who uses her maiden name, Naomi Chapel under the cover and impression that Stepping Stones Nigeria (SSN) was now under a new leadership after it fell apart with Akwa Ibom state government in 2010; and that Mr. Foxcroft resigned from the organization since 2011. This gesture will be returned in kind by way launching a wide media praise singing once the money is shared
However, a volunteer with SSN in Lancaster, United Kingdom who spoke on account of anonymity revealed that Mr. Foxcroft only stepped aside temporarily to enable him fully develop his two new organizations, Witchcraft and Human Rights Information Network (WHRIN) and Universal Learning Solution (ULS), a borrowed plumes from Jolly Phonics in the UK, both equally based in Lancaster (with undisclosed addresses); and in order to douse tension that has greeted SSN over the N15 million bribe scandal that rocked the organization about two years ago.
"No, no, he did not resign from Stepping Stones Nigeria! He only took a sabbatical to relieve himself of the tension and to use that period to develop the two new organizations I just mentioned to you. Check on their website and Facebook pages I gave you, you'll see what I'm trying to say," the volunteer stated.
Checks confirmed that, apart from SSN which Naomi Foxcroft is now posing as the Acting Director, both Witchcraft and Human Right Information Network (WHRIN) and Universal Learning Solution (ULS) are both headed by Mr. Foxcroft.
Checks also reveal that Mr Foxcroft is also the head of Jolly Phonics Nigeria, one of the four Foxcroft-led organizations packaged in the said proposals to defraud Akwa Ibom government.
Though Foxcroft refused to respond to the various overtures including phone calls and emails for an interview, an SSN official said that they applied for grant from Akwa Ibom government and they were in the process of getting it.
"Listen, I don't know what you call scam or where do you get the version of your own story! We're registered charity and have the right to apply for funding from any organization," she fumed.
On why Foxcroft is no longer the spokesperson of the organization, she said.
"Whether it's Gary or not, it's under a charities and he's still part of SSN if that's your problem! Emily Secker is the new spokesperson and Naomi Foxcroft is the acting Head" she explained further.
In 2011, the Nigerian arm of the SSN, called Stepping Stones Nigeria Child Empowerment Foundation (SSNCEF) based in Eket, Akwa Ibom State won a $150,000 rising star award grant from Star Foundation, a UK charity foundation meant for 2012 year. But in a swift turn of events, Mr. Foxcroft reportedly pocketed $20,000 from the grant on what he called "one-off payment" for his role and effort to secure the grant.
This development did not go down well with Mr. Lucky-Imo Inyang, the founder and then Program Director of SSNCEF in Nigeria who vehemently challenged Foxcroft for the pocketing of such a staggering amount of money, which was never included in the proposals during application. Piqued by this affront, Foxcroft mobilized a few hands of the SSNCEF Trustees in Nigeria with financial inducement to compel Mr Inyang's resignation on a flimsy ground of what he called "incompetence and lack of qualification" to head such organization.
When Inyang refused to resign, Foxcroft was said to have bribed the Nigerian Mobile Police picked on the roadside to terrorize Inyang. In order to concentrate with his studies, in the University of Uyo and students union government election which he subsequently won as president, Inyang threw in the towel, and a certain Utibe Ikot whose father is a former secretary of Esit Eket Local Government Council was horridly drafted as Acting Program Director which gave Foxcroft an easy ride and leeway to pocket his controversial 'one-off payment' without question. But Ikot resigned and skidded to Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) when Foxcroft again accused him of what he called 'massive fraud and gross misconduct'
However, within a year of Inyan's exit, the SSNCEF suffered a setback and was closed down. A check on its office at #2 Clinic Road Extension, Eket shows that the place is now under locked and keyed with morse and rodents the only official inhabitants of the place. Yet the $150,000 grant from Star Foundation which remained unused was not returned to the grantor as charity law demands, as investigation has revealed.
A former SSNCEF staff, who merely gave his name as Effiong Umoh, told our reporter that Foxcroft who was the intermediary for collection and release of the fund kept 3/4 (which is 75%) of it, pending reports of the first quarter, before the final collapse of SSNCEF
"If he's not returned the unused fund to the donor, that means he's lining his pocket as usual with the children money, that's too bad... Even the children who're abandoned at Eket Stadium did not get a dime from it" the ex-SSNCEF staffer decried.
As the day closes by, the Briton by the name Mr Gary James Foxcroft and his co-accomplices in Akwa Ibom government employ, are waiting to smile their way to the bank using the name of charity work. This is no doubt, a grand charity racket!

- NUJ Members Insist He Must Go

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah has been accused by the state chapter of the Nigerian Nigerian Union of Journalist of using public fund for bribery and building formidable edifice across the state. Based on this his corrupt mien it was agreed that the group pass a vote of no confidence on Commissioner Umanah without further delay.
It was authoritatively gathered Mr Umanah summoned a meeting which was attended by the NUJ State Chairman Mr Joe Effiong and Emmanuel Efiong the Federated Chapel Chairman were at the meeting given large sums of money by the Commissioner who persuaded the duo to ensure that the vote of no confidence that was earlier scheduled to be passed on him were scuttled.

The Union of journalists is proposing a vote of no confidence on Mr Aniekan Umanah because of what the pen professionals call his “numerous atrocities” of defrauding the local media of their advert fees-collecting hundreds of thousands from government and paying only fifty thousand naira to them on full page advertorial. Mr Umana’s other crimes include being in the habit of collecting millions of naira from the State government, using the names of the NUJ and Federated Chapel without ever remitting any to those organisations.
The sins of Aniekan Umanah are so many that the Union members also complained about the sacking of his Special Assistant on media Mr Ndueso Essien as a clear evidence of victimization , that the accusation of the Commissioner laid against Ndueso shows that the commissioner is anti government in the government he works for. Aniekan Umanah has also been frustrating the State government Newspaper-The Pioneer Newspapers-a parastatal under his Ministry simply because the Governor had earlier rejected his (Umanah’s) candidate; so he is doing everything to humiliate the present General Manager in the person of Udo Silas who is not his tribe man.
With all these the Union wants the State Governor to remove Mr Aniekan Umanah from Office. But he, (Umanah) got the tip off rushed into bribing the duo with millions of Naira And when the rest of the members heard about the bribe inducement on their Executives, they are now boiling for war that the Commissioner of information must be removed from office, that he is a fraudster, not caring about the local media.
Mr Umanah is currently using the millions he has been collecting from the government on behalf of the Union in building three palatial houses simultaneously in Abak, Osongama and Shelter Afrigue extension in Mbiabong Etoi, after he had completed his mansions in Shelter Afrigue and Abuja. It is also known that Aniekan Umanah is nursing a House of Representatives ambition and has been spending a lot of money on his constituent who before now hated him with a passion.
Some of the correspondent chapel members also accused Mr Aniekan Umanah of owing their media houses millions of Naira without paying for years and anytime they go to him for their funds , he always molests them and uses his police security to throw them out of his office. And the NUJ members have sworn that should the duo of Joe Effiung and Emmanuel Effiong deviate from the earlier agreement of passing a vote of no confidence on the Commissioner they will sack their executives and petition the Commissioner before the EFCC , Code of Conduct Bureau, State Government and other relevant authorities.
In the meantime,journalists in Akwa Ibom State are challenging the state government to change its character towards reporters in order to be assured of effective coverage of state functions. The newsmen raised the motion, weekend at the end of an emergency meeting of the State Executive Council, SEC, of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council in which issues of welfare of members and promotion of effective practice in the state were considered.

Apparently piqued by what it considered as ugly acts of harassing and barring journalists from venues of state functions, the union threatened to stop further coverage of government functions if things do not change for the better. In a resolution signed by the 29 members of the SEC, the union recalled that during State Government/NLC stakeholders meeting, the Guild of Editors of Nigeria’s Conference and lately during the President’s visit, journalists were treated with derision.
“The Union strongly condemns the ugly acts of harassing and barring of journalists from venues of state events, and locking out of journalists from the Government House by security operatives”.
“The over-zealousness exhibited by some security operatives at state events is unreasonable and counter-productive as the press is not a security threat but has a sacred duty of purveying information for public good”, they stressed.
The union urged the state government to urgently intervene in the abnormal situation by calling security operatives to order, as the newsmen added that “henceforth, if the press is treated with such ignominy experienced in the recent past, the press community in the state will be left with no other option than resort to total boycott of all government events”. On the management of information in the state, the union expressed worry that government media managers especially the Commissioner of Information, Mr Aniekan Umanah has sidelined correspondents of national newspapers by dealing directly with their head offices in the placement of news and advertorials.
“The union is deeply concerned that since the inception of the present administration over five years ago, the leadership of NUJ in the state has not been allowed access to Governor” the union noted. The newsmen are also bothered about the delay in having an interactive session with the Governor, months after his second term, blaming its information managers. “It is appalling that two years after members of the union have been repeatedly informed in public by government media managers that the construction of the Information Drive will commence in earnest, nothing has been done about the road.
The union is deeply concerned that 25 years after the creation of the state, the corporate headquarters of Akwa Ibom Broadcasting Corporation, AKBC, a major state media organ is still sitting in a rented building which can scarcely afford enough accommodation for state”, NUJ added”.
Accordingly, the pressmen proposed that the state government should construct the information drive, the road leading to major information units in the state, and also construct a permanent corporate headquarters for the AKBC.
